Do you really want to make some money or are you just screwing around with your life? If you really want to make some money, go to Vegas. See if you can compete at the Rhino or the Palomino Club.

A few years ago, when I briefly unemployed. I had given the dancer a $20 for the lap dance. It was over. We were sitting there chatting. She asked me what I did for a living. I told her right now I'm unemployed. She looked at me for a second and then gave the $20 back to me. Keep it, she said.

It's the magic surrounding the Crazy Horse Too that makes this exciting. It was the best place in America to get a lap dance -- their Friday and Saturday night dancers were awesome and awe-inspiring weekend after weekend for years. It was like being dropped into some kind of bizarre erotic heaven where all the usual rules of mundane existence went out the door. I doubt it will ever be what it was -- but you never know. Could be that the name alone brings back the dancers and the crowd and that wild anything-might-happen vibe. And always remember: if you feel they've cheated you out of a couple of bucks on the bar tab, that's an honor. It's Vegas. Don't start an argument over it.

Are you kidding? Vegas. It's not even close.

Best story is this: "Honey, I was abducted by aliens. I was in my car and then 3 hours later, I was back in my car. Everything else is a total blank. All I remember is tiny grey beings with large eyes and perfume and smoke, maybe it was cigarette smoke -- then, suddenly, everything went black...and then I was back in the car. Do you know where I can report an alien abduction? Didn't your sister go through something like this once?..."

Boogie Down, 64th & Pecos, Denver, 1984. A guy comes in, sits down at the stage and places a plate, knife and fork on the stage in front of him. Then, he ties a cloth napkin around his neck and leans forward as if ready to consume dinner -- puts a hundred dollar bill on the plate. Dancer serves him, uh, dinner, I guess is what it was.

I'm not finding the type of loser girls mentioned thus far in threads like this one. Maybe it's just the way I'm picking them out or something, but the strippers I'm finding seem to be confident, self-assured and strong...usually college-aged who have a good take on what they're doing and why. They're paying their bills, buying cars and houses and have established relationships with guys with careers. For the most part, in my experience -- I tend to pick only the most beautiful, sexually alluring dancers and skip everything else. Also, it's hypocritical to judge strippers as hopeless losers without taking a good look at the mirror: what are you doing in a strip club with an attitude like that?

Robofan, that is an amazing story. In fact, I believe some of the 9/11 hijackers were regulars at a couple of strip clubs -- but I thought that was in San Diego and Las Vegas. Maybe in Florida, too.

I'm not insinuating it, p-man. I'm saying it out loud, straight up and without apology.

You're violating the Number One Rule of going to strip clubs: never, ever, under ANY circumstance enter a such a club with any credit card of any kind whatsoever, no matter what. Don't do it. Get the cash you need before hand or stay out.

Oh yeah and right where you entered, they had a big tub of beer ON ICE. They may have been organized crime, but they sure knew how to run a club.

I remember the popcorn machine. I remember they had a little window where you could order fast food, too. Hell, I remember when they didn't even know what a lap dance was until visitors from Texas started showing up and asking for them. Then things changed quickly.

I was driving around late at night, not as aware as I might have been...it was a Tuesday night. Dropped in at my favorite strip club, parked in the lot, walked in the door and was about to pay admission when the doorman asked me, "Are you a cabbie?" Why would he be asking me that question? Took about a second. I looked over and saw naked male dancers in front of a big crowd of drunken women customers. Ladies night, every Tuesday night. Not into it. I quickly left and got out of that parking lot in record time.

I saw a post once about a guy who got waved in after showing a Nevada driver's license. I think he said it was a Saturday morning or midday. Not really the best time to go. Midnight is best for the most beautiful, sexually alluring women -- hey, it's gonna cost you money. That's just the way it is...so go out and earn some.

Crazy Horse Too, 1991. A guy was hassling a bartender about change. He wouldn't let it go. Massive bouncer picks him up and takes him to the back door and throws his ass out into the parking lot. This guy wasn't hurt, I don't think, but that kind of activity eventually led to the club's demise, as we know. If I'm in a club in Las Vegas, I never hassle anyone in the club. Ever. Especially those who are working at the club. If my change is wrong, no problem. If they've charged me for 3 drinks instead of 2, no problem. If the girl says it was $100 and I forgot the $20 tip, no problem. Here's your tip. It's Las Vegas rules. Some things don't change.

I think it's an important topic. "Lap dance" is not exactly a lap dance these days if you're in the right club at the right time with the right, uh, dancer. I've been asking for lap dances, but next time around, I think I'll try the "play" language and see what happens.

Oh for God's sake. It's not about any rational. You want to have a rational discussion of why men like to look at and feel women's breasts? Total waste of time. My limbic system is in charge, nothing else, at least for those highly pleasurable moments which then pass and I get rational again. Why do women so enjoy a man's huge, bulging wallet? Maybe we can discuss that at some point.

The best club is the Spearmint Rhino, but you have to plan for your visit. You only want to go at 9pm on a Wednesday, maybe a Thursday. Don't go in the daytime, you don't get the A list. Don't go on weekends, it's too crowded. 9pm Thursday is okay, too. You've got one hour to look over the beautiful women and pick out the one you like. If you're business-like about it, one hour should be sufficient. At 10pm -- before the place gets way too crowded -- you get the 3-dance/$100 deal back in the back. Before you choose the young women, you should make it clear what you want and expect for your money. This must be done in a friendly way -- it's business, but you're trying to create rapport as well. In any event, if it's grindage you want and just a bit of feeling access, get that out on the table in the pre-dance conversation. Those are the basics to a good experience at the SR. I have other ways of making it work for the very, very busy periods, but I'll save that for another time.

Well, it USED to be the Crazy Horse Too in Las Vegas, but now it's the Spearmint Rhino in Las Vegas.

I've never stiffed a dancer, nor will I. They should be paid immediately after the dance or dances. I have to say, though, that I have been ripped off by dancers. At the Spearmint Rhino in Vegas, I discovered that a $50 had been taken from my shirt pocket -- money I had PLANNED to use as a tip. Also, at another club, management was known for charging customers more than they'd agreed to if it was a credit card settle-up. So, yeah, strippers should get paid...and strippers and clubs should not rip off customers. It's a 2-edged sword.

It hasn't been quite the same since Crazy Horse Too shut down.
