Houston Dolls is a high mileage club. They've been raided 3-4 times since 2000. When I first went there in 2004 the dancers were getting more and more wild. Once, when I went there, there was open fucking and sucking going on in the private rooms. If a bra was laid in the room's doorway, it meant there was extras going on, so the manager wouldn't look in or disturb. Soon after it was raided. For me, I guess, when a club starts getting out of control, it's gonna happen soon.

The one raid that I can recall being present for was at Angels. An army of police showed up surrounding the club with squad cars and vans and police---with and without uniforms. The club pretty much cleared except for management, gambling dancer, and me. Anyway the whole point apparently was to clear the club with a massive show of force.

So terrified management is asking me why I'm not leaving and I say the police have surrounded the club? He says they're everywhere. I say it is a little late to run and if arrests are the game then it makes no different run or stay. He points to gambling dancer and she says I'm staying with him! :)

    She is literally shaking. :(

Of course, I'm hardly fear free. Still I ask gambling dancer to start dancing for me. She gives me the look and says are you really that crazy? I laugh and say it is a free country right? She starts shaking her head NO. She is pro-America, btw.

Anyway, a lone older man saunters in and despite his lack of "instrumentalities" I signal to gambling dancer that this is the man. He comes over and pulls out his badge and politely asks if I'm wanted or have any warrants. I say No. He points to gambling dancer and she just shakes her head No. Then he asks why I'm still in the club. I say you wanted me to leave? He seems confused. So, I state do you want me to leave. He says that would be a good idea. I leave and so does gambling dancer and neither her nor I were arrested.

    Impressive display of force.

I have been in two clubs when undercovers (who were recognized as LE because they had made the rounds before) came in and observed. Of course, everyone knews they are being observed at these times. On one occasion, the undercover LE called all the dancers into the back room and lectured them on do's and don'ts and then left.

I have told this story on here many times. I guess one more won't hurt.

It was 7+ years ago at the now closed Memphis Platinum Plus. At the time, this club had the reputation of being the most raided club in the country. 4 of them came in dressed as bikers. They made a quick sweep of the main room and then headed for the couch room. There is a curtain that can close off this room from the main room. It was immediately closed. My clue came when the DJ announced that the VIP room was temporarily closed and drinks were now 2 for the price of one until it reopened.

It was closed for 1 1/2 hours. A lot of customers got up and left. I was an out of towner, so I stayed. There were over 30 dancers and customers in there at the time. They all got misdemeanor citations.

Then it was business as usual again. I hooked up with a petite hottie in a pink fairly like dress, named Angel. We went to the back for some dances. She asked what my rules were and I replied that I had none and asked about her rules. She said that she didn't have any either. Know what was under that little pink dress? Nothing. By the 2nd dance she had my dick out. On the 3rd she was trying to give me a HJ but was not doing well. I asked her her hand wasn't getting tired. She replied yes and her face went down in my lap. She was not a spitter and no tip was asked for.

Afterward, all I could think of was the fact the I had just received a BBBJ in a club that was just raided by the vice squad.

Occasionally you'll here stories of Quebec strip clubs been "raided" or "busted" when, in fact, there is a provincial agency (I forget the acronym) that merely comes into a club, inspects it for cleanliness & licenses, and then quickly leaves. It's very, very rare that a club is shut down or anyone is detained in these "raids". What is more common are the police driving through the parking lots of strip clubs checking car license tags. I have no clue what they are looking for...it's not as if we're all not given the once-over at the border anyways.

Spring of 1982. Was a law student in Kansas City. Across the river in KCK there was a scrubby run-down joint called The Bowery. I had never been there because I heard it was a good place to get my head busted and because there were 2 great clubs nearby. My buddy tells me the law firm where he works represents the ownership of The Bowery and that there was going to be a donkey show that night at 10 pm. Needless to say, we ignored all warnings and crossed the Rubicon (actually the Kaw River)and arrived on the street outside of The Bowery just as a cop was leading a sad looking burro to his trailer and the cop's buddies were cuffing and stuffing several balding men and one 300 pound bottle blonde in a Sheherezade costume. I think we were lucky that we didn't see the show.

I haven't seen a raid but I have occasionally seen police officers in uniform in a club. I went ahead and tipped a dancer like normal. No problem. My brother and I had more of a problem with the police in one small town we lived in at one time. Actually he got blamed and the police were ready to harass but they left it at that because he wasn't doing anything illegal. Occasionally someone in the neighborhood (probably an old lady with a beef to grind complaining about my brothers loud car) would call up the police and complain about seeing a car and hearing a loud noise. She probably made it sound like he was tearing down the neighborhood. About the only thing he was guilty of was purposely irritating the old woman by revving his engine after she called to complain about him. After that it became like a little feuding match with her calling the police every time he drove by. I think of number of the policemen have an attitude and it's best to stay off their radar screen. They will go after drivers if people keep calling and complaining in a small town.

Actually I don't know if that was an old lady or not, much too kind, that was a bitch that lived down there. The speed limit in the neighborhood was 35 mph. One morning I drove down the street (at the end of the same street I lived on) and I was going 33 mph. The bitch called the police to complain about me speeding down the street saying I could have hit someone. There wasn't anyone near the street. One of her kids was standing about 25 feet from her house but well over 50 feet from the road. I got a better understanding of the word bitch after that, using the police for her dirty tactics was something they probably didn't care for because they didn't call me to complain. The police can cut you a break and I believe they get harassing phone calls as well from people I just described.

Four or five years ago I was enjoying a dance in the VIP area at Lollipop's in Daytona Beach. At the time the city was on one of many iterations of passing antistripping laws and having them challenged in the courts.

In the middle of the third song, just as we were approaching the fun part, the song stopped and the DJ started playing "I Shot the Sheriff". The dancer immediately started getting dressed and suggested that I tidy up also.

Of course, as we left the VIP area we were greeted my unformed officers who were inspecting the premises. I thought this was an ingenious system and got in the habit of asking the bartender or a dancer what the "blue light special" song for the night was. They did change it from time to time.

The weekend after 9-11 I was spending a Saturday night at my favorite place when around midnight about 2 dozen officers in full swat gear carrying automatic weapons came storming in. They rounded everyone up and assembled them on the main floor. Dancers on one side customers on the other. They then brought in 2 laptop computers and set them up on the bar. Some female officers were brought in and took the dancers one at a time to the dressing room to get some clothes and id. Then two at a time we were sent up to the bar asked to produce id and it was checked via their computers. If you didn't have proper id or didn't check out you were cuffed and arrested. If you checked out you were given the choice to leave or stay until they were done. Since it was late I decided to leave. I was escorted to the coat check room and allowed to get my coat then escorted to the valet parking booth handed my keys and was told to proceed straight out the door to my vehicle. About half way home it dawned on me that I had been running a tab which I had not paid for. The next time in the place I mentioned it to the manager and he said forget it the night was on them and he apologized that I had to go through all that.

I can't say for certain but my impression is that they were some kind of Federal officers and not local. They were dressed in all black with no visible badges or markings. The bar is located in a small suburb and I don't think that their entire police force is that big. Also they were to well equipped for local police plus they didn't seem concerned with any vice type activities. Since another nearby suburb has the largest Arab population outside the Middle East I believe they were looking for specific persons who were suspected to be terrorist supporters or sympathizers. I never asked and figured it was a good time to keep my mouth shut since anyone who gave them any kind of hard time ended up cuffed and face down on the floor. Probably not exactly what your looking for but it did happen in a strip club.

Another note of interest I have observed over the years is that local law enforcement in my area likes to raid the strip clubs with the local media along for the ride just before election time.

Robofan, that is an amazing story. In fact, I believe some of the 9/11 hijackers were regulars at a couple of strip clubs -- but I thought that was in San Diego and Las Vegas. Maybe in Florida, too.
