To Doc’s tongue in cheek point about this never being asked before, there is a search icon on the upper right hand corner of this, and I think every, page on TUSCL.Typing in “asking for OTC” will return a lot of hits for past discussions on the topic. Much of the advice here repeats advice in those hits.

You have gotten some good advice here. I will reinforce the “just ask” approach that many, including desert scrub, have put forward. Do not worry about offending the dancer, if you offend her, the worst that will happen is that she won’t do OTC with you, which is where you were before you asked. So, you don’t really lose anything by offending her. She may tell other dancers that you are only after “one thing”, but again, you wouldn’t get OTC from the dancers that pay attention to that anyway, and some dancers that are looking to make a few extra bucks may come looking for you. You are not likely to get thrown out of a club for asking for OTC, as long as you are polite about it, will take no for an answer, and are spending money. Spending money in the club is the key.
A lot depends on the club and the dancer. If dancers do extras in the club, chances are good you can get OTC as well. I have had a dancer tell me “No, I don’t do that, but I can find you someone that will”, and then return with, well a dancer that does OTC. Some dancers won’t do it the first time you ask, but may after they are more familiar with you, so keep asking. There are many factors that a dancer will consider when consenting to OTC. A dancer may be more likely to say yes if bills are due, or she has a major repair, or she it is getting large and she isn’t making much doing regular dances. On the other hand, if she is doing well for the night, just got a child support check, or is on her period, she is more likely to say no. Circumstances, change, so don’t get discouraged.
As to how to directly ask, usually statements are better than questions. For instance, “I’d like to play with you outside the club ” works better than “Can we get together outside the club?”. Similarly, “I’d like to do more” works better than “Can we do more?”. Questions give her a straightforward way to say no, statements not so much.
Sometimes a dialog is needed, but you need to start it and, more importantly keep it going. For example, if you are getting a dance inside the club and want to do more than she is doing, and she says “We can’t do that here”, then you can reply “Let’s do it outside the club”. If If she hesitates you can remind her she doesn’t have to split the proceeds with the club. After a few tries, you will become better at it.
Remember, the dancers are in it for the money and you have the money, so you are in charge. And they are likely to get more money from you dancing outside the club for you than dancing inside the club. Many will pretend that they are in charge, but that is a front that many strippers put on. The dancer you are asking is not the only one in the club, so if they say no, don’t spend any more money on them and move on to a new dancer. If you really want OTC, and the dancer says no, there is not reason to spend more time with her, at least on that visit. This is not your workplace, so HR won’t come and discipline you for asking a dancer for sex.
And there is the rare possibility that few, if any dancers in your club do OTC. If that is the case, find a new club.
But above all, remember; it is your money and you are in charge.

There is another reason why single women can be a problem for a club - they are looking for their boyfriend or husband. I have witnessed problems caused by this twice. The first time the woman confronted the man verbally and loudly. It escalated into a shouting match that the whole club could hear and watch. Although the dancer on stage and the DJ were trying to keep everything together and away from the encounter; eventually the two were escorted from the club. The guy returned about a half hour later though, but everyone in the club ignored him.
The second time I was sitting with my favorite dancer when a guy leapt out of his chair and bolted for the exit full speed, followed by a female. I couldn’t exactly figure out what was going on until the dancer that was with me said that the guy had been discovered by his girlfriend or wife. She told me that is why they don’t like to admit single women, and the bouncers are not supposed to let them in, although I always thought that was due to the prostitution aspect.
So that is another you can add to your list.

A few years ago I wrote this article on one’s first visit to a strip club. You may find it useful. It may also be useful to the veteran clubber when going to a strange club for the first time :

I also wrote this article you may find useful on how to have a good time at a strip club without spending a fortune:

You have gotten a lot of good advice already above, and also some not so good.
Enjoy your future clubbing, and remember, leave the debit and credit cardS home.

I have a friend who had some business size cards printed up that say “Gone to Pee”. He gave me a couple and I put it on my drink when I leave the table. He is a clever guy and had them print it on both sides.
Before the “Gone to Pee” card, I covered my drink with a beer mat or napkin when I left the table. I have been told that is a universal signal to wait staff to not pick up your drink.. Not sure how many patrons know that or care. The card is more effective. I returned to my seat once to find the card missing, but no one sitting in my place. After a few minutes a guy came over and said he saw the card, liked it, and took it on the off-chance I was gone for good. Or he had a guilty conscience when he saw me looking for the card. I told him to keep it as I had others. He bought me a beer.

Knockouts in Albuquerque has $5 lap dances. VIP room is only $10 though, so most dancers don’t want to (or won’t) do lap dances for $5. Occasionally you can get one to to do a $5 lapper if you promise to get the $10 VIP dances if the lap dance is good enough. Since $10 is reasonable, I usually just get a VIP and stop after one if it is not worthwhile.

Desertscrub, often prices paid for dances are often not accurate on the home page or do not include the prices of dances with dancers that push the rules and even for those dances with extras. Although low priced dances on the floor are supposedly available at many clubs, often dancers will not dance for those prices. It is nice to know these things in a review as there is no mechanism in the home page to include that information.
Some times prices are missing or inaccurate. While not significant in my mind, that is the case in the review above, where the price the reviewer paid for a water, $3.50, is slightly higher than that listed in the home page, $3.00. Also, the cover that the reviewer lists as normal, $8, is less than that listed in the Home Page, $10.
I think listing prices also lends some credibility that the reviewer has actually been to the club. A reviewer claiming to pay a lot less than the going rate for a dance is often a dead give away that the reviewer has not been to the club, or the review is a shill ad.
I find listing prices useful. I also understand your point and agree that the reviews should be used in conjunction with the home page and not stand alone.
Not a big deal, unless there are no prices listed on the home page, as usual, caveat emptor.

Most Southern California clubs will have one or more Asians dancing. Same with the Bay Area. I have seen asian dancers in Phoenix fairly often and in Tucson occasionally. We occasionally have an asian dancer or two here in Albuquerque. There is a very nice Thai/hispanic lady who comes over from Phoenix on a fairly regular basis. I have never seen an asian dancer in any of the El Paso clubs.
I agree that asian dancers are often modest in their private dance performances. Also, they tend to be found in the better clubs; I am not sure if I have ever seen one in a dive.

I give in to sin because you have to make this life livable
I would tip on a drink minimum. $1 per drink is pretty standard. Even though strip clubs like to nickel and dime one to poverty and those little expenses do add up, if you are concerned about tipping a less than minimum wage worker a buck, perhaps you should consider alternate entertainment with fixed costs.

It is tough to fill the void left by the Cabaret Club closing. The Red Parrot may be the best of what is left, but all of the remaining clubs have one issue or another.

Boy, this sure reads like a club ad. There are no negative comments (until the ATM charges and that is not too bad), there are comments to refute other review’s negative comments, and there are comparisions to other clubs in the area. I was going to reject this, but it got approved while I was writing my comments. I am surprised that desertscrub, who has identified the Hip Hugger as a club that often posts ads disguised as reviews, and from whom I have learned to spot club ads approved it. :^) Plus, this is the first review from this reviewer.

Founders guidelines have changed over the years; Per Founder, < https://www.tuscl.net/discussion.php?id=6722 >, a review should be :
“Your review should be at least 2 solid paragraphs, with 7-10 sentences each. The first paragraph should describe the club, the second should describe the dancers. You should also summarize with one sentence saying whether or not you would return to the club. ”
There is some overlap in those two numbers. It is interesting to see who commented on that post from 2012, among others, Clubber supported it and Minnow supported it in principle.

I meant to reject this review, but hit publish by mistake. Sorry for the false indication on my part. Others accepted it, so it would have gotten published anyway. See my comments above. To me, it appears to be a review not based on actually visiting the club, or only superficially experiencing the club.

I like the dancers perspective and see no reason not to include them in the review process. The review should have useful information in it though, not only for dancers, but also for customers. Having said that, I don’t see many reviews from dancers or reviews that have been approved by dancers. Did the review in question get published?

If she walks away smiling, you spent too much.
Reviews of a disappointing visit are of use to me if they provide some indication of why the visit was disappointing, particularly if things in the club have changed or if it is a time of day thing. If you had a disappointing visit, I think the review is most useful if you indicate what you expected when you visited, what you got when you were there, and why the visit did not meet your expectations.
