@jackslash: There's barely any scene at all, and the clubs are definitely not brothels like TJ. Your best bet is to make side trips to Puebla, Morelia, or TJ. Domestic airfares in Mexico can be pretty cheap, especially midweek. The escort scene in CDMX by contrast is great. Stay away from streetwalkers, especially if you're solo. Not sure if you have a specific reason to stay in the Centro area. It's not that lively after dark. You might want to consider Roma or Condesa instead. Overall, CDMX is perfectly safe if you've got basic street smarts. It's an awesome city to visit.

@shailynn: The price increases haven't been exorbitant, but they are trending up. The cartels have always been involved in this business. What changed is Covid, inflation, exchange rates, and capex that the HK owners have sunk into the club and hotel that they're trying to get a return on. The girls are charging more because they can. Calling this price gouging is stupid IMO... no one is going there under duress.

This probably sucks for those who visit the ZN often, but for people like me who visit a couple of times in a year it doesn't matter much.

The others are right in that there's no issue whatsoever bringing a girl from BT to Cascadas or from HK to Rizo. Only thing that I would note is that the penthouse rooms at Cascadas aren't worth the extra money IMO. They're harder to get to (elevator waits can get to be a pain) and the regular master rooms are certainly nice enough. If noise is a concern, ask if there's a 6th floor room available. My advice is go for a master room and save the extra money for fun. :)
