Brown University should change their name for disparaging Latinos and for admitting unqualified high-school athletes.

Not sure if you guys are aware of the recent news about Princeton removing any reference to Woodrow Wilson's name from the school. For example, Wilson's name will be removed from Princeton's school of public policy. Wilson was Princeton's school president before becoming US president. Wilson was a first-class bigot who resegregated federal government offices, like the Treasury Department.
Kudos to Princeton for the name change.
This thread's a typical right-wing joke fest -- but it would be unfair to change the name of Yale which has so much name recognition. For example, if Yale changed its name, how unfair it would be for Yale grads to have the same name-recognition as a crappy state school like, say, Ohio State?

"Trump's Republican allies are practically begging him to encourage wearing masks"
_________
I think it takes hours for Trump to spray his orange face and to manicure his white cotton-candy scalp-reduced hair. A mask would upset all that work.
100K new cases per day, coming soon? We're doing far worse than EU and it's amazing that Trump still has 40% approval.

They never tell you what you need to know.
I don't know if there is any solution for gyms -- unless you keep them closed. Sanitizing can only go so far since the virus is airborne during working hours. And we've discussed all the issues about asymptomatic carriers.
Our community indoor gym closed for two months, then opened on a limited basis. As a compromise, the new policy for swimming is that you reserve a lane for one hour, and that lane is yours during the reserved time -- effectively social-distancing for swimmers. Since the gym is indoors, I've decided to forgo swimming and that's been a hard adjustment.
We have no plan in place for testing, tracing, isolation -- so everyone has to make their own choices. A certain segment of society (nutcases) don't wear masks and don't take the disease seriously.

Right. That's why Trump invited Putin to join the G7.
This should be an election scandal, but my guess is that it will be dismissed as "fake news" from the NY TImes. @Mark94 will will offer proof any second now from one of his conspiracy-theory sits.

Some New polling results today from NYT/Siena College:
** Bident leading Trump overall 50% to 36%
**Among college-educated whites, Biden is ahead by 28 points (not a typo)
**Among whites with no college, Trump is ahead by 19 points.

Didn't read @Mark94's link beyond looking at the media-bias rating for "American Thinker." American Thinker is rated as extreme far-right content and low factual content, known for propaganda and conspiracy theories. In other words, a typical post from one of TUSCL's biggest nutcases.

Of course not, and full-contact dances are out of the question, too. Asymptomatic shedding is well-known to anyone over the age of 14 and thermometers are hardly any safeguard.

My hair hasn't been this long since college days.
I was marveling at a picture of Trump's hair. With his scalp-reduction surgery, it looks like someone glued orange-ish/white cotton candy to his upper scalp. Or maybe a dead rodent.

"Here are 7 stunning details..."
----------
The details are not all that stunning. We already knew that about the quid pro quo with Ukraine and the stuff about Finland and Britain confirms what we already know -- that the president is a buffoon and an imbecile. It's simple: Bolton could have testified to the House under oath. But instead, he waited for a book deal and a few million bucks. Yes, what a hero.
@Mark94- Do you stimulate your geriatric asshole while you're watching Laura Ingraham all day long? SHe's 56-yrs-old and must be a hottie to someone in your age group.

Trump's been slurring his words for a while now and his right eye is drooping visibly. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a stroke last year -- which would explain his lengthy visit to Walter Reed. A stroke might also explain his rambling, incoherent, stream-of-consciousness, gibberish at press conferences.
Of course, Biden isn't all there, either. Putting Romney on the ballot isn't a bad idea, and I might seriously vote for Romney over Biden. Romney was (essentially) the architect of Obamacare, he's the only GOP senator with the balls to do the right thing during the impeachment hearing, and he was out marching with the peaceful arm of the protestors. Bright guy and we need someone like that with country disintegrating as it is.

No that's not true. States like Arizona and Texas are experiencing large increases in hospitalizations and ICU cases. Arizona's ICU is at 80% capacity and Texas set three straight days of hospitalization records. We're not done with the first wave of deaths.
And the problem is not lack of masks at the recent protests -- at least not yet. The issue is that some states lifted stay-at-home orders too soon:
https://www.wsj.com/articles/covid-19-hospitalizations-surge-in-some-states-11591912459?mod=hp_lead_pos3
A month ago @Dugan sited a WSJ article stating that deaths were expected to plateau at about 61K and therefore not much different than the flu. Total deaths are about twice that now (116K) and there's no end in sight.
In my local area, the downtown strip clubs are open. Way too soon for me. The local gym is open again and we have special rules where we can reserve swimming lanes. But it's an indoor pool and I've chosen to wait. My wife's company is paying for antibody testing and she had her tests this week. Mine is scheduled in July. The antibody tests don't tell you much about immunity, but I figure it's better than nothing.

Strawman.
A cruel murder was caught on video and people of all colors are reacting. It brings back images of slavery, Jim Crow, public lynchings, and general violence against blacks. I think that's perfectly rational if you have any human empathy.

You can single out NZ and S. Korea as the two countries that have dealt with the coronavirus rationally: social distancing at first, then testing, tracing, and isolating those who are sick.
We're not going to get the same result in our country run by an imbecile. There is no concerted federal effort to fight the virus at this point, and you can expect more waves of death in the future, probably starting in the fall. Even wearing a mask in our country has taken on a nutty political meaning.
