How's Covid Enforcement in Your Area?

I live in Sacramento. Lockdown is still pretty tight here, but not as bad as the Bay Area.

Spent the last few days in Reno and Tahoe. What a difference! Indoor dining without masks. Most people in stores and on the street were not wearing masks. Some casinos were open. However they were loosely enforcing social distancing by limiting table games to three players.

I talked to some guys at one of the casinos who had just driven in from Montana. They said there was no lockdown at all there. I dont know where they went though.

What's it like in your area?

Here in Pittsburgh, we’re in PA’s “green phase”. Bars are now open at 50% capacity. According to the state there shouldn’t be any entertainment at bars though which means no live music, TVs, etc. I went to the Cricket and Cheerleaders last night and stage dancing (with DJ) and private dances were basically normal. I’m curious if the LCB is going to crack down on that at all.
As far as masks, I was told upon entering both that masks are required when not drinking. That didn’t seem to be followed or enforced very much though.

Living in the People's republic of massachusetts our piece of shit governor just informed us no bars for 6 months. Such a fuckin tahd, because the Connecticut border is 14 miles from my home and Rhode Island just a tad further. Been out to eat 4 times and played 6 rounds of golf in the last 11 days. Every cent spent out of state. My plan is to simply continue doing so regardless of what Governor nitiwit decides.

Here in NE Florida things are pretty much wide open. Strip clubs opened on Friday and other than removing a few chairs from the bars and spacing tables a little more, everything is pretty much the same. 50% capacity in theory but "capacity" is a regulatory limit that many clubs rarely hit anyway. Masks have more or less become a running joke around here except you'll see maybe 25% of all store shoppers wearing them and they are required for haircuts and medical visits.

Oh, as far as "enforcement" I haven't seen any concerted effort on the part of authorities to pester business about distancing and capacity limits. There are at least two strip clubs that would have definitely failed those tests over the weekend. ;)

Social distancing is recommended but ultimately it comes down to individuals. I wear a mask and socially distance from everyone except from my CF. If I catch COVID, I know where I got it from 🙂

If I’m being reckless by being in close contact with the CF, the least I can do is socially distance from family and coworkers.

I don’t even go to bars or restaurants. My only risk exposure is the strip club.

I reopened my business about one month ago. I don't wear a mask here under any circumstances, but all my clients and prospective clients can do as they please. So far not one has worn a mask. I wear one if I have to and I did wear one to buy weed in Denver and to fly there a few weeks ago. Other than that I wear one into the restaurant and sometimes out. I shake hands with everyone; hug my friends and family and other than take the same precautions that I always do. I'd rather have one huge wave of this; have a bunch of people die; get herd immunity and go on. Waiting for a vaccine is simply just an excuse to not live. A life lived in fear is a life wasted. We all die so stressing about when and how seems like a waste of time.

I have no idea. Officially because of my age, etc I am on lock down until July 12 but I have elected to isolate myself at home regardless of what the governor says.

The infection have begun to rise, "spike" as written in many articles, after the protests of the past week. If it really is related to lack of masks and social distancing at protests, this could become worse than the first wave. I may have to avoid SCs for longer than I planned, given that the demographics there would likely match those at the protests.

Rates are going up because they're testing more. The real levels are not changing.

Having "rates" go up because more people are getting antibody testing showing prior exposure is no big deal. Having ICUs beginning to strain at capacity is a real concern. https://www.click2houston.com/health/202…

No that's not true. States like Arizona and Texas are experiencing large increases in hospitalizations and ICU cases. Arizona's ICU is at 80% capacity and Texas set three straight days of hospitalization records. We're not done with the first wave of deaths.

And the problem is not lack of masks at the recent protests -- at least not yet. The issue is that some states lifted stay-at-home orders too soon:

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/covid-19-ho…

A month ago @Dugan sited a WSJ article stating that deaths were expected to plateau at about 61K and therefore not much different than the flu. Total deaths are about twice that now (116K) and there's no end in sight.

In my local area, the downtown strip clubs are open. Way too soon for me. The local gym is open again and we have special rules where we can reserve swimming lanes. But it's an indoor pool and I've chosen to wait. My wife's company is paying for antibody testing and she had her tests this week. Mine is scheduled in July. The antibody tests don't tell you much about immunity, but I figure it's better than nothing.

Six feet dances ducking suck. That’s all I have to say.

^ Which is why my vacation from dancing has sort of extended. Initially, it seemed that all the NE Florida clubs were enforcing the 6 foot rule in private dances, but some mutuals have said that a couple are ignoring the CDC guidelines and are allowing contact dances anyway - which I myself can't verify cause I haven't returned. I've been revisiting some elderly relatives recently, and since COVID cases have recently spiked, I don't think going from work regularly back to their house is a sharp idea.

I'm watching a live track-and-field event on the "Olympic Channel" - first race I see only has 3 runners (usually 8 or 9) - then the next race I see it's a guy running by himself - what the ****? And yeah, no spectators.
  • Eve

Maybe the guy running by himself is having a race to self discovery.

Maybe it actually wasn't a race and he was running away from protesters - things that make you go hmm?

6 foot rule in the Jacksonville clubs? LOL, not that I've seen. What club is going to tell girls that they have to starve? Other than the nude clubs, the girls working in J'ville are already handcuffed by not being allowed to show skin on the stage. If they take away the LDs then they might as well just close back up because most of those girls won't show bother showing up.

^its been happening here and a lot of dancers have indeed been not showing up.

Surprised you would have a negative opinion like that. Having to sit table side and give big puppy dog eyes to customers in the hope of a tip for conversation seems like a System wet dream.

Well. I'm only going by the banter that people have been exchanging with me since clubs officially re-opened cause I haven't returned to work or mongered yet. Initially, people were saying that dances were 'socially distanced', but now I've been gradually hearing that that's been thrown out the window in some clubs and contact is now as per usual. On one hand, I wanna see for myself. On the other hand . . . I have other priorities in mind.

No clubs are open and no word on when they might open in Northern California. San Francisco and a few other cities require masks at all times with the only exception being at home or in your own car.
Biggest change this week is outdoor dining and in store shopping have resumed in many places in the Bay Area. No movie theaters or salons yet though.
I actually have never used a real mask and just repurpose a balaclava as sort of a mock turtneck/mask when needed to avoid trouble.

@Nice: Don't the contradictions in your post already answer the question for you? How can one work any "system" when the dancers have so little hope that they don't even show up? Take your time and think it through if you need to. ;)

That's always the double edged sword of recession mongering. In the early days it's wonderful being there when their hopes are dashed and they have immediate cash infusion needs. But if it goes on too long, eventually a lot of them give up and seek out their next best options. A hot young woman can always find a job somewhere, even in a recession. In this instance, their hopes are being dashed right away when they learn that they can't sell the contact that makes them their money.

Maryland appears to be reopening this weekend. Millstream opened Fri 6/12 and I may have a chance to go over there during the weekend FWIW. Another place (Christina’s in BAL) was set up with a tent in their parking lot. Not a normal PLs e I’d go anyway.

🤷🏻‍♀️ Dancer count is down but so are customers as well. If the past couple of days is any indication, the money (while modest) is STILL beating out many options. And yes, even with house&tip out stuff. Not great but not exactly hopeless.

I just meant what I said because the no dance thing incentivizes more girls to sit table side for extended periods of time. (Since there’s not much else to do) Which means more individuals who take the time to listen to your pitch.

Nice, when times are too difficult over an extended period, the girls that remain are often part timers (girls who have other day jobs) and others who can absorb more bad nights (those with SOs with steady income, hobby dancers who have savings and/or go to school, etc.). Or they are desperate girls with criminal records who can't get a vanilla job, but many of these types also have drug issues.

The best targets, hot ass and drug free girls who absolutely need to go home with a certain amount of income, are forced to re-adjust more quickly when earnings dry up.

"I hope there's a recession so hotter girls at the strip club" is a just plain retarded way of thinking.

I would think no dances means even harder to get PLs to spend $$$ - but there are many PLs for whom chair-time is important if not the most important so I assume dancers can still make decent $$$ from the companionship type-PLs.
