Paper Daisy, I've been dancing a long time, and surprisingly enough I remember being a newbie about a hundred years ago:) I'm going to assume you get hired. You are not out of the woods at this point. Most newbies don't make it because the veterans try to intimidate them and scare them off. I'm the rare dancer that is cordial with the younger prettier girls, because I remember what it was like. You will get dirty looks in the dressing room and be told to stay away from "their" regulars. So not only will you have to put up with guys (not all guys) disrespecting you in exchange for money, you will have to put up with a lot of catty women. My point is that if you are going to get into the business, in addition to being attractive, you need to have a thick skin. Good luck and goodnight:)

Many dancers have a great fear of being abandoned, yet we will be the first to cut and run to save our own ass. It's just one of those things. I'm sure there's a deep psychological explanation for it, but I just worked all night and I'm too tired to try and figure it out. I'm sorry that happened to you John.

I used to work with a girl who was I, I have to admit, much hotter than I, but I always made at least double what she made, and I just couldn't understand why. Then she told me she was afraid of rejection so she wouldn't ask the guys for dances. So if you like a girl, let her know.

You sound like you are your own worst critic. As dancer 95 says, I see women whom I don't find attractive make decent money, and I'm sure you are attractive in spite of your perceived flaws. You can probably finance your cosmetic surgery and pay it off quickly once it is done. Just give your body time to heal. I worked with one girl who had a lift and returned to work too soon and one of her breasts got infected. Not brilliant!!! Good luck to you:)

I worked with three separate groups of sisters at two different clubs, and I work with a mother daughter team now. My daughter will become a dancer over my dead body! I'm doing it so she doesn't have to.

I agree. Going down to $300 is too drastic. $400 is still a lot of money that should keep her quite happy sweetie!

$50 is not that much money. I wouldn't waste any time and energy into trying to get payback that is futile.

This is impressive. Gypsy, I think you are very eloquent and intelligent. The only thing that sounded suspicious was the absence of drama at your club. I've never experienced that lol but I definitely don't think you're a troll. I think you have a great mixture of confidence and humility which is rare. Don't get caught up in the life, trust me.
