It's simple. If you want to blame the reopenings then you have to also blame the protests for the surge of cases and hospitalizations. Personally myself I don't "blame" either because we can't just hide in lockdown hoping the virus will just leave on its own.
I just find it absurd and beyond hypocritical that some can blame people in bars but not the protests. It just confirms the fact that the far left is as ideologically stupid and insipid as the far right.

I've pretty much tuned out all TV, including news and sports. I now get my news from foreign news websites, and of course yours truly TUSCL message boards. I used to read Google News at least a half dozen times a day or so. I haven't done so in the last three weeks. I also used to read and watch MSNBC, followed by CNN. Now I find myself watching fox news now, and visiting their website. That's how low things have gotten now.

I was one of the biggest liberals you'd ever meet. I still am on most subjects. But things have simply deteriorated. I left Austin, TX for Arizona because traffic was crap and the recent politics too left wing crazy. Now even Arizona is turning left wing crazy. Who's next in line? Mississippi?

It's all part of liberals and their Cancel Culture Cancer. The only way this gets turned around is if the Dems are repudiated at voting booths in November. Man I want Trump out in the worst way. Unfortunately it looks like it's going to take the worst way to get him out.

But the mass protests must continue unabated! I think I died and for my apparent sins got shipped to the stupid hell.

It's hard to believe that the same voting population that voted in Trump, is now taking a hard left turn. I mean I know Trump has to go, but are we really going to continue down the socialist state road?

The strip clubs in Texas were great up until rap and hip-hop music and culture took over. Now what used to be goldmines are now dead-end ghetto clubs. And it had nothing to do with who was the Governor or who was president.

Don't bother Papi. I've tried getting people interested and aware this kind of violence for the last 25 years. Basically black people don't care because they know white (liberals) don't care, and they'll react the stuff they know will get attention.

Why the fuck are people so surprised infections are back up as we come out of quarantine? I mean WTF did they think was going to happen? That coronavirus would get bored and leave. It never should have been as large of a quarantine as we went through. The best course of action is to let the virus run it's course and people build up resistance which will slow its spread.

@smack9x Blacks were more self-sufficient fifty years ago than they are now. And for your correction, blacks have had the right to vote for over a hundred years (black men at least, before the suffrage movement). It was a question of voter intimidation and suppression in Southern states that was the issue.
Furthermore I find all the arguments about black plight these days, to be in the best case, misdirected. This is not the 1930s in Mississippi. Finally, black men remove themselves from black families. Unless that is you mean the prison population. That's just more ignorance where dumb people complain about incarceration rates while ignoring crime rates.

"Juneteenth..a few days of celebration for white liberals and fronting for the white folks, for a number of blacks". Most black people could care less about it. It's the summer version of Kwaanza.

No even in workplaces without unions, it can be really hard to fire someone. Corporations have to wait until there are RiFs (Reduction in Force) to get rid of troublesome people. Of course by that time they have to get rid of some of the good ones too.

Okay, put the brakes on the hyperbole. Things are bad, but it's not that bad. Not by a long shot.

@Papi Trump simply has to go. No bones about it. Other than voting for Biden, I'm voting GOP down the ballot. I'd always voted for Democrats before. But the liberal wing has become too silly in recent years.

@skibum609 because that's the narrative the vast majority of media outlets and white liberals want to present. They can't just view black people as people first. They started a lot of this shit a few years ago with the constant stories of "white people calling the cops on black people". When in reality it's just stupid people doing stupid things. But the media can't help but invoke race.

If it's a liberal city (yes, Phoenix now fits that bill) you can bet mandatory, feel good, but useless, facemask laws are going to be enacted.

But the immune systems still are able to fight future virus. It's just like influenza. There's a cost to carry antibodies, some viruses the body doesn't just keep for a life time. Like Influenza, it may reoccur several times over a lifespan. And again like influenza, reoccur without serious consequence until other health factors kick in, like age, heart disease, and obesity/diabeties.

People say that, but it wasn't Johnson's "War on Poverty" that hurt black businesses. Black businesses thrived economically and blacks rose from overwhelming poverty numbers, 50% in 1960, to just 18% fifthteen years later after LBJ's progam began (i.e., going from 1965 to 1980). It was also a time that the black middle class developed.
A class that too many young liberal white people think doesn't exist. They think all black people live in 'hoods and are poor. But what else do you expect since they were brought up listening to Gangsta Rap. Now perhaps you understand why I always railed against that music and the 'thug/ho' mentality in strip clubs. I knew exactly what it would lead up to because I experienced it happen in black communities in the 1980s.
