What type of alcohol do dancers prefer?I read several comments about Crown Royal and how smooth it is. Uh, guys, as you know Crown Royal is a so-called Canadian rye whisky. I can't stand the stuff; I find it harsh and undrinkable. It is a blend of both rye and corn whiskys.
Canada's best whiskys are distilled by Alberta Distillers, Gibson's, and Wiser's.
Alberta Premium Special Edition(30 Year) and also Alberta Premium Special Edition(25 year) are pure rye whiskys - no blending with corn whisky or with younger whiskys. Even though Alberta Distillers was sold to Beam several years ago, none of the premium whiskys are exported from Canada. They are even difficult to find in the rest of Canada. The 30 Year was released last year and mostly sold out by Christmas. For a premium product it wasn't that expensive; I paid $50/bottle for my case.
Other good ryes that are drinkable and may be exported to USA are Wiser's Legacy, Wiser's Very Old(18 Year), and Gibson's Finest Rare(18 Year).

What type of alcohol do dancers prefer?I was at a wedding this weekend and virtually all the young women were ordering gin at the bar. Much to the dismay of all the happily pissed young girls the bar ran out of gin late in the evening just as those same girls were casting off shoes and hiking gowns up to their waists for some serious dancin' and partyin'.
It was a big help that ol' farmerart happened to know an after hours bootlegger who was happy to deliver.
Damn good party! Sunrise shut down the shenanigans.

what is the best traveling job ?If you have an oil industry skill, the entire world is on a plate for you. Just be advised that you will be working in many of the world's armpits - Saudi Arabia, any one of the several 'stans, North Africa, the Arctic, offshore platforms, the inhumane heat and humidity of south east Asia, North Dakota, southern Saskatchewan, Wyoming.
Enjoy. Money's pretty terrific to compensate for all the shitty places you will be working.

farmerart or Clubber?@motorhead,
I remember when this happened weeks ago. I haven't heard of the guy being caught yet. But then, Vancouver Island is such a quiet place that the horsemen do not send the A-Team out there.

However, I have been in this speed neighbourhood and I was scared shitless. Some serious rush though!

Am I A 'Toff'?@londonguy,
And you - old Etonian, Harrovian? Your college - Balliol, New, Trinity?
That stripper who used the word when chatting with me did have a rather plummy accent. Is the term 'Sloane Ranger' still used in England? 'Gells' can be toffs, can't they?

You crack me up, Ermita_Nights!! Apart from pipe over my shoulder, I have been known to go to the Rig Pig in Nisku, AB dressed exactly as you described. And, for 30+ years that was my regular gear. Not so much now; I am more 'corporate' these days though I will still get 'down and dirty' in the 'tools' when need arises.

Am I A 'Toff'?@steve3003,
This stripper spoke with an English accent in a Calgary club so she was unusal, indeed.
@lopaw,
Canadians....zany vocabulary....? For me it is you Americans that have the strange vocabulary. We speak the Queen's English (and the old King's French) in Canada. That language you characters speak south of the 49th parallel really puzzles me sometimes.
@steve229,
I knew I could count on you to dredge up a link such as that one.
For what it is worth, 'toff' to me means an upper class moneyed fop - something that I assure everyone that I am not. I am the descendant of horney-handed Scandinavian peasants, raised on a farm, no education (but I read many many books). Got my hands dirty all my life to make a buck or two.
I was sorely insulted when that stripper called me a toff.

Your Personality and Your 'Success' In SCsMany thoughtful responses here. To get to the roots of what I was trying to express is an impossibility. This is interaction between human beings, after all, and we are all different. Not every business deal I try to negotiate will work out in my favour and it has been proven many times that not every SC visit of my hobbying has resulted in the 'success' that I so eagerly seek.
indyslick makes a very valid point regarding levels of expectation of 'success' in SC visits.
And windowsidiot's pithy observation.......'Maybe I'm just getting old and lazy?'.....
I like that one!

DUI ArrestJeez, JohnBuford, that is real shitty news to hear. Glad that no physical consequences from an accident were involved. You must be a valued employee. Your employer was very decent about this. You are correct to fear the insurance premium hit that you will experience.
About two years ago a horseman caught me doing an outrageous speed in my 'big boy toy' hot car. The insurance package for my personal vehicles is now in the $20k/year neighbourhood and will remain in that neighbourhood for another five years.
I hope that you come out better with insurance premiums when this all shakes out for you.

What would you have done?WTF? Do you have some magic dust sprinkled all over your body that brings out this behaviour from dancers, shadowcat? Never works this way for me. I certainly can now get action in clubs and OTC is not uncommon if I go hunting; but, it always costs me much more $$$$$$$ than you seem to spend.
Is this just a function of your hunting grounds in Atlanta/South Carolina? Or, are you some devastatingly sexy stud?

motorheadFat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life
What was this?This is a virtually universal practice in Edmonton clubs. I refuse to submit to the ID scan. Usually I can bullshit my way past the scan but there remains one club in Edmonton that I have never visited because my bullshit skills haven't been good enough.
