My all time favorite club (back when I was in my mid-20s) is unfortunately closed now. Not sure why. They were always busy. This place was the definition of a dive. Ugly building, very small, inside was not posh in the least, bathrooms were disgusting, even the girls were generally plain with none above a 6...however, I was made to feel like a king when I went there. All the dancers were friendly but not pushy. Never had to worry about a dancer cheating me. There was an older lady there too that was like the dancer's "mom" who would come around and talk with me and do some innocent flirting. It was a hole-in-the-wall, but it was my little hole-in-the-wall. I'd give anything for to be able to go to that place again. Oh well...
I haven't read the entire review, but from the excerpt provided it sounds more like a disgruntled dancer or fellow bartender than an actual customer if you ask me.
I remember when the going rate for a LD was only $5! Seems like out of nowhere it jumped up to $20. Seems like @20 is the going rate for LD's now, at least in places where I go. If a place has $30 LD's I'd probably attempt to at least negotiate 2 for $50. But I can't imagine paying $50 or more for a LD. Inflation is a BITCH!
Last time I went to a SC I decided it would be best to take off my ring. Not sure if that was a good idea or not. The very first girl that came by to sit with me at my table asked me if I was married. I was a little shocked that she would ask since she could obviously see I wasn't wearing my ring. For some reason I went with it and told her no, but she gave me a very strange look. Maybe I'm a bad liar, and saw right through me. Got a weird vibe from her after that. I don't know now why I thought I should lie to her. I know that it wouldn't have really mattered to her.
This reminds me of a time a few years ago when I went to a SC right after learning my wife at the time was going to leave me and a divorce was in my future. The girl that came to sit with me asked about my marriage status and I told the girl about my situation. She then gave a very strange response...simply said, "oh," and sat there in silence. I had come to party it up and let off some steam, but it seemed to take the wind out of the sails. Oh well.
