I was planning a trip and did a search on the city (I think it was Pittsburgh) and "strip clubs."

Just a fat, creepy old pervert.
If you've ever played sports or been in other public shower situations, you'll find out that urinating on your own feet is one way to keep the foot fungus nasties away.

I've been in a lot of places where the bartender is the hottest girl in sight, as well as being the best conversationalist and the biggest flirt. That being said, I've lately run into some really, really bad bartenders and waitstaff. Waiting at the bar tem minutes for a drink when it isn't busy. Watresses who remove you half-finished drink from your table and never return to ask you if you want another. Perhaps it's the economy and people taking these jobs who shouldn't be employed in any customer service capacity?

gmd: There are lots of ways to get a dancer's attention, but I still prefer the stage to see what I get for a $5 bill to determine if a lap dance is on the table. If a place is crowded, like on weekends, this is especially important if the dancers aren't circulating much.
Like others, I get my share of "you're such a nice guy" or "those guys over there are jerks" comments from dancers. Maybe I should just enjoy those comments, SS or not, and not let the jerks negatively impact my infrequent nights out.

gmd: Jerks like this are the reason I've stopped going to clubs on weekends. One Friday night I encountered a group of broke, drooling young guys taking up every spot at the stage. You couldn't get to the stage to tip a dancer you were interested in. But on second thought, perhaps I should adopt your attitude.

troop: from my time in Europe, I'd say these places mainly cater to locals, not GIs.

There are places like this all over Germnay. I think "FKK" is even a chain.

Anyone ever read "The RIght Stuff"? Hello? Those guys were all horn dogs. It's had to have happened by now. He's just spouting official NASA policy.

It's all relative. Can you afford it? Should the money be going to something else? Investments? Mortgage? Debt payments? Food Shelter? Clothing? Is it all discretionary income? I know guys who spend more than that a month on golf. On the other hand, that's more than the first mortgage I had back in the 90s. Interesting comparison: if you make minimum wage, your gross would be $1160 per month for four 40-hour weeks.
It's more than I spend, but I'm not forking over the funds for ITC/OTC. For that, I live vicariously through all of you here....

I suppose the question that needs to be asked is: What is the medicinal value of beer and tequila shots? What nasties does alcohol kill?

I generally avoid weekends. Too crowded, too many idiots. Sure there are more dancers on weekends, but there is a lot more hustle and a lot less customer service. Hard to find the diamonds in the sea of cubic zirconia.

If you make the mistake of telling a dancer you're an attorney, chances are you will spend the next 30 minutes listening to her legal problems. Are you going to bill her for it?

Not that I don't sympathize with the guy, but:
"We started a tab on my credit card..."
I think that should be number one on the list of things NOT to do in a SC.

Cocoa Beach is a lot closer to Orlando than Tampa, and pretty much a straight shot on the toll road (528).

I'll vote for the one that aways grabbed my attention: DrD's OLD avatar. Looks just like a dancer I met last summer.

ITC and OTC isn't my thing, but lately (last six months or so) one or the other has been offered to me during almost every SC visit. And I'm by no means a regular at any club, don't have ATFs, am not fabulously good looking, etc. If that's what you are looking for, I would second the suggestion to leave your wife at home.

Thanks for the reminder of one of the many reasons I don't visit local clubs. I'll continue to contain my clubbing to business trips. I used to teach at a college in a small town. Seeing my students in regular bars was awkward enough, especially since I knew most of them had to be drinking on fake IDs.

I still enjoy sitting at the stage, watching the show and tipping. I've had fun nights at clubs without getting lap dances, but that's not the norm.

You can find decent microfiber polos and slacks and shorts at most places that sell golf apparel. That's usually what I wear. Ties are for work. Most of the guys in suits I see at clubs are there talking business or entertaining clients. I think dancers are more interested in what's in your wallet vice what's on your back, unless you just stepped off a construction site without bothering to shower and change.

I've seen those billboards for years and have never been tempted to stop. Less of a temptation after reading reviews here. The places with heavy highway ads like that usually turn out to be lame.
