As far as I know, there's not too many clubs around here that require the girls to pre-pay the house fee. Many of them just take it out of the first drink they sell, the others collect it when they leave.

Yeah, I've experienced that. But I'm not sure there's much in the way of cause and effect going on. I've had similar "tame", aka "lame" dances from popular hotties as well. And the "sitting alone" girls have provided some of the best experiences. For instance, the former dancer I'm seeing now was definitely a "sidelines" girl when she was dancing.
I suspect there are lots more factors than just "popular" versions "sideline" at play here. The club, the time of day, the nationality of the dancer, and who knows what else.

That's a good guideline, and one I use myself, but it's nowhere near "inevitable". There are at least two girls at PT's who don't do anything at all at the club, but regularly and often trip and fall on their backs OTC. Now to be fair, it's apparently moderately hard (though not impossible) to actually get it stuck in ITC at PT's. The VIP rooms are subject to random waitress intrusion, even for the highest price, 1500 per hour, room. And a number of girls have been fired for even the most mundane of "extras".
So absolutely use what rick said as a guideline, because in most clubs, it's going to be a very good one, but don't confuse it for universal.

Every time I go to a club, I appreciate my wife more. There have been times when the clubs were <em>boring</em> enough to keep me away, but there are only two clubs in Louisville that I stayed away from based on the likelihood that I'd get hurt or worse. Still didn't stop me from clubbing elsewhere, thought.
