If the hunting is not good at PHC, take half of the $ that you budgeted and head to BT's (or Coliseum. Not quite up to PHC standards but very decent talent, OK VIP facility and more bang for the buck than PHC.

Is Tampa and vicinity losing its appeal as a SC destination?
Thanks for the updates on the Tampa scene. I'll temper my expectations for fun in the Tampa area clubs or at least keep reminding myself that the Tampa clubs are much better than the clubs in Orlando. Now that I think about it, even the IHOPs and convents in Tampa are better than the Orlando scene.

Samsung: As you note, Flight Club (FC) is a sister club to Penthouse Club (PHC). I'd rank it just behind Penthouse in terms of attractive dancers who are willing to provide excellent customer service. FC seldom has the number and selection of dancers that you'll find at PHC but the quality is usually pretty good. Both clubs are on the pricy end of the scale for Detroit. From my experience, I think that Silky's price ranges are a bit on the high side but maybe that's because I'm willing to say "no" to outrageously high offers (which often gets a more reasonable counter offer, especially on slow afternoons/nights). You can also add Landing Strip to the middle tier list of clubs. Several clubs have been recently renovated and renamed or have resurfaced on the Detroit scene-- Players, Silver Cricket, Ace of Spades. I have no experience at these clubs so I can't comment on their quality, value, etc. Strip clubs seem to be one of the more notable growth industries in Detroit, as long as the politicians and police don't mess it up.

Quote from Shadowcat: To celebrate my 70th birthday last month, I took a 20 yo & her best friend, a 29 yo to VIP. They were both equally skilled. Gotta love Shadowcat. Must be something about strip clubs that contributes to longevity. Aging golfers talk about shooting their age (a 70 year old shoots a score of 70 or better). We need a similar concept for strip clubs. How many legal aged dancers does it take to accumulate enough years to match your age? Shadowcat now needs three or more dancers to accumulate enough years to match his age!

I have been there within the past year and felt safe using the strategy that Rod summarized. However, I've seen reports of recent police raids and a murder at HK. I'd probably hold off on a visit until some sense of sanity is restored in Tijuana--- First time I've ever used sanity and Tijuana in the same sentence! It depends on whether my Wife is with me. If yes, then 3 seconds of peripheral vision is my time frame before she gently redirects my attention to the other activities at hand. If I'm alone, I'm not shy. A smile, a nod a thumbs up or more is ok. In my experience most women enjoy being appreciated and if they're dressed provocatively for a trip to the grocery, i assume it's open season on appreciating ... Not on gawking and stalking, just on noticing.

    Worst Stripper Name
Car names are very popular in strip clubs. Nearly every club has a collection of strippers dancing under auto names such as, Porsche, Mercedes, Lexus, etc. Just a matter of time until one of the bigger boned strippers selects a "truth in advertising" name such as "F150 Pickup."

    Headed to Tampa next week....
Che--- excellent report you should be writing a strip club section for Fodor's, Lonely Planet or one of the other travel guides. My suggestion, rebook your golf trip for Michigan. The courses are cheap in February, just bring your mittens and some ice crampons. However, if 2-way contact and extras are of interest then the Detroit strip club scene is quite good regardless of the season. On a more serious note, book two golf trips each year with the summer trip being to Michigan. The best concentration of excellent golf courses is located around Gaylord and Traverse City but the strip club scene in that part of the state leaves much to be desired. Detroit, especially the northern and western suburbs have a reasonable selection of golf courses and the metro Detroit area (e.g., 8 mile road, Inkster, Dearborn, Lincoln Park and Romulus) has a great selection of strip clubs.

Ah, the shaving cream show at Hong Kong in Tijuana. A stage full of shaving cream and two Latina hotties covered with shaving cream and nothing else. They had a selection of rubber dildos on stage. After fingering and licking each other, the girls would slide around the stage to customers. For a dollar tip, customers were given the the dildo to "test drive" for a 10-20 seconds. One dancer offered dildos in her pussy, the other offered her ass. They were on stage for probably 20-30 minutes and left with 200 shaving cream covered dollar bills, maybe more.

Anal with a condom-- one of my favorites but I don't get a high percentage of yeses when I ask about anal in the strip clubs. Bareback anal is a different story. It carries too many risks of serious diseases for me and even more for the dancer. If you're concerned about a messy experience, ask if the dancer has done an enema-- a fairly common procedure, especially for the porn stars and other anal connoisseurs.

    Tampa and Pasco County recommendations?
Quoted from rickdugan: "As a general rule of thumb, we do not single out clubs and explicitely discuss services received in those clubs on this discussion board, for what I think are obvious reasons." I agree with rickdugan, mostly. Please don't include any explicit discussion of services, etc. on the open board but a simple recommendation of a club (e.g., be sure to stop by Scarlett's or Bare Assets for high quality dances) does not (in my opinion) include too much detail. After all, each club has a collection of reviews, some of which include details about the reviewers experiences at the club. I probably should have been more directive in my original query. If you want to include any details in a recommendation, please send me a PM but do not post explicit content on the open board.

    County Fairs
I was underage but I manged to sneak into a county fair strip show in Jacksonville, FL around 1966 or so. The woman stripped naked and danced to some music with the urging of the carnival barker. The teens in the audience gawked while the older men in the audience hooted and called out insults. The experience made quite an impression on me and started my enduring interest in female anatomy and strip clubs. At that time, most of the clubs in the Bible-belt south were pretty conservative and it wasn't until I traveled to Michigan that I encountered a fully nude club. OK, I'll ask. Jabthehut-- what is the difference between naked and nude?

    What is rape?
I think the update is long overdue and appropriate. Of course, the "devil's in the details" and it will be interesting to see how "consent" is defined and assessed. Notice that consent is the key--- if consent is not given then it is rape. If consent is given (presumably freely and between two adults) then any sex act is legal as long as both parties have consented. In theory, consent can cover a continuum that ranges from passive consent (failing to express any objection, assuming of course that the person is capable of expressing an objection) to formalized active consent (signing a legal document that grants consent). It will become even more complicated when you also have to determine if consent was freely given and if the person is capable of consenting (this is where intoxication and even mental capacity may become an issue). For example, it might be possible to get someone to consent to sex by threatening to kill or injure that person unless they "consented" to sex and followed through with the sex-- and sex under those conditions would probably qualify for rape. Of course, that would be an example of "consent" that was not freely given--it was coerced by threats of bodily harm. Now consider several other examples of possible "coercion"-- would it be coercive to pay someone a million dollars to have sex? Before you say "sign me up" or "no, you can't coerce a person with money" ask why not-- what if the person being offered the million dollars was impoverished, had no skills (other than sex) and had bills to pay or a child to feed. Does that begin to feel more "coercive" in that it would be difficult or impossible for the person to say no to the offer of money for sex. Said another way, it is may be possible to coerce with "positive" means, not just negative means. If that it is possible to coerce consent with positive means, then it opens the question of what other strategies might be used to "coerce" consent? If you agree that the million dollars for sex borders on "coercive" then is there a price point (say $100?) where it doesn't feel so coercive? Does the label "coercion" still apply if we're talking about paying a person minimum wage for performing some other type of service besides sex, say working at a fast food restaurant. Finally, is it possible to coerce consent with means other than money or threats of physical harm. For example, what if a person offers marriage (or physical and emotional support) in exchange for sex or if a person threatens to file for divorce unless there is implicit or explicit consent for sex? Is consent truly given in either of these examples? The point is that "consent" is the key to the new definition and this is not a simple concept especially when you have to consider the full range of ways that a person can be motivated to consent and whether the person was truly capable of consenting or refusing to consent. In my opinion, the revised definition is still an appropriate update. But, as I said above, the devil is in the details and case law will be needed to clarify the definition of consent. This revision should make for interesting discussions about how we define rape and consent. Now if we could just open the door for the decriminalization of prostitution? But that's for another discussion thread.

Tijuana! Read the reviews of Hong Kong or Adelitas on TUSCL and internationalsexguide.info, including advice on safe travel to and from the border to the clubs. Noisy environment but entertaining shaving cream stage show at Hong Kong. Great selection of willing dancers at a very reasonable price point at both clubs. Strip clubs, including those in the U.S., seem to have experienced a recent rash of shootings, especially late night incidents. Be vigilant and stay relatively sober, regardless of the club's location.

Many websites either have pre-set categories (e.g., strippers, public, deep throat) or search functions that should allow you to narrow down the offerings to something of interest. Try: socalmovies.com tiava.com shufuni.com xhamster.com for starters....

Dancers that don't do extras reap the benefit of those that do.
Seems to me that there is a compelling argument to legalize prostitution, regardless whether the venue is inside or outside a club. Sex between consenting adults is legal. It is perfectly legal to hire people to clean your teeth, to pump your septic tank, to cook a Big Mac, to model a shoe or a bra, or even "act" in a porn movie. So why should it be illegal to hire a person to perform a sexual service?? It would be less dangerous to the provider if the service was legal-- less opportunity for exploitation and abuse by a pimp, more monitored settings for interactions. It would also be less dangerous to the client-- possibly by requiring periodic health screenings for providers, for example. Does it exploit the person (most of whom will be women)? That depends on your definition of exploit. Are they being hired for their body? Yes, but so is the model for his or her beautiful feet or hands or etc. Is the task itself inherently unpleasant and we're "forcing" a person to do something that is unpleasant-- well sometimes, but so is garbage collection and pumping septic tanks-- at least the prostitute could say "no" to certain clients. Would it be any less exploitative to hire a person for minimum wage but boring, no skills required job? Does it sell a commodity or a service (sex) that should be treated differently than all other commodities and services-- well no, look at how many people have perfectly legal marriages that exchange resources (money and all that money buys) for these very same services--- even if the nature of the exchange is a bit less obvious that pay for sex. Probably preaching to the choir-- enough said.

    Is it so wrong...
Let me recommend an article from the NY Times Magazine called Married with Infidelities: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/03/magazine/infidelity-will-keep-us-together.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=Married%20with%20infidelities&st=cse. In addition to the article, is see two key points-- people have different biological needs for food, liquid, sleep, heat and cold. We respect those different biological needs and they seldom form the basis for a marriage break up as long as one person's interest in that biological need does not infringe on the other person's rights or well being. Why should sex be any different? Sometimes the difference in sexual needs are there at the start of a relationship; sometimes they emerge with biological changes over time, such as health changes or menopause. Maybe we should place higher value on emotional commitment and a respectful relationship between two people than on sexual exclusivity?? Also-- don't forget that humans are the product of 20 million years (give or take a few million years) of evolution. Evolution selects for those who enjoy sex-- by that I mean they repeat the act often enough to contribute their genes to the next generation. Evolution does not select for sex only in the context of a marriage or a sexually exclusive relationship. Society, not evolution, programs our value for fidelity and largely to increase the likelihood that children will be raised in a stable home environment. Sexual exclusivity (fidelity) does not insure that the relationship between two people is loving and respectful-- you can think of plenty of examples of these relationships-- people who hate each other but remain sexually exclusive. That doesn't seem to be a healthy environment for raising children or for anything else. How about the flip side--- is it possible to love another person and treat them kindly and respectfully but still to want and maybe have sex outside of that relationship. Well, it happens all the time (the incidence of marital infidelities is quite high, for both men and women). Why should the sexual infidelity undermine a good relationship any more than acting on a biological urge to have more food, more liquid, more sleep than your partner needs or wants? Note that I've focused on sex as a biological act-- if however the sex outside of the relationship has emotional overtones-- you fall in love with your extramarital partner-- then it raises different issues. So my advice to hulk518 is that it may be OK to act on those biological urges as long as your actions don't undermine a respectful and caring relationship with your SO. If you're racked with guilt, just remind yourself that its not your "fault" after all you (and your sexual needs) are the product of 20 million years of evolutionary programming.

    Flight Club Rip Off Warning
I thought about refusing payment but it seemed like a no win situation-- two dancers claiming that I owed them money along with the VIP bouncer who reported, accurately I might add, that we had been in the VIP for 5 songs. It is really too bad that the theft occurred as otherwise it was a good time-- 5 songs with 2 dancers for $100 each. Both dancers demonstrated rather impressive deep throat skills (on my hand, rather than on a more sensitive part of my body).
