Buy a rock, propose to her. Otherwise just live with it. I can't think of an ATF I've ever dealt with who I haven't made it clear up front that I won't be hurt or offended if they cut our non-productive time short and went to grab a few (hundred) bucks elsewhere. I've even pointed out when I've seen a guy clearly into her/them. Two things happen then. The down time I spend with my ATFs is guilt free (she's not anxious because she wants to find a way to cut me free and check out a bigger whale and I'm not beholding to dance with her because she's got a car/house/baby payment) and the dance time is more productive because I have her/their undivided attention.

Just how much do you think dancing in a strip club pays? I don't know what the rate is for nude/figure modeling (there are art schools where people draw and paint as well) but at the end of the day what you get is yours. At a strip club, there are house fees/tip outs. And, quite frankly in many places (can't speak for Minnesota)you make your money on lap dances and not stage dances. And for many people here, the higher value lap dance experience is a lot closer to the "porn" you don't want to do photographically than modeling. If you haven't already tried your hand at a club, try one with an amateur night and see if it's what you really want to do. Good luck in whatever you do.

It's not in their best interest to "remember" unless you remember a significantly smaller number (most clubs I've been in, there's a manager, bartender, etc. keeping count -- especially if they're getting a per-dance cut.

Isn't it a dancer's job to "pretend" to be interested? Can there be give-and-take in a "relationship" with a dancer? Sure, they're people. But is that what you really want to go to a strip club for?

If I just got there, I tell an unwanted dancer just that and I want to relax. If I've been there a while, I say "sorry I'm spoken for, waiting on (fill in the blank)." Of course it helps if that's true.
And as Book Guy said, being polite helps.
It's easier if you're a regular at a club. In this economy, I've seen hangers-on going for something a $5, or a drink off their goal.

Tips are still $1 at every club I've been in. Now, every now and then somebody will start "showering" a girl with dollar bills. Usually that's a shill from the club who will get the money back when she's offstage. I think it's meant to incite serial tipping. I have tipped $5 once or twice. But I've found the most effective way to get a girl to come over after the dance is to ask.

From what I hear, people may be parking farther away than the Mons and 2001. (Pity the one club that is within waking distance -- Platinum Showgirls -- is so bad.) While I prefer the Mons to 2001, one could say 2001 actually has a piece of history with its spaceship, which used to reside at a now defunct Florida tourist attraction.

Just spent some time last night talking to a dancer who had no idea the Super Bowl was in Tampa next weekend. And this was about 40 miles south of Tampa (well within overflow tourist area).

I second Clubber's note if it's a +R or -R you need to finalize it. The RWs you typically can play without finalization (and really shouldn't because you can't rewrite it).

Local TV just did a piece on hotel room vacancies in Tampa. Nothing against the Cardinals but Tampa probably lost big bucks with the Giants and then the Eagles going out. I don't know of too many hardcore Cardinals fans -- don't know any actually -- who would make the trip cross country.

A little of each. In recent memory (last year) I've exchanged or received phone numbers with 10 dancers. Four of them led to OTC meetings, a fifth OTC meeting canceled. One asked about OTC then waffled when we talked and just wanted me to come up to the club. One literally used it to "call one in." Others were MIA. Of the three, I lost touch with one after she went out west; met with the second out of the club a couple successful times -- then she started making ATM calls so THAT died. Got together with one twice, then she changed phones. Later showed up on Craigslist but clearly in a "working girl" capacity. Fifth has led to monthly, or occasionally twice monthly meetings with time spent and "rates" flexible. (She may be taking a state-sponsored vacation at the end of the month, so I'm hopeful that the cancellation can be resurrected -- went to her club once since but she wasn't there -- so that may be MIA.

Don't know enough about Detroit to know your definition of "fun clubs." Been ages since I've lived in the D.C. area but some things never change. Looking for sleaze, hit the Block in Baltimore. But if you're not looking for that and more eye candy, skip it. You'll spend more time in the car than you will at the clubs.
Never hit Philly clubs. Did hit the South Jersey clubs, I remember them as having better eye candy than Baltimore. New York is technically in range -- don't know what's still open there.
D.C. is, as others mentioned, all stage dancing (and alcohol) I was a fan of Good Guys as well as Camelot. Other clubs I liked are long gone.
Read interesting things about the club in Beltsville (near University of Maryland) in terms of contact (just lap dances) and when I lived in Southern Maryland, used to hit Choo Choos

Interesting. Only been to Vegas once -- and that was back in the 1980s so it can't count for comparison -- in Tampa (often referred to as Mecca by people on the board) I've seen plenty of new girls (and unretired girls) but I think the economy has forced some serious competition too. It ranges from negotiable dance prices to clubs offering 15 minute VIP room options (though not at precisely half the cost of 30 min).

Scarletts/Ybor Strip really only requires gowns on night shift. As others have said, Ybor, Mons and Dollhouse appear to be your three most likely places. Can't comment on Shangri-LA and Penthouse -- haven't been to either.
(IF you wander down south to Sarasota, the Cheetah has the strange combination of alcohol, nudity and virtually no contact).
Looks like you prefer working days -- Ybor and Mons both have a fairly active day shift. In realty though, if you're planning on visiting, you can do trial and error fairly easily.

Define "couples friendly." I've talked with several strippers at Ybor who enjoy dancing for couples (the two booths behind the bar are handicapped accessible and thus wide enough for a couple to get a dance from a dancer without having to spring for VIP). Aside from that, it does depend on what you're looking for. I've seen couples at the Mons. In theory the "rooms" at Deja Vu may be big enough but not the booths. At one time 7 Seas was couples friendly but given the general ambiance of the place, probably not a good place to take a woman unless she's channeling Oscar Madison from the Odd Couple. If you and your lady are looking for dances, Ybor may have the best setup. If you're just going for the stage entertainment, does it matter?

It can be a relative thing. Most clubs in my area (Tampa-ish) are back to $20 a piece, with some negotiating -- even Mons gals are seeing the light. But one club I hit the other night had topped that off with a two-for-$30 special that really wasn't so special since the songs were, about half as long and the club took $15 off the top from the girls. This was. vs. the $20 a pop for a full-length song.

You've got to do both. If you go to Mons first, pick up a Creative Loafing to get a $5 off coupon for Ybor. As for 2001 ... well, you can go to Mons and have no privacy because there are no rooms or go to 2001 and have no privacy because there are cameras everywhere.

I agree with lopaw. I'm a regular at a couple clubs and my "favorite" dancers understand that some times I'll dance with 'em, sometimes it'll be another "favorite" sometimes it's time for new horizons.

I know which one you mean (door girl) they may have been friends outside of the club before the door girl worked there. Extras can be had -- seemingly more readily on night shift these days -- depending on your definition. Some, like Julia, can be accommodating one dance and a shrew the next (haven't experienced the latter, but others who post here have). As always, it's hit-or-miss and YMMV. I've had one or two girls who were just a touch more liberal than Eve turn into real extras girls in the last year or so but not Eve herself.
Easiest way to find out about who Eve would want to do a double with is ask. If the girl is still there -- and is working that night -- one would think Eve would readily suggest her.

Can't speak on Platinum Plus but as a longtime Mons veteran (been going there off and on since Joe opened it and it used to have restaurant booths for the bulk of the seating) the only way it ranks as No. 1 is if you're strictly interested in eye candy.
They're the only club in Tampa where the girls can actually hustle up a decent amount of cash just on the stage dancing -- especially on a packed night. They're average at best for lap dances. Used to be better, back when there were fewer options in term of other clubs and lower lighting (ITC activities were actually possible).
Even today, girls there routinely will accept or initiate OTC meetings.
All that being said, it's a great place to go when you're in the mood to NOT spend a lot on lap dances. The McDonald's parallel is accurate but a little low rent. Think of it as, say Outback Steakhouse and all the restaurants in that chain. Always packed, decent food -- occasionally exceptional -- but no bargain.

... that reviewer was you. And it was a fairly accurate one. There are girls there, her, Hailey, and a couple others, who are basically in it for the amount of cash dancing brings in. Though as I'm sure you've found, there are plenty of girls there who offer/can be enticed to extra service.

Danced with Eve many times. This one-G string thing is fairly new (last year or so). She's always been a good grind, light kissing kinda girl. I believe someone said in a review that she considers herself the warm-up girl before the high mileage girl. Seems fairly accurate to me. Though one time, before she and I got a dance, she said she'd just been wore out on a double with another girl. So who knows.
