    How toget past the SS
The majority of strippers I have talked to about this admit they lie in various ways. They say they do it to make more money. I think some of them do it because that's the way they are with everybody, and because they forget to take their medication (and I'm not kidding about this; we all know many of the girls have "issues"; some of them are nuts). The way to get past SS is to: 1) go to clubs often, 2) suffer inevitably the disappointments of learning you are being bullshitted, 3) adjust your BS meter accordingly, and 4) laugh it off, it's not about love, it's about lust.

Dancers who (upfront) explicitly state the rules
I would love to see a picture of the sign in Montreal strip clubs..is that for real? I'm with Chandler. New club and/or new girl situation is all about intrigue, exploration, discovery and (hopefully) finding treasure. I feel (sort of) sorry for the girls who have not figured out the psychology of the male strip club experience and try to reduce it down to a well-defined transaction. They have so many levers, so many ways to get us to gladly open our wallets. Reciting the rules is not one of them.

The Fat Girls Looked Good :)
I may have a different take on this. Within some limits, my preferences seem to be heavily influenced by my experiences. If I have some great lap dances from a skinny asian, suddenly I prefer asians and raw fish; then if I have a great experience with a chunky brunette with tattoos, I develop a longing for trailer park mama's. I honestly thought a few years ago I did not care for blondes. My ATF is blonde. So why not fat girls?

WHAT ARE THE BEST BLACK STRIP CLUBS IN THE US?
I like 'em in all shapes, sizes and colors. Would recommend Bandaids in Phoenix AZ. The wildest black club I have ever been to is Vic's Place in NJ. For Dominican girls, try Harry O's in Stamford, CT. For Brazilians, try Ruby's II or other clubs in Bridgeport, CT.

What is the largest sum you spent in one night at one or multiple club(s)
Ok, this tasteless question got me off my ass. One club, 4 hours, one vip room, 2 girls, $1,800. And there was no way in hell it was worth it. Any time I have topped $300 in one evening in a club, I leave feeling foolish. Best times have been with regular, spending maybe $150 in the club. Cheapest club experience in which I drank, sampled several ladies, and got my rocks off was about $50 (in 2007 no less), and I was there for almost 2 hours. Now that's value!

Has an ATF type dancer "fired" you " for turning cheap?
Just a couple of thoughts. The concept of firing your bad customers is in vogue in business right now. But I think it applies to those very worst ones, not to the regulars. Another common business concept - it is easier and less expensive to retain a current customer than acquire a new one. If a regular customer is spending less, you may need to reexamine your "value proposition". But I would not credit the average stripper with keen business sense, although many understand how to retain a regular and get him to cough up the dough. My personal experience. I think I got fired by one girl after she suggested I buy her a Tiffany necklace and I declined. But that was fine with me; I saw lots of trouble ahead. Yes, have a plan or at least some investment sense. Consider diversification and keep investments regular and fairly even. Don't become a speculative day trader unless you have real good insider information :-)

    The Pink Board
Hey guys, as a newbie to the discussion board, but not TUSCL, I want to tank you for your high degree of acceptance. I have yet to be trashed. Last night, I sampled some threads on SW. I was interested in what you guys were discussing, and I had not visited SW. Ok, now I have, and I can say...you are right, that place is f***ked up. The regular contributors seem to be part of a rather small "in crowd" (yeah, that High School thing, although I'm also visualizing a strip club dressing room). When an uncool person drops in, they obfuscate, ignore, deride, and otherwise make sure the uncool stays uncool. This is not confined to asshole men (of which there appear to be many) but also applies to newbie/uncool women. In one thread on Phoenix clubs, a stripper from Montreal said she was moving to PHX, and could any of the more experienced girls give her some info on good vs bad clubs, tipouts, expected income, etc. Numerous replies later, she had almost nothing! Instead, she got lectures on how to use the board's search feature, and a litany of complaints about how Phoenix, and the business in general, sucks right now, etc., etc. Now, just to complicate this discussion, and offer an alternative framework to that whole "alpha male" thing, maybe SW vs TUSCL differences come from differences in male vs female communication styles. Women prefer "talk about talk", context, and feelings. Men prefer talk about objectives and problem solving. Anyway, after spending 30 minutes on SW, I wanted to commit suicide. Like, it was soooo annoying!

    Dancer Desperation
I think others have identified the factors (micor and macro). I can only relate the trends in Phoenix, where I am enough of a regular to spot it. The big trend over the past year has been in sorting out the good clubs from the bad. A group of clubs that previously occupied the middle ground, in terms of girl quality, have lost mnay of their better looking girls. The few better culbs seem to be gaining girls. My theory is the good girls are in search of the money, and there is less of it available. As for the dance mileage, it has gotten better in the past year. Again, I would like to think it is my ever-increasing charm and good looks, but my big brain tells me it's probably about the competition for cash. On a bigger scale, I have noticed more reviews recently in TUSCL that mention ITC extras. On the one hand, this is encouraging even if you don't want extras, as the mileage will be negotiable. On the other hand, I wish some of the reviewers would cool it, so as not to encite LE to take action. (Which begs another question bandied about recently...does LE care what we say here?)

    Why so many little clubs?
The right little club can be the best sort of experience. I would nominate Bandaids in Phoenix, although recent visits have not been so great. It has a neighborhood bar feel...uhhhh, with the naked chicks. Don't get me started about big, glossy, greco-roman, best club in town places. Not my style. I want dark, dingy, and close.

    Thoughts on Dancer contact
My thoughts are fairly simple. I like vigorous contact from the dancer. I like girls who use their hands. I will very rarely say, "Hey, don't touch that!" When a girl asks if she can stretch the rules, I usually say something like "Do your worst, honey!". I like to be able to touch as well, but I don't have to touch breasts or kitty to have a nice time. I like to give back rubs, because I think I'm pretty good at it, and I get excited by giving a women pleasure. I am occasionally open to ITC extras, but not FS. Usually after extras I feel not so great about the situation (damn morality!). On balance I think I would rather have 5 high-mileage lap dances than a 10 minute session with a happy ending.

Any worries about the economy and it affecting your strip club visits?
Here are some of the facts. You can find a bunch of graphs of economic indicators here: http://www.ny.frb.org/research/directors_charts/econ_fin.pdf 1)Retail sales, excluding autos, has been positive all year, except for a downturn in August 2)Sales of autos and light trucks has been flat for many years 3)Housing starts and home sales are down from a peak in 2005 4) Disposable income has been increasing by small amounts (about the rate of inflation) 5) Personal savings has declined steadily over the past 10 years and is now close to nil 6)Gross domestic product and industrial production have seen positive growth in 5 out of 8 months this year. 7) The unemplyment rate is at 4.6% 8) Manufacturing jobs are declining slightly, service job growth is strong 9) Motgage debt is way up over the past 6 years. Consumer debt (credit cards etc) has been flat. It goes on and on, but the picture is a fairly simple one. We have mortgaged ourselves to the hilt. We are employed, but if we are in manufacturing we should be a little nervous. The economy is not tanking; neither is it growing very fast. Talk of a recession seems premature. Oh, and I think economic hardship is good for guys who want to pay for sex (in its various forms). I think when times get tough the number of women in the trade increases out of proportion to the number of out-of-work men. Remember, women are lower down the economic totem pole. More women means greater variety, downward pressure on prices, and higher mileage. This is why they call economics the "dismal science".

I was away for a two day business trip, and this damn thread expanded some more! I think, at this point, it has turned into the "Battle of the Amateur Psychiatrists", in which we each take our turns trying to convince whghlost that there is world of difference between perception and reality; he rebuffs us, of course! Why? Because what got him in trouble in the first place was...his inability to distinguish between perception and reality...his perception he was having a regular human relationship and lotsa fun with a smoking hot young babe, and the reality that he was being tolerated...until he did something wrong...and then he was history. In the book "Into Thin Air", the author recounts how some people who climb Mt Everest will ascend into the "death zone", and they will keep on goin, but they are really going to die, and there is absolutely nothing they can do about it. And it's just bad luck..a storm, a strong gust of wind, a misstep, a little air bubble in their blood. Whghlost, you have arrived at the top, but you will not get down. Not from this mountain anyway. Set coordinates for another club..energize! Let's give everyone a round of applause!

    What is a THICK stripper?
Ok, I got the definition just now from my ATF. As near as I can tell, it means: "a women who is generally short, big boned, and as a result, fairly thick around the hips and thighs, but not fat." Here are some lyrics from Ludacris'hit "stand Up" that are appropriate for the occasion: How you ain't gon' FUCK! Bitch I'm me? I'm the GOD DAMN reason you in VIP CEO you don't have to see ID I'm young, wild, and strapped like Chi-Ali BLAOW! We ain't got nothing to worry about Whoop ass, let security carry em out Watch out for the medallion my diamonds are wreckless Feels like a MIDGET is hanging from my neckless I pulled up wit a million trucks Looking, smelling, feeling like a million bucks-ahh! Pass the bottles, the heat is on We in the huddle all smoking that Cheech & Chong What's wrong?! The club and moon is full And I'm lookin for a THICK young lady to pull One sure shot way to get em outta them pants Take note to the brand new dance, like this

Cost of living should affect dance prices
There's gotta be a general relationship between cost of living and dance prices, but there are so many puzzling exceptions. Like: 1) Columbus OH, relatively low cost of living, outrageous ($30)low mileage dances (same for Dayton, although mileage better for $25 dances) 2) San Diego, high cost of living, low cost ($10-$15) dances 3) Lots of NJ and CT area clubs, high cost of living, standard $20 dance price There must be many factors that affect pricing: supply, demand, substitutes (e.g. brothels in Tijuana, or massage parlors), market distortions (restrictive laws), geographic or other types of monopolies (zoning ordinances that basically eliminate the possibility of new clubs), etc. I think all of these apply to clubs. I need my brother, the economist, to figure this out.

How long did you know your ATF before ...
Ok, FONDL, I give! I just thought there was an age difference, LOL! By the way, my ATF, at the tender age of 25, is complaining that some people (no doubt, kids working at McDonalds) are referring to her as "Maam", and "that lady". It's all relative. I remember being in 2nd grade. Our elementary school went up to 6th grade. I was awestruck by the 6th grade girls, some of whom were blooming early. Come to think of it, this probably explains why I'm wasting my time on this f**king discussion board...some early childhood development glitch!

    Cash on the bar
Agree, must be a guy trying to impress. In Phoenix clubs, there has been a steady rise over the past year in the number of guys with stacks of $1's. One use of them is to "rain" on a girl on stage (give her a fluttering shower of 10 or 20 bills). This seems to be a hip hop thing (there is even a song out there with words like "I'm gonna rain on them hoes"). Me, I'm with Teddy Roosevelt, "Walk softly, and carry a big stick". :-o

What's the best way for a young girl to maximize her profit?
Here are some other suggestions of the more crass variety, but I just have to mention them, because I think they reflect some realities of the business. 1) Maintain a body mass index below 25. 2) Dye your hair blond. 3) Save up $5,000. 4) Get a boob job. 5) Work regular hours 6) Stay out on the floor, not in the dressing room 7) With any of your regulars, break the touch rules a bit (or a lot) 8) Don't try to be friends with the other girls - be pleasntly neutral 9) Don't argue with management 10) Go to a club where you are above average in looks, but not the best I could go on, but I just don't see it as a great mystery.

"BIg Fish in a small Pond"
Your experience sounds familiar. I sampled clubs all over Phoenix befoe settling down in Bandaids, a little hole in the wall with a strong black and hispanic mix. I was part of a group of middle-aged white guys there who were probably the backbone of the girls' steady income. No disrespect to the other patrons, but there were a bunch of guys at that club who did not have the incomes, and they had various strategies to make up for that: - order beer, sip once every five minutes - scrounge for free feels - give back rubs - act the part of a "player" - throw a bunch of ones on the stage (make it rain)...but otherwise spend little So it was easy for me to feel like a big cheese, and for the girls to appreciate that I had some $20's in my pocket. I also made a point of tipping many of the girls on stage, even though I got dances from just a few. And I always tipped the bartenders and waitresses. It's not hard to get treated right when you start by treating others right. Now, at the big clubs, forget it. I'm just another walking wallet. I think my lesser status starts with the car I'm driving (a RAV4, sheesh!), and my lack of big spender swagger. Oh well, I guess I'm not such a hot shit after all! For you Phoenix visitors, there is an exception. The Hiliter is a pretty good sized club, and if you visit there often enough, you do start to get nicer treatment.

How long did you know your ATF before ...
Here's a tale of two cities. I had about 3 ATFs before my current one. With each one, it took about a month after our first encounter before I we were showing each other a strong preference ITC. And then we would eveolve into some OTC activities, mostly pretty normal stuff like meals and hanging out. But at some point with each, that evolution would hit a brick wall, probably because of limits or fears, or whatever, in the girl's mind. Oh, did I mention I was married and up front about that?! Anyway, my current ATF is no longer my ATF, but rather my live-in SO. I met her in a club I rarely went to, but visited one night to see another girl who had moved over there. Well, the other girl was busy, so I was left alone, and my future SO walked up to me, said hi, and one hour later we were making plans to hook up OTC. There were no barriers. She was available, and so was I (finally separated from my ex). Strip clubs are the wrong places to look for a permanent relationship. No trust, game playing, unrealistic fantasies, and lots of baggage all conspire to derail what would otherwise be a natural progression. But what makes life so interesting are the exceptions to the rule!

When did 2 weeks or a month become a long time?
Now whghlost, repeat after me...it's about the money...it's about the money...it's about the money. Sorry we beat you up so much on that other post. Boy, it generated a lot of discussion. However, it is about the money. I have said this directly to plenty of strippers, and they have never disagreed. I have never had a stripper tell me, "It's a great place to meet people", or, "I just like to hang out here and dance". Occasionally one will say something like "I love my job" but I don't believe it. All of the girls that ever opened up to me OTC revealed that it is a grind they would rather not do, but the money is too good. Just because they get used to it doesn't chnage the equation. People in LA and NY commute 2 hours each way to work. Why the hell would they do that? ;-)

For all you guys offering counseling to whghlost, I recommend you read his reviews, which you can access by clicking on his name in one of his discussion posts. There is a pattern of fixations on particular girls, gripes about club policies, misunderstandings, and getting kicked out for arguing. There is an old saying, "discretion is the better part of valor". More discretion, and less valor, is needed.
