In another thread, I volunteered as a SC consultant; I am a consultant in real life, just not for SC's...darn!
Anyway, I agree with some of the suggestions, but some are unrealistic. So a few points:
1) The local and state laws will prevail. So you must run a place that appears to conform to the law.
2) That means you may have to maintain management control and line of sight with every position in the public area of your club, including VIP lounges. That is the law in Phoenix.
3) The girls are typically not on a salary or have any benefits because they work as independent contractors. The clubs like this because doing payroll is a pain in the ass. The girls like it because most of them cheat on taxes.
4) I like the payout policy. Charging girls a set fee (say $25 to $50) by time of day ensures the girls are making a decent time commitment each time they work.
5) I agree with many of the comments about pricing. Clubs really thrive when they are almost full during peak periods. High cover charges, drink prices and VIP prices drive customers away. I would price drinks at the prevailing local bar rate plus $1. VIP area should be $50. These pricing levels would get butts in seats.
Hey, let's form a non-profit corporation, the American Strip Club Improvement Association, and start lobbying the industry (and local politicos).
Or not ;-)

I agree with the above comments. My GF danced at a club with a fair number of hard body types. It took her about a year before the "challenges" stopped. Fortunately for her, she is from New Jersey and grew up working in a fish store. She knows how to defend herself.

These days, read a book, or browse the discussion threads on TUSCL and offer useless advice.
How about another option, like driving 3 hours to get to a club? I've done this a few times, but only for a known, better than average experience. Was it worth it? No. Was it fun? Yes.

Well, isn't this a happy subject.
My opinions, for what they are worth (not much probably):
1) There are a few clubs I am really familiar with. I can spot a bogus or biased reviews for those clubs.
2) I tend to let these things slide. The bogus and biased reviewers don't last ling.
3) I can understand the pride factor. You don't like to see your club, or some of the people you know, disparaged or slandered.
4) I don't care whether Shadowcat objects to some reviews. All I care about is getting him to introduce me to the girls at PP if I happen to go there.

Ok, the first time I ever went to a strip club (Thee Dollhouse, Orlando), I was with work associates, enjoying my beer, and a girl sits down next to me and leans against me. I lean the other way, and whisper to the guy next to me, "What does she want?". He patiently explained the lap dance thing to me. Three minutes and $10 later, I was hooked! I took home a baseball cap from that visit.
On the serious side, my biggest rookie mistake was paying for VIP using my credit card at Baby Dolls in Dallas. Way too easy, and the worst value for dollar ever! Now, I use cash only. When it's gone, I'm gone.

I met another TUSCL member by chance in a club in Columbus OH once. I'm in Phoenix, but travel for business. Have been to OH, IN, LA, FL, CA in past year. TUSCL_Brother, I have been to your favorite club twice, but never got past the new guy status, so I could use an "introduction"!
I think someone suggested a Vegas meet on another thread. I would be open to that one. Can I bring my 27 yr old ex-stripper GF?

For those who like sleaze, might I also suggest Vic's Place in Irvington NJ, and Harry O's in Stamford CT. Like Henry VIII South, they are reliable. Vic's is an incredible value...from beer to happy for $50 or less. But ya gotta love the nubian princesses.

I had the good fortune to have a couple of projects in Detroit a few years back. I usually stayed near the airport (Hampton Inn), which gave me quick access to about 6 clubs. My favorite was the Playhouse, expensive but a very nice intimate feeling with the right girl. Flight Club was overproduced. Bogarts and Henry VIII were low end, good for mileage. Then there is Henry VIII South, which is the bottom of the barrel and reliable for extras. Yes, you can get spoiled. I would put Detroit area in the top 5 nationwide (Say Tampa, Dallas, Detroit, Phoenix, and select locations in NJ). But I'm still investigating.

I would say the drug use starts and escalates before the stripping, typically ages 15 to 17. Before the drug use might be sexual or physical abuse.

Here in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, we have a continuous Cougar cruise going on. I have a friend who has been frequenting the upscale bars in North Scottsdale, and the places at happy hour are thick with aging felines on the prowl. This is what the ladies do after they invest $50,000 in new teeth, face, boobs and stomach.
However, my friend also reports these same cougars have crazy issues, just like our young strippers. My friend has had 7 "relationships" in 2 years: booze, drugs, paranoia, manipulation, wild mood swings, you name it. It's a jungle out there!

Shadowcat, this restaurant http://www.pppatio.com/home/default.asp has been around since 1957. Could be the place. Of course, in the past 15 years the Phoenix area has grown so much, it barely resembles the town of old. Still, in 30 minutes I can be in the desert or mountains, and we are entering the nice time of year!

Potheadpl, I understand your concerns. We've all seen this. You should resist the idea of saving her, even in little ways. She needs a few more years of hard knocks experience before she will self motivate herself and begin to change her ways.
Samsung, I don't know where you get that whole free thing attitude. Here in AZ it is true as a single woman, you can get Medicaid health care and food stamps, plus a very small sum for child care. However, if you generate any of your own income, your benefits will be reduced, and if your income exceeds $8,000 per year, the benefits dry up. So, the "smart" girl will make $7,000 per year and get some benefits. That still puts her income way below the poverty line, and she will be going nowhere. If you take away the free stuff, then she can get 30 hours per week at Walmart or a fast food place to start. No benefits. Not much tax liability. Take home pay maybe $15,000. She is still poor, but now she pays for child care. Voila, she is worse off. I look at the problem not as the "free" aspect, but rather the "trapped" aspect. Remember, this hypothetical girl is not the brightest, not well educated, doesn't have skills.
So, bad boyfriend or welfare single mom? Or back home to whatever that is?

Jablake, I like the frustration part. I had a stripper ATF that occasionally crashed at my place. Slim, baby-girl face, super long platinum blonde hair, perky breasts. She never offered sex, but she did beg me to give her a shot in the ass for her diabetes (which was a side effect of her anti-psychotic meds). I'm not making this up.

I dated a beautiful Jamaican stripper. We went to a couple of fancy restaurants. I went to a nice restaurant one evening with the guys, ordered her the lamb chops for takeout, and brought them to her at the club. She sat at the bar with me and devoured them. The bartender and several other girls gathered around, making envious remarks. One of the girls suggested the Jamaican girl had an appetite for rich meat. To which I replied, "Yes, she does." Investment, $28. Payoff, priceless.

Yeah, my GF did some stills and some Internet videos. Small production company in Scottsdale. About $250 to $500 per session. She stopped after two times. The producer/director wanted to star in his own videos since the "male lead" didn't show up. We went on to the web site and the quality was pretty good. I must say, I handled it pretty freakin' well. ;-)

I was a regular at Bandaids in Phoenix, which is ethnically diverse. Plenty of girls there doing booty shaking. They even had a monthly "Rump Shakin'" contest. I got kinda bored, especially when the booty shaking started to be a major feature of lap dances. But every so often a girl would get on stage and just shake like crazy and that was enjoyable!
A qualified thumbs up...on stage, yes...as part of a LD, no.

Oh yeah, for one ATF I made up a CD from some songs fro iTunes I thought she would like. On a whim, I threw in "Ashokan Farewell" by Jay Ungar (Civil War documentary theme). It was a big hit. Judging by her reaction, it made us soul mates...well, temporarily.

I have lots of experience with cell phone rings. Six or more rings followed by voice mail means the phone is on but nobody answering. Three rings and then voice mail means low battery. One ring or no rings and then voice mail means phone is off.
