Best Cities To Live In 2023-24
I'm so free in California that I can no longer buy menthol cigarettes if I smoked. Now a law is passing to outlaw the ingredients in Skittles. I cherish that type of freedom of choice.

    BMW, Volvo & Subaru
I rented a BMW X3 this week. While it was nice, I don't think it was any better than a domestic crossover from Ford or GM. I get to pick what I want in the Hertz lot and was attracted to the shiny name since I had never driven one. Wasn't bad but I wouldn't pay extra for it.

When should a stripper retire from stripping?
I know one dancer well into her fifties that is still very successful and is in VIP so much that at times you don't know she's there because she stays busy. She has the home and other things to fall back on but why quit if you are still making a good living? This is more of a exception but I've seen more than one dancer do well into their fifties because of genes and a loyal customer base. I think there is no one size fits all answer.

    Need Strip Clubs in Airports
Howell does have a tunnel that has a sidewalk on it. I did walk that street under the tunnel. Early on in my career, I used to go to training in that area every year. When I was new and the training center was near the airport, I didn't always have a car so would walk from the hotel to that strip club a few times. This area of Milwaukee is like being in a big town, not a major city. The airport has a short approach road from Howell that doesn't really have a sidewalk, but cars are doing 25. If I had turned in a rental car and got stranded at that airport, I wouldn't hesitate to walk.

    Need Strip Clubs in Airports
I've walked from farther away, a hotel on Howell and Layton but I always have a car so haven't walked from the airport itself. I did walk from a hotel across the same street a few years ago. Howell is a fairly busy street but it's not crazy. It's not a bad area of Milwaukee if that's a concern. It's an industrial area. The oldest bar in Milwaukee, the Landmark, it right next door as well. They have a great happy hour. The Final Approach is a restaurant near the airport that has decent Prime Rib. I asked for the hottest horseradish they had and when they brought it out, all the locals stopped in their tracks to see my reaction. It definitely made my eyes water.

While there might not be sidewalks on the road out, this map shows it's easily walkable as long as you aren't dragging around luggage. https://www.mapquest.com/us/wisconsin/airport-lounge-6890813

    OT: Electric Vehicles – thoughts?
Interesting read if you are a "roadtrip" type of person. I rented a Tesla once and it was cool but seems there is a "charge" anxiety that doesn't exist with a normal vehicle. https://www.yahoo.com/news/man-took-tesla-road-trip-073000234.html

    Most Pointless Professions
Strip club manager comes to mind. They just walk around in a suit and I don't know what they really do. Strip club DJ as well. I don't even notice the music too much. Let the girls play their music through an app. Seems the manager and DJ just grift tips from the dancers.

The pictures make it look like a strip club. I think that they are trying to portray a lot of high-end fluff in the website. But, I don't know since it hasn't opened.

    Chicago - Let's Go Brandon !!
I grew up in the SF Bay area and always loved a trip to SF. I've been going to the city for many years on my own and do a solo trip or meet friends. I've always known that it could be rough but I travel all the time so rough doesn't bother me. The last couple of times I flew in and went to a Giants game with a buddy, it was the first time I felt uneasy just walking from Union Square or the Moscone Center area during the day. Those pictures you see of drug use, people shitting on the street and aggressive panhandlers is very real. If I walk with the game crowd or with a group, I will walk but by myself, I won't anymore. I used to meet friends and stay in the city and after they went back to the suburbs, I would go out. It's just risky now. I'm very saddened that a city I've always loved has become as bad as what you see on that lying Fox News but it has. When criminals know there is no consequences for their crimes, it's a matter of time until things are unsafe for all. It makes me sad.

    Jury Duty
I get called for Jury Duty at least every two years regularly. If I have to give a week or so, I don't mind that civic duty. However, if they want me to be available for long trials, I can't really do that. I've been on a trial jury 3 times and was even forced to be foreman once. My last call was for Federal Grand Jury that requires you to be available once a week for 18 months. I sent evidence of my regular travel and, luckily, was excused from the type of service. If you need to get out, it is best to be open with them. Also, if you are allowed to reschedule, make the new day around a long holiday weekend. Lawyer and Jugdes like their long weekends too and will be in court less on those weeks.

How much of a fine or jail time would deter you from the hobby?
There are fines and jail time for drunk driving but a lot of people from all aspects of society still do it, at least once in a while. We could answer this as a hypothetical but there might be one case where many would just say "fuck it, I've got to see more of this girl." Strip clubs aren't illegal and just going to watch girls dance is still legal. It's the propositioning for sex for money that is illegal. Just propositioning a hot girl for sex is still legal as well.

    Single-Clubber or Multi-Clubber?
I do a mixture of single and multiple clubs depending on the area I'm visiting. I will go to as many as 3 clubs in a day in the Tampa area but definitely have a favorite where I am a semi-regular, in that I'm recognized by staff.

Type of credit card you use?
I've had a capital one card that has no fees and pays 1% back for decades. It was one of the first cards that paid back and had no fees when I got it. Since, some others that pay more have come out but I still kept this. While it's generally a good thing, capital one watches purchases like a hawk. When capital one refused a purchase on Amazon, I gave up and got an Amazon card that also pays back a percentage. Last year, I was offered $200 by my bank to open a card and spend about $5K. Since I paid off my house and my credit score was affected by not having enough credit any longer, I got that card as I knew I had a big plumbing expendature coming up. It was an easy way to get $200. I paid off the balance and don't really use that card. While not really a credit card, I do have a card that is tied to a line of credit on my home as it can be used to purchase something super expensive like a new vehicle. I haven't used it much since buying a vehicle a while back and paying that off. It seems weird that you need to have a lot of available credit to keep a very high credit score but you do. I pay off my cards monthly and just use my capital one card as my primary and the Amazon card for purchases on that site. I have a decent amount of rewards on each that I will cash in for something fun. I travel enough for work to get airline and hotel points so I don't need those cards. Many of those cards also come with a fee.

I went to a small club in Rock Springs a couple of years ago. I wouldn't drive out of my way to go to it. It was OK to kill an hour of time since I was in Rock Springs anyway.

    OT: World Baseball Classic
I had a chance to see the US team play an exhibition against the SF Giants a couple of weeks ago. Initially, I didn't care about the WBC but it was kind of exciting to see the group of talent playing on one team. The one thing they did during WBC was play under old rules without the pitch clock and with the shift. I have to say I wasn't a huge fan of the rule changes because I'm a baseball traditionalist. However, after watching a dozen games with the new rules, I like that the games are faster, balls hit up the middle are hits again and more teams are using speed to attempt more base stealing. I've changed my mind about the rule changes and like them now.

    We all forget
At one point in time, some hard-ass at San Diego PD Vice got a hard-on for any type of sexualy oriented type of work. They ran stings on escorts and their customers pretty much full time. They also went after dancers and clubs for any type of infraction they could find using undercover officers. A 6' rule technically exists in San Diego for dancers and patrons. They aso tried to buy drugs from staff. The infractions allowed them to go after the liquor license of the clubs and essentially kill off the clubs. Today, there is only one single strip club that serves alcohol. So, it does happen but I was never worried about the police as a customer. The worry I always had in San Diego was the manager coming over and nagging the dancers and me for doing things that weren't allowed. They didn't do much more than nag and we could continue when the manager's back was turned.
