They never tell you what you need to know.

I am shocked Detroit is not on this list!?!? Obviously they weren’t taking strip clubs into account.

If I was going to leave California, Raleigh Durham and Boulder (3rd and 4th on their list) would definitely be on my radar.

Color me shocked Green Bay is a top 150 sized metro. I guess it's #3 in Wisconsin which is a midsized state?

You know what if you’re looking for a more boring sort of quiet lifestyle (nothing wrong with that) it’s not a terrible list. But to be real not a ton of exciting places on there maybe a couple exceptions.

Fun list.

I’m kinda partial to smaller areas where there is just enough crime or maybe just an industrial area, to keep things from getting too uppity, but also has a university that does just enough for the community to make the area punch above its weight with amenities. Examples are places like Lubbock TX, Tucson AZ, Springfield MO, Eugene OR, etc.

Green Bay does have delicious kringles, and that the main thing I remember about that area. Yummmmmm

Have those people doing the ranking ever been to Green Bay in January ?

They didn't factor in weather. A lot of nice, affordable cities have shit weather stopping them from becoming too popular and expensive.

I moved to Tampa last year. I grew up here then left to make money cause Florida dont pay shit. Its definitely changed. More homeless and litter than ever before. Absolutely zero enforcement of traffic laws. Idiots crashing daily clogging up the interstate. No minor crime law enforcement. Police are absent and probably overwhelmed. Which makes it an AWESOME place for strip clubs! They are thinly veneered brothels now. Lots of variery in dancers cause again, there is little opportunity to make meaningful money in Florida outside of remote work. Oh and we got these weird grey market casinos popping up on every corner, draining addicted senior citizens pensions. Trump was right, Florida is a shithole right now. Suburbs are nice, just wish they didnt tear down all the orange groves and wetlands.

Green Bay is affordable and has good job prospects. It might also be a good quality of life, for a white family. But, they lost me when they claimed it had big city amenities. The Packers, brandy old fashions, and cheese curds ?

You almost certainly haven’t lived in Tampa (I do) and former president trump did not say that Tampa is a SH.
As I say to all you certain spreaders of internet nonsense who like to trash Florida, for whatever your motivation, please do not live here. That’s a win-win. You can go buying “bud lights” at titty bars far from here.

Just stay away from Florida the cities are not safe the people are unfriendly and we don’t want any more visitors.

All the cities you think should be on this list were probably there 5-10 years ago and now have become too popular, meaning the crime has probably increased, they’ve become too expensive, work commutes have become excessive, etc. etc.

Cost of living aside I wouldn’t mind living in at least half the cities on that list.

If you really think about it and look around, most of the best, most iconic American cities have been taken over by crook loving commies. Except Miami probably but tbh that doesn’t even really feel like an American city. I gotta give Cuban Americans credit though, they don’t play that bullshit. Good for them.

I mean, Ann Arbor is about the same travel time to Romulus as downtown Detroit would be.

Why would anyone live in a city. Happy in our founded in 1717 suburb.

Green Bay is the place to be if you’re a chubby-chaser and into pale-white-women with cankles (not that there’s anything wrong with that)

Yeah – we’re barely-above-sea-level – any more people and experts say half-the-state will be submerged under water

Founder can check my IP, been living and posting from Tampa for almost a year. Easily the worst state Ive lived in. There is a lot more personal freedom out West. Unfortunately my parents are elderly and dont want to leave so Ill pretend to be a good little Catholic until they pass then Im out of here again.

Personal freedom out west? Out west in what country, because the least free states in this country are California, Oregon and Washington, all in the west.

I always take these rankings with a grain of salt. I don’t think they ever give enough weight to climate / weather. Cold / Hot and snowfall are important factors to lots for people for quality of life and they are often ignored - Minneapolis for example typically usually always near the top in these rankings.

And this list - Grand Rapids and Syracuse are among the snowiest big cities in the country yet they made the top 25

I'm so free in California that I can no longer buy menthol cigarettes if I smoked. Now a law is passing to outlaw the ingredients in Skittles. I cherish that type of freedom of choice.

Minneapolis is an amazing city if you ignore the weather but that's a huge omission. On top of the cold enough to kill you winters, the summers are hot and sticky and full of mosquitos.

Green Bay at #1 is a joke. Papi nailed it - overweight and largely white. Very cold much of the year and super isolated since to the east is a massive lake, to the west is Minnesota and to the north is Canada.

Cool, now try to buy weed in Florida.
