In addition to RL,& 2 others, I added a recent high profile poster simply because wading through all his stuff to get to something I was interested in was getting to be wearisome. One website "nuance" I noticed when logging in is that the "previous 25 posts" icon no longer appears- could it be that poster has been so voluminous that it literally takes hours just to get rid of his threads, and have new "resorted post order" be effective now??

I have found, that even for legit reviews that one has to read between the lines. Often, discernment reference point starts at the day of the week, & the time of the day reviewed. One man coming in on off peak Mo. afternoon may love the laid back/intimate atmosphere, and the "extra" attention that he gets from the 30 something "7" who knows how to please, while another may lament at the lack of hordes of 20 something barbie dolls, and "things happening". Likewise, one reviewer may be google-eyed at all the hotties to choose from on Sa. night, while another may hate the crowds,the unavailability of stageside seating, and that the 6-10 dancers in a row that he asked for lapdance were already "taken".
As for HLDC reviews- yeah, the earlier ones looked like shill jobs, but as time went on some credible reviewers(eg- those with many reviews & diverse geographical experience) gave some positive, if not, glowing reviews. I saw a fair number of lukewarm reviews that occured during off peak hrs. that cited mediocre dancer attractiveness as a grading factor, while some 8ish grades were on a more active night shift. Yet, nj-fans writeup prompted me to investigate further. Upon further reading of reviews & reviewers background, I'm reasonably convinced of the possibility that shillls/freeloaders may be getting more sophisticated. Specifically, a reviewer that has reviewed several clubs have remarkable similarities in all reviews: They're long on generalities & platitudes, short on length & specifics. High profile clubs are often chosen & review almost looks like it could have been gleaned from 2 or 3 prior writeups on club.
I guess we'll recall caveat of "all writings here should be considered fiction", and chuckle.

Suggestion to dude who can read reviews, but doesn't wish to "point & click" for another 5-10 minutes through 20 or so more clubs to save $10-$15 per dance & maybe $100plus/visit (Hey if your time is worth that much, cover charges, $20 dances, & $7 drinks should be a non-issue).
1) Check into Holiday Inn Express across from Baby Dolls (They have free high speed wireless, a free continental breakfast, and a convenience store nearby with plenty of cold beer south of $7).
2) Go to free porn site & jack off.

CW- I don't think you're entirely out to lunch on this one. Fact: To post on "DB", all one has to do is register a nickname. To merely read board, anyone with a computer can do so.
IMO, the posts that start with: "Anyone know of some good clubs in..." are often symptomatic of a freeloader. The kind of focussed & specific info these folks really want to know can only be found in review section, which requires paid membership, or submitting a certain number of reviews over a period of time.
Last time I looked, its the same way @ TER, which, btw, nj-fan wishes to model tuscl after. Yes, the reviews there are candid & descriptive, but can only be viewed with paid membership,or submitting reviews.
That said, I think VIP thread OP asked a good legitimate broad based question that could (and did) generate a good ammount give & take discussion.

Belushi..... Kinnison....... John Candy.............. & now George Carlin?? GC is the only 1 I saw live (Vegas), what a riot. If 1 gets the urge to see a performance, they should act on it, because comic might not be around tommorow. Go to you tube, watching various Carlin clips (almost) guaranteed to keep 1 away from clubbing for an hr. or so. (Ditto for doing anything productive).

Welcome back, Chandler!! To answer your ??, Yes and No.
Yes, I think it confuses issue a bit. No, I don't think that it provides that much more insight.Yes, I still read between the lines to find out what I'd really like to know (after ranking city clubs on a numerical point scale).
However, I like newer system in a way, because it allows for fractional grades which can further refine ratings & choices. What I'd do to a club that I think is better than a 7, but not quite an 8, would be to downgrade 1 of 3 factors that bug me the most. For example, if club B has equal mileage & dancers to club A, but higher prices, I'd downgrade value grade. If club B equal, but has less attractive dancers, I'd downgrade that. If club B equal, except for uncomfortable lapdance chairs, or lousy ventilation system, I'll tweak the grades appropriately.
As for yes/no answers- for some people, smoking vs non-smoking & other factors may be an issue, or a determining factor for choosing 1 club over another.// Good thread,btw.

BG- It sounds to me like you're interested in going to a place where you don't have to rent a car. Where some cheap hotels just happen to have complimentary airport van shuttle service AND happen to be within walking distance of several stripclubs.
Sorry, can't help you there, because everythings a tradeoff. The $60 you save on rental car 1 place can translate into $60 more airfare or wasted lapdances in another place. Just pick out club(s), you'd like to try, and if total cost (airfare, hotel, transportation, etc.) fit your budget, to paraphrase Nike ad: "Just do it".

DJ- I haven't seen her solo act, but I did see her a couple of times in the mid-90's when she was part of the "Blondage" duo with Julia Ann. At that time, she was "tat- discreet" with a smallish Scorpio tat. Agree w. MG on current full sleeve tat. But, yeah, I'd at least go to 1 of her shows for the hell of it. (She was a PH POM several yrs. ago)

I started a similar thread a few mos. back. While I agree that stageside vibes are a very good indicator of LD performance, it is offset by tacit expectation of tipping dancers while sitting there coupled with reluctance of dancers (or taboo) approaching stageside customers DURING performance, thus missing several floorside approaches. Dollar bills can vanish rather quickly with stageside sitting. A few posters advocated sitting in spot away from stage, yet close enough where you could quickly go up, tip a desired prospect, and let her know your interest.

I've done that a few times, though the motivation has been time as well as $$$. The time spent clubbing can be time spent cleaning out old junk, getting house/condo prepped for potential sale, etc.

This ? is akin to asking how cold it has to get before you feel the need to put a jacket on. As wind speed, relative humidity, cloud cover, etc. factor into the later, things like how long dancer has been dancing, shifts/wk. worked, number of pregnancies, drug/alcohol usage, etc. may wear quicker on 20 somethings vs 30 somethings. I've met several 35 plus dancers that seem more "attuned" to me, and less stuck on themselves, which I find appealing.

p72: Please do go to Tucson, and post reviews of experience. I-10 has some long stretches with high speed limits. Sometimes, perspective on clubs compared with other clubs can give readers a good workable reference frame.
z: I haven't been to Tuscon in over 10 yrs- back then, ANY customer initiated contact was a strict no-no. How things do change over time!

A quick review:
80's: Practically all "no touchee" kinds of clubs, except maybe Houston & a few others with "Texas style couch dances". Private shows , or table dances (ala MJ Peter clubs 87-88 on) were done on mini stage or portable platform and strictly air.
IMO,things didn't start loosening up significantly until the mid 90's , coincidentally with release of the movie "Showgirls". More places had at least solid 1 way contact, but as of 1997, there were STILL some clubs in So.FL that had those portable platform airshows.
Today, I'd say there's a higher % of more upscale clubs, vs neighborhood dives in the 80's. Contact levels are higher, as are prices. Specific club examples that I experienced in both 80's & today to follow in future post...

A couple of unanswered ???'s
1) When you say "3rd encounter", did the prior 2 encounters involve lapdances, or just stage tipping or quick hi?
2) Why did you only get 1 dance from her??
You sorta answered #2 with "she doesn't take pictures- sounds like you got bitchy vibes from her then, & wanted to cut your losses.
I wouldn't generalize too much- yeah, the best looker(s) can be stuck up (only do VIP's & not regular dances, low mileage, etc),but there's also been the times.........
