> VP Kamala gave a better performance. No doubt about it. She fired up her base for sure. But did she win over any undecided people? My contention has always been there's virtually no undecided voters in this election. The election is going to come down to turnout. So firing up the base is what this debate was about. To your point, I think Kamala did that. I also think Trump did not, in fact, he made his base look foolish with fake claims about pet eating immigrants, and his claims that the 2020 election was stolen.

Trip Report Mon-Wed Aug 2024
Thanks for the report, OP! Rising prices, which will continue as the peso continues to strengthen, are definitely aggravating. But I find TJ and HK are still incredible deals as compared to anything state-side, IMHO. I mean $150 is expensive compared to $100 2 years ago, but it's still an absolutely deal compared to ITC or OTC activities at any US club, or hiring an escort. Even a shitty HJ from an old lady at an AMP costs more than $150 these days.

Sounds like an amazing time. I'm curious if you'll share here what the OTC adventure cost you? (Or you can just tell me about it in person when I see you in TJ end of September!)

Desire is #2!
> Do I think it's the 2nd best club in America? > I doubt it but it's definitely the best in New England. I think people tend to review clubs relative to their other experiences, so this is par for the course that a high spot in the top 40 indicates its a good club, relative to other clubs in the area. My question is, what's the rhyme or reason behind FKK Sharks continuously disappearing and reappearing on that list?

@FrustratedInTheUS > So is "fuck" coger or chingar? Two choices were given. Are these taboo words that can't be spelled out in public? Coger is the very you want to use to talk about fucking in LatAm. Literally, it means to take. So: I want to fuck you already / Quiero cogerte ya Chingar is Mexican slang, and though a translate app will tell you it also means "to fuck" it has mellow rapey vibes and you should be cautious with it. Somewhere above I included a link to the history of the word, which is interesting, but in short, as a gringo you should be cautious with this word for it's rapey, colonialist conotations. You'll see chingar used in expressions that don't literally mean fucking more often than the actual context of sex, for example: Fuck yourself / Chinga tu madre (literally, fuck your mother) There's also the very Joder which can also mean to fuck, but usually is used more colloquially like: Don't screw around / ¡No jodas! In short though, to talk about actual sex, you want to use the verb Coger.

Harris picks Walz for VP
> I’m scared. Why did you guys decide to run the senile, anti-democracy, convicted felon, rapist in the first place? There were so many other qualified candidates, some I might have even voted for. As it stands, the democrats just need to fire up their base and then let Trump keep doing stupid shit - like attacking Republican GA Gov. Kemp - and the election will be over.

The point I was making was I think this move was actually about governing than politics. She wants to hold the Senate and keep those Gov mansions when she wins.

I would have preferred Shapiro or Kelly too. But, I gather that part of the consideration here is the balance of the Senate and ownership of the Governor's mansions. Nominating Kelly or Shapiro would have meant a competitive election to hold the Senate Seat and Governor's mansions, respectively. In contrast, nominating Walz runs a much lower risk of turning over the governorship of Minnesota.

JD Vance checks a lot of boxes for Trump too. He's raised in appalachia, which resonates with the rural, working class white voters Trump needs to turn out. He's a former VC, so he's in tight with the Silicon Valley techbros Trump needs to fund his campaign. And he's from the midwest (Ohio), incredibly important in an election year where PA, MI, and WI are highly likely to be the swing states that decide the election. With only something like 18 months experience in the Senate, Vance is one of the least qualified VP picks we've seen, even less qualified than Sarah Palin. One might even say he was hired for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion reasons 🤣

> Hyperbolic fearmongering. > Seriously, too much "Politico" for you Ron. To draw these inferences, I did some reading on the far left site of gop.com. The first two planks of the GOP's platform this election are: https://prod-static.gop.com/media/RNC2024-Platform.pdf 1. SEAL THE BORDER, AND STOP THE MIGRANT INVASION 2. CARRY OUT THE LARGEST DEPORTATION OPERATION IN AMERICAN HISTORY If Trump is elected, say goodbye to your favorite cubana and hello to concentration camps.

> I hate it when anyone uses the Hitler reference so casually. Yeah, so it's crazy that Trump's own VP pick once compared him to Hitler then, isn't that? Shouldn't that tell voters something? The bottom line is, the comparison is apt. The inventor of Godwin's Law has even said the Hitler comparison is apt. https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2023/12/19/godwins-law-trump-hitler-00132427 He's tried to overturn one election, with fake electors paperwork, and a mob that assaulted the Capitol building on Jan 6th. He recently promised evangelicals that if they vote for him this year, "you won't have to vote again." He banned Muslims from entering the country. He separated children from their parents. He calls immigrants vermin, diseased, invaders, kills, and has said they are "poisoning our blood" - exactly the terms Hitler used to use. The current GOP platform calls for the LARGEST DEPORTATION OPERATION IN AMERICAN HISTORY. When we have 11 million immigrants in concentration champs under Trump's second term will people still complain you can't compare him to Hitler? When our republic is lost and we're ruled by a Trumpian dictatorship, can we call him Hitler then?

Club Managers...STOP hiring Fat Hoes and tatted hoes.
I agree with @TFP on this point: > c. Another possible solution? More cubanas! Once again thank god for the latinas... Clubs also need more cubanas, but also dominicans, mexicans, etc. Also agree with @BookGuy that we all need to hold the line on not buying dances from overweight girls. If that's all a club has to offer, leave the club. Tattoos I have mixed feelings about. It's definitely a Gen Z thing to get all tatted up so I don't think that's going away. Personally, some tattoos are interesting to me, but I just hate the really bad ones, that look like they were drawn by a 5th grader.

Huge mansion nearby the club
I can see the area you're talking about with the McD's and but can't find the mansion you mentioned. Map here: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.0280882,-76.9168426,17.67z?entry=ttu It could just be a private owner who is stubborn about selling his land, there's a lot of that in areas outside the beltway that are newly developing (as Beltsville is). Or it could be something NatSec related. That corridor between 95 & the BW parkway is like NatSec central, with tons of contractors and the NSA headquarters in that area.

Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities…
@puddy I'm frustrated by the firehose of moving goalposts and disinformation in your post. This will be my last comment in the thread, and I want to focus on just a single part of your response, in which there is an abundantly clear record. >>“Also, Orange Man IS FUCKING BAD. He's rapist. A friend of Epstein's. A business fraud. He once tear gassed peaceful protestors so he could hold up a bible. He tried to overthrow our government. He separated children from their parents and put them in cages.” > More nonsense propaganda. Only one with a whiff of truth is business fraud. Stop reading liberal rags, they’re obviously working you into a coronary. Here's the record: > He's rapist. AP News: Jury finds Trump liable for sexual abuse, awards accuser $5M https://apnews.com/article/trump-rape-carroll-trial-fe68259a4b98bb3947d42af9ec83d7db > A friend of Epstein's. In a 2002 interview with New York Magazine https://nymag.com/nymetro/news/people/n_7912/, he said "I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy, He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.” Here's a video of them partying together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLcfpU2cubo There's too many photos of them together to count but take your pic: https://images.google.com/search?q=trump+and+epstein And most importantly, Donald Trump appointed Alexander Acosta, the DA who originally let Epstein off the hook, to his Labor Secretary. https://www.reuters.com/article/world/trumps-labor-secretary-acosta-resigns-amid-epstein-case-idUSKCN1U71UI/ > A business fraud. Multiple times over. CBS News: Trump fraud ruling adds to his string of legal losses in New York https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-fraud-ruling-new-york-legal-losses/ > He once tear gassed peaceful protestors so he could hold up a bible. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump_photo_op_at_St._John%27s_Church > He tried to overthrow our government. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/January_6_United_States_Capitol_attack https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/12/trumps-coup-before-january-6/620998/ > He separated children from their parents and put them in cages. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_administration_family_separation_policy If you think you're going to persuade me that after all this shit, he's not a terrible human and horrible president, you're welcome to have the last word in this thread. To tie this back to OP's point, believing the absurdity that Trump is innocent of his numerous crimes against humanity will lead to many more atrocities, like concentration camps for immigrants and the disappearance of your favorite Cubana in the club.
