I don’t think Rick’s and XTC are beloved by TUSCL, but they were always a decent middle of the road option for me. I wouldn’t lump them in with Deja Vu.

Most clubs I go to don’t get reviewed much. If I’m a regular at a club I don’t wanna post the first review of a club they had in 2 years and have some asshole manager or dancer trying to figure out who I am.
Travel club visits are a different story, but in that case I’m probably going to the clubs that have a lot of reviews already, so…

I used to go up to the stage with a few bucks and I’d get boobs in my face and a promise to come see me after she got off stage (even if it was BS a lot of the time). That was like strip clubbing 101 but it feels like ancient history now that make it rain is the new normal.
Anyway, it’s smart to keep a few spare 1s in your pocket so you can get out of a situation like that without looking cheap.

bkk’s story is familiar, in my experience the girls have no regard for your clothing and no awareness of the fact that some guys are shooters. It would be smart to grab a handful of napkins before you go to VIP if you think extras are likely

Like dirtysecrets said, it’s far from new but it’s a shell of what it was. I’ve found it useful for intel over the years and there’s still a decent amount of chatter on the Texas boards.

Some guy on another thread had a good point, the good strip clubs in America go in a ring from the Northeast down through the South and up the west coast
I think that shows Midwestern states in general have been hostile to strip clubs. It’s not always a clear cut R/D thing

One club recently instituted a policy that dancers must hold the gentleman’s hand all the way to the lap dance booth or pay a fine.
At another club a girl told me the owner personally fined her $50 for cursing. (This is by no means an upscale club)

I took ballroom classes a long time ago. One of my teachers was moving away, so it was our last lesson together and she wanted to show me something. She got me into a close hold with my crotch right up on her thigh and we danced that way for one song.
I finally understood what all the fuss was about back in the day, lol.
There are a few more thoughts I had:
1. Covid set the precedent that governors can shut down bars and clubs by fiat. In 2021 it seems so old fashioned that strip clubs can stay open because of lack of court admissible evidence of criminal activity.
2. Porn and strip clubs used to have a beneficial coexistence. It used to be way more common for clubs to bring in porn stars as feature dancers.
3. Cardi B effect. Some guys on here complained dancer attitudes got slightly worse after Hustlers came out.

So what killed taxi dance clubs - the article says death by a thousand cuts from regulations and police harassment, pretty much exactly like strip clubs. Did they have a chance to survive or come back?
My guess is no because of all kinds of changes in culture and economics, but TV was a big one. Dancing adapted to be TV friendly. Dance teachers rebranded their business to appeal to housewives watching celebs on TV. Now ballroom dancing is pretty much exclusively square churchy middle class whites.
Today pole dancing and belly dancing are popular hobbies and young women insist they’re “not sexual”. When talk I to strippers under 25 it’s very common for them to ramble on about pole dancing the same way women talk about yoga or being vegan or whatever.

I think one major difference is (according to the article) these were considered exclusively a working class phenomenon. There wasn’t a culture of businessmen, celebrities, etc. frequenting the clubs. I think it makes sense if the dance price was the same for everyone and there was no such thing as VIP rooms.

Still no Cubans out here in this part of flyover country and I doubt there ever will be.
Actually there was one Cubana who showed up here for a couple weeks during the peak of the lockdowns. It definitely a rare sight, and I found it especially odd since I thought they always traveled in pairs

HB 1540 was filed by state Rep. Senfronia Thompson, D-Houston. It passed both chambers of the state legislature and was signed into law by Gov. Greg Abbott.

Another thing I always wondered about was going to the club on company business, bosses taking their employees to the club, or sales guys taking their clients, etc.
I’m under 40 and I’ve always had to work under super-PC corporate culture, so it sounds absolutely crazy to me, but reading what older guys have posted I guess it was pretty common not too long ago.

I think it’s common for any girl who’s decently popular to have a boyfriend or manager running her page - not to say the girls couldn’t do it themselves but it’s just clearly the best time/$$$ deal for them. So I don’t bother with DMs much and I don’t take it seriously when I do.

Maybe strip clubs have made too much of an impression on pop culture to disappear, but I think that just means the line between strip clubs and night clubs will continue to blur until strip clubs become the caricature of how they’re portrayed in movies and rap videos. Just getting crowds in the door to blow money on bottles and stage tips.

It sounds like OP isn't talking about making it rain or stage tipping at all, he sits at the bar and waits for a dancer to come up and he feeds her 1s while she sits on his lap/grinds on him/etc.
This is actually pretty common at one of my local clubs, but YMMV will definitely vary depending on the club. I can imagine the dancer getting annoyed if it's not something most customers do there.

A couple convenience stores near me jacked up their prices 10% this week. Now would be a good time for everyone to think about how to cut your expenses, if the covid lockdowns didn't force you to already.

My local club is still getting hit by this plus the usual summer slump. Around 9:30 pm the A team dancers start going home one by one, then after midnight the customers clear out.
Somehow things were actually a bit better during lockdown when most of the other night spots were closed.
