    SELECTION IS KEY
@georgebailey In that way strip clubs are like casinos: most people that walk in the door have no idea how to quit when before they take a big loss, so "the house always wins."

If the shutdown turns out to be permanent (or even long-term enough to prompt dancers to shift locations), I suspect you'll see a split similar to the "Sandy Springs Dancer Diaspora" when 3 clubs closed simultaneously (1 extras, 1 non-extras, and 1 that probably was close to failing on its own). Non-extras dancers are probably most likely to jump to Pony since it also operates 7 days a week and has broadly similar clientele. Tattletale could draw some but it's never had the same kind of day shift business that Oasis, Pony, or even the Cheetah tend to draw. And of course the Pony may be on borrowed time if they ever run out of legal maneuvers, and the reports indicated the Cheetah had finally been sold given the skyrocketing value of the land it occupies. By 2025 there may not be a truly great club left in the city.

The more they stay the same
Not only is the going rate for dances here still $10/song, the standard 30 minute VIP pricing remains $100 to the house/$200 to the dancer for 30 minutes. If you were quoted $20 dances or $400+ VIP you are talking with a ROB and should move on immediately.

Glad to see the king isn't letting permanent closure of his preferred castle keep him locked down forever. I am curious, not to be political, why you would go without a mask, though? Especially given your risk factors, it just seems - no offense - like a @Gawker move.

@Gammanu I've never had the pleasure of clubbing in south Florida, but having spent significant time in Detroit, COI, and Follies over the years I would agree with Eastcoaster's assessment. Atlanta's "lap dances" in most clubs are actually table(side) dances, and increasingly nothing but air in most metro clubs. But at Follies you didn't even have to buy a dance to get what would require a VIP trip in any other market. I think a hand job at your table was considered "first base."

It's been a long time since I bothered to recon the area but every report I've heard indicates 8 Mile is dead (which was true to a great extent before the pandemic). Between the past legal issues and the current environment (public health and economic), I can't foresee a scenario where reopening Penthouse would be viable.

What Strip Clubs in Atlanta Are Open Now POST Covid-19 (Corona Virus)?
As far as I'm aware, at this point virtually every club in Atlanta has reopened with exception of Follies (which per unconfirmed reports may now be permanently closed due to legal issues, unrelated to Covid).

COI girls moving to TJs in Stanton
Orange County seems to have gone out of their way to let Disneyland (or Disney-adjacent revenue operations) open back up, so it's not that surprising to hear the clubs are following that trend. Will be interesting to see how things play out longer term - though not all they once were, I can't envision the COI clubs being wiped out entirely the way Follies seems to have been.

Danica Patrick and Aaron Rodgers split after 2 yrs
@goldmongerATL Rodgers has been vague at best about his family estrangement, but Munn has been pretty explicit in saying that the story she was the cause of a split is BS. Paraphrasing her side of things, not only was Rodgers already not talking to his parents before they started dating, she also tried to encourage him to mend fences. Nothing Rodgers has said contradicts that, and more tellingly, his family estrangement continued well after he & Munn broke up. So draw what conclusions you will. As for Olivia's personality, I think she's a lot smarter and more ambitious than most people's first impression would suggest. She also seems to be "crazy" in the sense we often use to describe strippers - a wild side that can be tough to keep up with, but if you can stay in the saddle it's the ride of a lifetime 😎

@JimGassagain Sudekis is married to Olivia Wilde (best remembered as the bisexual "13" on House). https://www.maxim.com/.image/ar_8:10%2Cc_fill%2Ccs_srgb%2Cfl_progressive%2Cg_faces:center%2Cq_auto:good%2Cw_620/MTM3MzA1Mjc2OTA5ODg4Njgw/olivia-wilde-promojpg.jpg Olivia Munn started as a presenter on G4TV and The Daily Show, moving up to larger acting roles like HBO's The Newsroom and Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse. https://i.imgur.com/5A4QjoL.jpg Munn and Rodgers were together for several years before breaking up (haven't heard any reliable reports of her dating anyone else seriously since). Danica was a major step down for Rodgers but my read on him is the same as Shailynn's.

How many Clubs will survive the other side of Covid-19
The survival of clubs post-Coronavirus will depend mainly on what the post-Corona economy looks like. We're in truly unprecedented territory with respect to how long it will take to reach some sort of "new normal" - whether a vaccine, herd immunity, or other resolution to the pandemic. Unemployment will remain staggeringly high until then, and the longer it lasts the harder it will be for any given business to come back when this is over.

Fear of COVID-19 making people seek healthy lifestyles?
Sorry but call me skeptical that this is a trend, at least in any significant numbers. My suspicion is a few things are happening: First, because there have been disruptions in the supply chain for virtually all "regular" grocery items, people are looking for replacements in the "healthy" section/stores. Second, you're paying way more attention than you ever did before to where other people are shopping, by location or within the store - since avoiding a crowd has become a life safety issue. Third, the closure of restaurants has increased grocery sales across the board, not just in healthier chains. But generally those healthier options have a shorter shelf life, so the same pre-Covid number of people shopping for "healthy" foods would be at the store more often, but that's not actually an increase in the number of healthy shoppers. I'm sure there are *some* people that are taking the additional time to cook as an opportunity to improve their health. But you just have to look at the number of people nationwide complaining about masks and continuing to spread the virus to see the majority of Americans generally don't take good care of themselves.

    Fighting the good fight, but...
$10 Is still Atlanta's going rate per song, but I've heard reports from various clubs about possible inflation. Were girls consistently asking for $20-30 per dance, or were you throwing out some extra cash unprompted? And how would you describe the contact level (air dance vs. full two-way contact) at those prices?

Officials Confirm 13 COVID-19 Cases Linked to Romulus Club, Restaurant
Never been inside this club before, sounds like that was a good call. Still, I hope all affected are lucky enough to recover quickly with minimal health impacts. Hopefully the re-closure has come ahead of similar outbreaks at any other metro clubs.

ANYBODY EVER OT WITH A GIRL VIA INSTAGAM OR FACEBOOK-?
I've generally stayed away from social media for privacy reasons, but have on occasion used anonymous accounts for, among other things, scouting talent at a club I may visit (particularly if traveling, pre-pandemic). Of course this was limited contact prior to meeting ITC, not trying to score OTC without setting foot in the club. For a certain type of woman/dancer it is possible to go directly from social media to OTC, but let's just say the barrier to entry for those women is low. Using the "social" aspect of social media to make something other than a transaction happen takes above average game, and old-fashioned patience, so I can see why regular clubgoers might prefer more efficient routes to satisfaction.

Welp Michigan Clubs will be closing again
In fainess to the young/dumb twentysomethings, it would have helped if the CDC et al had done a better job of putting the fear of Covid in that age bracket. If you don't pay attention to substantive news sources, it's pretty easy to still have the false impression that you have low risk of contracting the virus, and even if you do it's "just like the flu" unless you're past retirement age and/or have some serious prior medical condition. In reality there are cases where young, otherwise healthy people have been hit hard by this thing. It may be rare, but do you want to roll the dice with being on a ventilator just to get drunk with your buddies?

    Finally a worth while evening!
Pretty sure you're giving the DJ too much credit for noticing when people come & go. My experience here (and Bogarts) is they call a drink special about once an hour, so depending when you came in you may have to wait five minutes or 55 minutes, but statistically you're unlikely to walk in just as the special is called.

Welp Michigan Clubs will be closing again
Nothing specific in the announcement, but obviously the primary metric is number & trend for new infections. The state of emergency has been extended to July 16, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if that gets pushed out again. Given the incubation period it'll take at least a couple of weeks for the latest restrictions (and more people self-restricting based on the spike) to show up in the overall trends.
