Hitchhiking - how far have you gone?
As I posted the last time this was asked (in August 2020): I used to hitchhike *all* the freakin' time during the early 1970s -- more times than I can remember. I don't think I ever did it locally for short hops. It was always long-distance trips, usually 200 miles (like from home to college or vice versa) or 500 miles (like from college to Nashville TN). I didn't have a car (obviously), but there were always places I wanted to go and girls I wanted to see. Hitchhiked with different girlfriends several times and thought nothing of it. I always had my best luck getting rides when I had a guitar with me. It was a totally different scene back then. Easy to get rides, and very safe, though I did get picked up by drunks now and then. Once my girlfriend and I hitched from Boston to Amherst Mass and got picked up by some guy with space in the back of his open-bed pick-up. At one point, I glanced through the window and saw the jerk was going 100 mph. At least it wasn't raining. Would I do it today? Gotta be kiddin' me.

I'm going to sue Facebook
Dave, you should enlist the help of TUSCLer Iamcall1140 -- he's the guy who sued The Cheetah in Atlanta. You two would make a great legal team. https://tuscl.net/discussion.php?id=75847

Tijuana-based gang took people for ransom in deadly kidnapping ring.
"In one case, two people from the U.S. and Mexico were abducted after meeting one of the kidnappers at a Tijuana nightclub and being invited to a home, according to the indictment." Yeah, right, I'm going to leave Hong Kong Gentlemen's Club to go to a stranger's home. No, nuh-uh.

I strongly prefer women of color. Every color.
A Good Place for an Afternoon Pit Stop While Traveling
RockAllNight, I really don't have a clear preference, as both seemed to offer similar activities. I have so little experience with Doll House (one 45-minute visit), it's hard to say, but on this day I thought the dancer choice -- per my preferences -- was better at Doll House. On another day, it could easily be the reverse.

A Monger's Guide to Entering and Exiting Tijuana
Thanks, rugrat, for the nice write-up. Like you, I would never have known about La Zona Norte had I not joined TUSCL. Over the last seven years, I've made the trip maybe 15 times or more (all at the old crossing), and the process was always a little different each time. You said, "When I first started visiting, you could walk into Mexico without even a person stopping you." Me, too -- and I could scarcely believe I was able to just pass through a turnstile into a foreign country, no questions asked. Now it's a whole routine, but still pretty easy. I don't think you mentioned this, but getting back into the USA is much quicker with a Global Entry or Sentri card, either of which will let you skip to the head of the line. Guys planning to make the trip should look into that well in advance, as it takes a bit of time to get one. I have a GE card, and I'm pretty sure when I got it, it also got me permanent TSA pre-check status for flights.

New Vegas club try outs shut down due to over crowding.
"...a new strip joint in Vegas...hosted open tryouts for dancers this week... We're told more than 1,000 girls signed up to show off their stuff." And they say most employers can't get people to apply for work these days. Maybe McDonalds should rethink its dress code.

Fantastic review, Jernbeck. Lots of good observations and info; extremely well-written and fun to read. Please keep posting here. BTW, desertscrub is not just jealous -- he is also, literally, the most disliked person on TUSCL. More members have him on "ignore" status than anyone else. Pay no attention to his comments. No one else here does.

Standard TUSCL Cover Story
I usually club alone, but I've met more than three dozen TUSCLers in my travels around the country (including the OP). Yeah, the "How do you two know each other" question can get awkward, but it's not just in front of strippers that it can happen. In addition to being a strip club afficionado, GoVikings is also really into live music, and he has come to see me play with both of my current bands on a number of occasions. After one of my gigs a while back, my wife asked me how I knew the guy I had been talking to after the show. Sometimes I'm surprised at just how good a liar I am!

Follies guys *sigh* I miss seeing…
Doctorevil’s story reminded me about one of the few times I sat at the bar there. As he said, the bar was always crowded, and actually that open bar seat was one of the few available in the whole club right then. I was seated next to a girl who immediately engaged me in spirited conversation. Her outfit wasn’t as revealing as most of the other girls, but she was really hot and sexy. She unbuttoned her shirt and had me fondle her bra-less breasts, which she seemed to enjoy quite a bit. Just as things were really heating up, one of the managers tapped me on the shoulder and very politely said, “You’re not allowed to do that with the customers.”

Club Risqué Philly - worth it
Takemymoney, welcome to TUSCL. Do NOT pay any attention to desertscrub (also known here as Arizona Turd Blossom). He calls *everything* a club ad and is the person on TUSCL with the most members putting him on "ignore" (which you can do, too). This is a pretty decent review, especially for a first-time submission. You're a good writer, and I look forward to reading more from you.

Strip Club Prices and where they are going; Where's your line in the sand?
I was a Follies customer from 1999 until they closed recently, and I was amazed that in all that time, the dances were always $10 -- as they were pretty much all across Atlanta. Dance prices everywhere seemed not to have changed much in the last 20 years, so in a way, we've been pretty lucky. That said, I certainly understand that clubs and dancers need to pay their bills, and at some point I knew that prices were bound to go up. However, as posted above, guys have their limits, especially at clubs which cut songs short. Other TUSCLers, especially the dancers, can tell me if I'm wrong, but I think higher dance prices -- especially like $40 or $50 -- make it less likely dancers will make money than if the dances were $10 or $20. Hear me out: I went to a club where dances were $40, but once an hour, there was a two-for-one special, and that was the only time guys got dances. The dances were topless, with little contact, and no VIP options were available, so other than watching topless stage dances, this was all there was to do. That means if guys only did those two dances, the girls made $40 for six minutes every hour, and for the other 54 minutes they made nothing. When dances are $10 or $20, if I'm enjoying myself with a girl, I just keep the dances coming, one after the other, with no break whatsoever. If the dances are $20 and the songs are 3 minutes long, after half an hour the dancer gets $200 from me (and probably a tip). On the other hand, if the dances are $40 and I only get one, the girl has to spend time finding another customer willing to spend $40 for 3 minutes, and at that price, I suspect that most of her night will be spent not dancing -- during which time she will make nothing at all.

TUSCL Survey - How Far Have You Ventured From Home?
I lived in the same midwestern city until I was 18. Since then, including the places I went to college and grad school, I've lived in seven different states -- including four on the East Coast from Florida to New England. Aside from school, the moves were for professional opportunities and mostly sizeable increases in salary. I am now retired, financially secure -- and, happily, not moving ever again!

McDonalds
My hometown had the 13th McDonalds in the world, which opened in 1955. The following year, my mom took us kids there for the first time, and though I was only three, I remember it like it was yesterday. When you went to the window to order food, you were still outdoors! When the food came, I asked my mom where we were going to eat it, and she said "In the car." My response? "Wow, cool!!" I think hamburgers were 15 cents, cheeseburgers were 19 cents, and fries were a dime. I went to kindergarten with a kid who lived next to that McDonalds, and I thought he was the luckiest guy in my school. Obviously, I have always been easily amused -- then and now.

ITC / When did you discover Extras in a strip club ?
I was in an upscale club on Federal Highway (U.S. Route 1) somewhere north of Miami, maybe around Aventura or Hallandale Beach -- wherever it was, the club is no longer there -- on a weeknight in 2000. The club was really dead, a handful of stunningly gorgeous women and maybe only a couple of customers besides me. I was with a really, really cute girl, basically just hanging out and getting along really well. For more money than I had with me, but not really a whole lot more, she promised we could really have some fun. At that point in my life, I had been to a number of strip clubs and had gotten lap dances, but I was not aware that there was anything further that could be done in a club. I was skeptical, but she was really down-to-earth and seemed quite genuine. And OMG, she was really hot. I left, swung by an ATM, and came back. She took me to a normal booth (with a table between two bench seats) in a part of the club that, had it been a busy night, would have been in kind of a high-traffic area. She then set up a folding screen that gave us some privacy and pushed the table back to give us some additional space. During the next hour or so, she proceeded to get completely nude and allowed me to explore her body everywhere. She was not in a hurry, as she basically had nothing better to do, and she seemed to be enjoying her time with me. After quite a while, I was surprised when she took my belt off. Finally -- after she took my pants off completely and used her hands to good effect -- she put my rock-hard dick between her spectacular boobs and worked me until I exploded on her. That was my first experience with what I would consider extras in a strip club. Since then, I have lost track of the number of times I have found extras at every level imaginable -- sometimes by asking, but many times just by surprise. Getting extras when you least expect it is always a real treat. Is this a great hobby or what?

Halloween is the best night at the nudie bar
I prefer nights other than Halloween at a nudie bar. As someone else here said recently, dancers wearing Halloween costumes generally show less skin than they normally would. Especially if it's a nudie bar.

Do you remember your first SC experience? What was it like?
I was in college in Boston in the early 1970s, and my roommate, who was a theater tech major, worked at the Pilgrim Theatre. He handled all of their tech work -- lighting, sound, and whatever else needed to be done. What he didn't tell me for quite some time is that the theater featured strippers. The Pilgrim Theatre was one of the most infamous places in an area of downtown that was called the Combat Zone, Boston's way of containing the seedier elements of society (like yours truly, I guess). The typical thing at the Pilgrim Theatre was for them to show what were then called XXX movies for an hour, put live strippers on stage for 30 minutes, then repeat that rotation. At age 20, I had never seen a stripper, and I asked my roommate about it -- and wondered whether it would be OK to bring my girlfriend, who was as curious as I was. He said sure, and told me that they didn't do anything the law didn't allow. Sounded safe enough for me. We came into what looked like a normal movie theater with a stage. Yes, the porno movie was going full tilt, as graphic as anything you'd see online today, and the most startling thing was that instead of the movie soundtrack, all you could hear was loud rock music blaring from the speakers. Much to my delight, it was the Allman Brothers. Sweet!! The strip show was quite an eye-opener for my 18-year-old girlfriend and me -- apparently the law allowed the girls to dance in nothing but high heels, and the expression "spread eagle" took on a whole new meaning for me. In terms of strip club experiences, things have obviously progressed considerably in the years since. Thank heavens.

Stick to day shift
Nvrmnd, you joined TUSCL almost two years ago and this is your first contribution? This is a very well-written, informative review. Please post more like this! Had to laugh when you said that Rosemary "wouldn’t stop talking about astrology, trauma/abuse and which girls she wanted to fight. Body a 6, personality a 7." Surprised you rated her personality a 7. Must have been just in comparison to the other rude and pushy dancers. But, wow, "...and which girls she wanted to fight"??? Gotta admit, I've never had a discussion like that with a dancer. Especially not with one who was at least 6'5" in heels. That might've scared me away. LOL Again, great review.
