Well, a cuete is a gun, a bote is a box, and baqueton here means lazy. Hierba can be any herb, like mint, I've never heard it used to mean grass. But that's in the south of Mexico, could be different in the north.

I don't steal from the airlines myself but they don't get any sympathy from me either. You can't bring a pocket knife, wine opener, shampoo or even water on board, but if you check these items they charge $25. Last time I was on Delta they showed commercials on a screen in the back of the seat in front of me, and it couldn't be turned off. Airlines are despicable and they deserve whatever scams anyone can pull on them.

I almost never tip the bouncer at the Detroit clubs I go to. I have never had a problem with this. I have had dancers ask me to tip the bouncer at Flight Club, and have even done so, but not noticed any difference in the service.

By the way, it's the Criket now. No "silver" and no "c". I can only assume they are trying to save money on signage. Those neon tubes are pricey.

Actually of that group I think only Flight Club and Landing Strip have valet. Both also have a hefty cover charge, $10-20, and another $20 if you want to sit at a booth on a busy weekend night. Those two and BT's are the high end, with Flight Club at the top, Criket a step down, Bogart's a step or two down from that, and H8 the bottom.

There is a big, free parking lot at the Palm Avenue blue line station, which is just a few minutes from the San Ysidro border station. There is a smaller lot at Beyer, which is just one stop from the border. I have never used either, as I don't bring a car when I go to San Diego. I think they may be limited to 24 hours. You don't want to drive to TJ. But if you do, there are some storefront businesses near the border that will sell you insurance, explain the process, and give you a map and directions. If you want a memorable weekend, definitely get a hotel in TJ. Too bad Alucard isn't here to tell you that you'll be murdered as soon as you cross the border.

One time I got pulled over by a state trooper in Ohio. She was young and hot. Told me she was nervous because it was her first solo traffic stop (I was doing 90 on a country road in a 1972 Buick Centurion). There has been a general crackdown in the city of Detroit that started about a year ago. Some of my favorite dives like Chapeau Vert and La Chambre (yes, go ahead and call me crazy) lost their curtains are now pointless to visit. I was never big on the 8 Mile clubs, too thuggish for my taste.

Gas bills are higher in the winter, and the students go home in the summer. But I can't say I've noticed any seasonal difference in either talent or customers.

I once took a stripper to a club. We'd been out having fun and at the end of the night she wanted to stop by the club where she works. We were there about five minutes then got asked to leave; I guess they have a policy the girls can't come in when they're not working. Passing her the $1000 note in this case would have worked, and would not have bothered me in the least.
