I agree with harrydave: you do know quite a bit about her character actually. She not only has the qualities he mentioned but also follow-through. Just be honest in your reference and have an answer ready for the "how did you meet _____" in case they follow up on your written letter with a phone contact.
And I would not worry too much about the Usairways example given. You have been asked to give a PERSONAL reference not an EMPLOYER one. There is a vast difference in vouching for someone's character and their work abilities and proficiency. And, trust me on this, employers give good reviews to a lot of associates they want to move out of their departments or even the company for one reason or another. I don't know where you are, but in IL, the employer can only reveal what your position title was, how long you worked for the company, dates of employment and salary range. They are not allowed to "recommend" or "dissuade" a perspective employer as to hiring or suitability.

Wow. No wonder our dancers love us. We are great tippers. We assumed, maybe incorrectly, that since there were two of us we should be tipping double just as at the rail. And there was one stripper who told us she should tip us because she had such a great time. LOL Obviously, we ended up getting more dances from her on subsequent visits. Any strippers wanna weigh in?

Thanks for your input. At one of the clubs we frequently visit, a couple of dancers have actually told us women there tend to be BETTER tippers than the men. We happen to tip quite well if the dancer warrants.

we like as much info as possible and are capable of weeding out what we feel does not pertain to us. We wish more posters would put info in about smoking and ventilation, if there is a particularly good place to sit and if clubs are couple friendly. While we recognize that couples are not the majority of club patrons, they are a viable market and many clubs are beginning to market to them. Given the response we got on our posts about couples and how to take a wife or GF to a club, we believe many agree with us. The last thing a woman wants to do is to enter a strip club and be the only female there other than the entertainers.
Also, we have been to one club in Indiana where there was not even a ladies room. My wife had to use a men's room with a stripper outside the door (although she did accompany her back to the table and we had a nice time chatting and got a private dance later.) and the light bulb did not even work.
One more point - without some of the descriptions on some of the New Orleans clubs, it would be impossible to know what areas are available and what they are like. They usually do not offer tours and girls won't all share.

Thank you for your comments. Perhaps you should seek some counsel since you feel "yelled at"simply because someone posted a clarification and comment of their own.
We do not participate on here to try and make others feel badly or "yelled at." If we wanted to do that we could certainly post on any number of threads that we feel are in poor taste, excessively derogatory to women and in general make men appear to be the generic male asshole stereotype. We simply refrain from posting on those threads because each poster has a right to ask and say (within the guidelines of the site) what they think and feel. The same goes for us.

We visit clubs regularly together. You can check out our tips for couples in the articles section. Yes, it does depend on the woman to a certain extent but it also depends on the man and how he interacts with his woman.
Clubs for couples are a completely different experience that it seems most guys (at least on here) are seeking solo.

I guess our main point is: if clubs are going to hire all different body types because clientele has different taste, then can't they hire some decent dancers and entertainers who actually know now to entertain instead of just lie on her back and shake her legs or walk around a pole?

Sensuality beats plain grinding in our books every time. We are well acquainted with burlesque but that is not what we meant by "artistic." For instance, in New Orleans, one tall athletic blonde dancer exuded great sensuality and clearly showed she understood sexy. Many of her dance moves replicated a woman in the throws of orgasm - the arching of the back in conjunction with tension in the rest of her body, the closed eyes and slightly parted lips, the deep breath and shudder as she pinched her own nipples, etc.
And, even in lap dances, a pure and simple mechanical grinding is not very satisfactory to a lot of customers. In order to be a top earner, a dancer has to be able to sell that she likes what she is doing. A strippers identity can set her apart from the other dancers and make her memorable.

Cannot attest to the main downtown clubs as we have not been there yet. (Pink Monkey, Admiral) However, from our experience, mileage is good at Club O. I am sure that only our own personal rules kept more from being on the table. Had we wanted to explore those options, I am sure we could have. Given the long times and the number of girls in VIP I am certain the mileage is pretty high.

It is apparent that MMV within the same club based on the dancer, bouncer and even what they both ate for breakfast. Turnover is incredibly high in this industry and I think we all recognize that consistency is just not going to happen. It is the nature of the game.
I agree with TUSCL that the flag button should not be used for simple comments. Flagging usually means the post violates some rule and someone needs to look at it for possible removal.
I understand when I read a review that I am reading one person's assessment of a particular night and particular dancer or dancers in a club based on their expectations and list of desirables. Mine may be completely different.
Perhaps a better way to monitor the "facts" which would be pricing, hours, location and phone would be for TUSCL to contact each club and ask to be contacted when there is a change. I would think most clubs would be onboard for this as it is free advertising to a known market.

Well, nice story but there IS someone on stage at least three nights every single week that is older and still performs like a trouper. The key here is burlesque which is NOT stripping.
My point - Chris Owens, the one-woman legend and JAZZ great still resides in New Orleans, LA and does one hell of a show several days a week at the Chris Owens Theater on Bourbon Street. Her energy level puts most of the young strippers I have seen to shame.
I guess an old burlesgue performer is much like a great race horse, they always show up when they hear the bell and they always give it their all.
Thanks Chris for a great New Years Eve 2010/2011. Can't imaging ringing in 2012 anywhere else!

My wife and I frequent some select clubs in our area as well as New Orleans when we are on vacation. We take many precautions to make sure that we have a hot time while respecting the entertainers. Maybe we (well, my wife actually) will write a post on strip club etiquette for women. We only go as a couple and, honestly, the dancers flock to her within the first 30 minutes because they can see she is cool and knows how to act. We are sorry to see and hear that some women or parties don't know how to act. It ruins it for everyone whether one is there to earn a living, to assuage curiosity or to spice things up.
