A Typical Day in the Life of a Dancer, Part 1And for anyone who wondered why dancers are more attractive that their wife when they get home, it is because we don't spend 2 hours in the "beautification process." We are too busy taking care of your dry cleaning, your children, your meals and your house. Thank you, God, for my husband who always tells me with complete sincerity that no dancer holds a candle to me even when I don't spend two hours getting ready. :-)
I wish more dancers would be up front about their menus and the prices. And please specify if that is double for a couple. We have had it go both ways.

Four time-tested ways to smuggle booze into strip clubsOr, since the good ole double standard is alive and well, just let your wife carry the flask in her purse. She never gets sent through the metal detector. More than once security just peeks down her top (looking for weapons, uhuh) at which point she flirts shamelessly and in she goes. At the airport, she got the patdown, I got the damn new maching.

Ten Things For Strip Club Owners to ConsiderSkibum609, excellent point. Mr m00t has dress pants for just club going as I don't want to risk the lotions the entertainers use ruining his other good clothing. He wore a Donald Trump dress shirt once (I prefer the cuffs on men's clohing when they require cuff links) and it was her dark makeup on his shoulder that I had a hell of a time getting out. So, after that, he has clothes for the clubs that I think make him look nice but are ones I can easily replace if something gets ruined. You are right, stripper or not, a woman is a sucker for a man in a good quality finely tailored suit!

Ten Things For Strip Club Owners to ConsiderTommy - I guess we are different than most SC goers then. If we go to a specific club with a specific entertainer in mind and she is not there, we tend to go to our backup choice or just leave. We have never spent the same amount as we intended to spend when our dancer of choice was not working. We prefer to wait. Obviously that only applies to the clubs near our home which we frequent regularly. Or, better yet, we just mssg her and ask when she is coming in if we have not done so before hand.

Ten Things For Strip Club Owners to Considercanny - at least in IL there are regulations for "adult" sites. Normal hosts won't touch 'em. Plus you have to have some sor of site that allows at least two pages with a disclaimer for age bs on the first

Ten Things For Strip Club Owners to ConsiderThis is mrs m00t and I respectfully disagree with Art on point #7. Internet advertising is essential in this day and age and actually very low cost. In years past, SC relied on being near a major interstate or intersection along the roadside with billboards to catch the eye of passing truckers or, in the case of FL tourists (LOL), but those days are long gone. People have limited time (and the longer Obama is in office more limited cash) and use the internet to help make sure they have the best shot at allocating their time and cash in the way it makes the most sense. Additionally, in an age where many SC owners are trying to open a new market (couples, same sex couples, etc) it is very important to have that internet presence. As the woman in a couple, I am very unlikely to agree to a new club if I can't see what it looks like online first. I have tried calling clubs that don't offer that online look first to get some basic information without any luck. They never want to give that information out over the phone. If I am planning a visit for my hubby and want to set up a special evening, I want to be able to plan a budget so I know what to expect. Why can't you give me the price for a VIP room over the phone? Or tell me if that price includes any bottle service or drinks? Don't get it. I want to be able to know going in what kind of seating is available, is there VIP seating, where are the stages, do I have to share a restroom with men, how do I dress based on how I perceive the decor reflects the other clientel, etc, etc. If you won't answer my questions over the phone, at least put up some shots of your club so you have a chance at earning my business.
SC owners: spend your $500 bucks if you aren't technologically gifted and get someone to do a website for you. At least a few pics of the empty club, shots of the private dance rooms and what the cover and drink prices are. If you run daily specials that is nice to have too. DON'T put pics of the ladies up unless you intend to keep them up-to-date. You can't tell me that every college around would not have at least 2-3 geeky techy guys that would LOVE to visit your club and do a website for you for that. (and think how many of their friends they are gonna haul in as customers once they brag about the website they did for you!) Your only recurring expense is hosting and if you have a basic site that is minimal - in the Chicago area less than $50 a month.
AND then link your webpage to TUSCL so everyone can find it.

Ten Things For Strip Club Owners to ConsiderThank you for a well-written piece. We concur completely and, as a couple, we think our vote should count twice! :-)
We would like to add one, however, and that would be that if you are in a state that still allows smoking, PLEASE get a decent smoke removal system. A ceiling fan does not cut it. We have left clubs in which we intended to spend hundreds for a VIP or Champagne room experience because the main floor was so darn smoke-filled we could not stand it long enough to even select a dancer. The first two we tried table-side reeked of smoke so badly we could not have chosen them if we had liked the table dances.

Being a Stripper without Doing "Extras"jess,
This is mrs m00t. What I think riglin was trying to say is that the IT field is full of must do extras if one wants to be employed. I know. I am married to a SR network engineer who designs the networks for CME, several major trading firms and one major name advertising company. Believe me, his pager goes off frequently and many times BOTH of us feel like we are getting screwed when it does. :-) You might want to consider TWO different fields.
As far as touching in VIP - if you allow NO touching at all, I can tell you as a wife, that we would not ever get to VIP. I can sit at a table and talk to you for $20 if that is all you are interested in. I don't think very many men's fantasies involve no touching. We are not an extras seeking couple. That being said, we don't think hands on the butt, touching a breast, etc is considered "extras". Extras to us are BJ, HJ, etc.
That being said, a good customer will always ask what a dancer's rules are - VIP area or not - and once articulated, respect them. If a customer does not like the dancer's rules, then they always have the option of not tipping, not getting any more dances and chosing another dancer.

Burlesque, Strip Clubs, and HistoryFYI: In the interest of accuracy - 1942 was not 100 years ago. It was 69. And, yes, 100 years ago there were clubs that featured naked women on stages or as shows. They may not have been called "Strip Clubs" and they may not have been in every city but they did exist.
In New Orleans from 1897 - 1917 there was an entire "red light district" called Storyville. Prostitution was legal within the confines of that district but not all buildings there were occupied by brothels or "landladies" as the Madames were called. Bars and social clubs also resided there. It was not uncommon for bars and brothels to offer entertainment in the form of erotic dances which included naked women or sex acts. This area also offered burlesque clubs. It was not a case of "we don't have strippers so we have burlesque" but rather a "different target audience" sort of thing.
For what it is worth....
Still a well-thought out piece.

How Not to Take A Stripper Shopping - Part IIRickdugan, interesting take. But that is all it is.
As far as what we are "trying to accomplish" we are following up on the numerous private requests we got to publish more on this. If accomplishing something is the deal on this board then I submit everyone is wasting their time and efforts. We were under the impression this was a DISCUSSION board and not that accomplishing something was the goal. Wow! Guess I will have a busy day posting comments on every thread on here that does not meet that guideline!
As far as what the stripper thinks or doesn't, you are in no better position to judge that definitively than we are. Would you care for posters to rip on what you seek in visits? If the "Norma Wallace" thing does it for me, then who are you to try an negate my fantasy? For the record, the young stripper ASKED when she found out we visited other clubs. If you had seen this girl before and after, and not just with us, you would know for a fact she was new and inexperienced. Unless you are a stripper or personal friends with this one in particular, I don't see how you can "guarantee" what any of them think or feel. In our ingenue's own words, "I really need a friend and I appreciate you letting me bounce my costume ideas off of you and giving me your input. It's not like I can ask my mother and most of the other girls here won't help because they are afraid someone will steal their customers." She then went on to tell us two of her friends in the club who had helped (but who had totally different style than suited her in our opinion. Seeing her enact the suggestions on other customers also is proof in the pudding so to speak that it was not just lip service. She really did want to learn.
As we have said numerous times, we are NOT out looking for FS with someone. It is ALL about the fantasy for us and some soft play. From your posts, that is not what you look for in a SC visit. No surprise that your colored glasses would be different from ours.

How Not to Take A Stripper Shopping - Part IISkeets, You clearly have not read most of our posts. We are not looking for sex for a threeway. If we were, we would simply join a swingers group and that would be it. A heck of a lot less money. As a previous poster accurately pointed out, it is all about the fantasy.
AND I have no idea where you think you got your $300 figure. We never posted that was what we spent for this dancer. I will admit we DID spend $300 at Club O for a VIP room once. And, no, in Chicagoland you could not get a hooker for $300 IF that was what we were seeking.

How Not to Take A Stripper Shopping - Part IIHonest T - perhaps we did not do such a good job of describing. We have met this woman for shopping ONCE. We spent only one weekend even in that club - one Friday and one abreviatated Saturaday due to my pager. The rest has all been via text or phone at this point. We respectfully disagree. There seem to be many more on TUSCL that have spent far more time and money before anything OTC happened. So far we are $150 for the shopping trip and the rest was spent in the club. And only $35 of that was on her there. So, far cheaper than we would have spent for one night at Club O in Chicagoland.

How Not to Take A Stripper Shopping - Part IISteve, Guess from the perspective of some here that is pretty tame, huh? LOL Well, never pretended to be the most adventurous or always out for tons of "extras." But, I do get the distinction of being in the select group of men who go to the SC with their wife. No need to hide as many seem to spend a lot of time and energy going by what I read on here.

How Not to Take A Stripper Shopping - Part III agree LL. It will be baby-steps. We get texts checking in frequently but so far we have not made the trip back to Kappa. Maybe when work settles down a bit. In the meantime, my wife seems to be having a pretty good time coaching her little ingenue. I am told she passed along some moves a stripper that used to dance in our fav Chicago club used and had gotten a couple more dances than usual. Will be interesting to see....

How Not to Take A Stripper Shopping OR How to Build a Relationship While Strengthening Your MarriageAnd, besides, one only gets *had* if one goes in expecting a specific outcome. We did not. As mentioned in the article, even if nothing more ever came out of it I had a pretty damn hot time seeing my wife dress a stripper. Seeing her in the club in the outfit we bought the next night was hot too. But, guess you will all have to wait on parts two and three for that......
