Just recently finished relistening to a an Audiobook of Richard Preston's "The Hot Zone". A REALLY terrifying non-fiction work. [I read the book when it was 1st published in Hardcover] It details how close this country came to a Massive Biological Holocaust. All that prevented it was a few protein structure changes in a virus.

^^^^ Yeah, why pay less than $10/hr when you can pay less than $1 or $2 an hour.

I have always found that working in a unionized shop was MORE positive than negative. Certainly as a nurse it had a LARGE impact on me financially. After 7 yrs of employment in a unionized hospital, I was earning more twice the wage that I was after 20 yrs in a vehemently Anti-Union hospital. Plus the other benefits such as medical insurance coverage was greatly better in the union shop.

A Moderator is really needed here IMO!
