Thanks, shadowcat. The wifey is following me to Oman in February. Then she is taking 6 weeks in South Africa and Namibia doing an internship in large animal care and rehabilitation. She is apprehensive about Oman, mainly the potential for boredom. And she has a bunch of strappy shirts and short dresses that are staying in the US. Damn!

Art, when we were pursuing the work, and it appeared that we might not win the Oman work, a guy there asked if I was interested in working in Saudi Arabia. My response was an unqualified, "No!" There is a world of difference between the two countries. In Oman, I can live anywhere, drive anywhere, drink in the hotel bars, buy liquor at a store for expats, ride my motorcycle in the desert, etc. Of course, public behavior is expected to be modest.

As txtiytyfan points out, Phoenix is close to several reservations. And I share his observation. The pure Native American girls are scarce and not that enthusiastic. I attribute that to two things: 1) they tend toward obese; I'm sorry, I live 1 mile from a reservation and a Walmart is nearby (need I say more?), and 2) their culture is very oriented toward the extended family (the clan); not many of the girls could get away with dancing without serious family push-back.

I used to go to the Hiliter Lounge in Phoenix a lot. This club has been in TUSCL top 20 for a long time. There are always a few girls there like this girl - a bit thick but not obese. The ones who move confidently and project a positive attitude do very well. Quite frankly, a woman like this is more "real", and for some guys she would be less intimidating and more accessible.
If she has the attitude, go for it!

I like the dive bars, and the customers tend toward thuggish at times. Hell, the girls run toward thuggish. In about ten years of dive bar spelunking I have witnessed a few customers being dragged out. They were all drunk white guys. I have been in clubs that were 95% black (Irvington, NJ)and predominantly Latino (Nogales, Mexico) and have never been hassled. However, I tend to avoid the Friday and Saturday night scenes. The young, dumb, and full of cum crowd is out and about then, and the risk level rises.

The reviews on TUSCL pretty much tell it all. I tend to avoid chains as I prefer smaller clubs (ok, I like dive bars). I have had OK times at a few chain clubs, but never a great time.

If the girl asked you if you are a cop, and then you make up a story or are non-responsive about what you really do for a living, then you are lying, and some girls will pick up on that. I agree with others; tell them you're ex-military. Also, I do not wear sweat pants or shorts into strip clubs. I know those have practical advantages, but I feel they send a "perv" message to some girls (so maybe it's not a LEO vibe, maybe it's a perv vibe). I prefer lightweight, dark khaki pants, no belt, commando style. Not quite as accessible but nice for both parties.

I don't know why, but my ability to remember stripper names has improved over the years. Many of the girls expect you will not remember, so it is a pleasant surprise to them when you call them by name.
On the other hand, sometimes the names are so ridiculous, our introductions go something like this:
Here: "Hi! My name is Fantasia, what's your name?"
Me: "Nice to meet you, Fantasia. My name is Dirty Harry".

Troop, could be an anti-shill. A previous review was from management announcing all the wonderful changes, and then along comes this guy who says it sucks.
As for management paying attention to reviews in TUSCL, I have never had any evidence of that. If I ran a strip club, I would love to know what my customers think. My impression is that a lot of strip club owners think they are hot shit and know better than most everyone else. Perhaps that's because they take advantage of strippers, who are usually vulnerable to abuse.
