    The Brett Favre Syndrome
So you think a recent inductee at Canton is the epitome of a graceless retirement ? Yeah maybe retiring, then unretiring, rinse repeat isn't the most graceful thing to do. Although not at his peak, he in his own way made the Jets and Vikings better teams. I don't imagine it's easy walking away from a high6/low7 figure annual paycheck. Now if you're a die hard Packers fan who resents seeing #4 in Vikings purple, I can see that. I'll agree that it ain't pretty to watch a dancer hang on too long.

    Who the fuck is Ninabambina?
    OT: drugs
@Nina- "Someone elses pee"... That doesn't cut either, as the temperature is taken of the sample presented, prior to sealing. On the random testing scenario, supervisor notification is given. Both supervisor and employee sign form, then escorted to dedicated testing area (usually a conference room with adjoining restrooms). More forms are filled out, both tester and employee verify regular and split sample bottle. If employee doesn't have the urge to pee, gotcha covered. Bottled waters and sodas are provided, none of this "I'll go to the cafeteria and be right back" stuff. Employee stays there until he/she produces a sample in restroom, with sample, and split sample separately sealed.

    Who the fuck is Ninabambina?
    OT: drugs
Jumping in thread late: Doing drugs is a non-starter for me. Primarily because I'm not interested in doing them. Also for much of my professional life, fell under DOT rules for drug testing. Namely, initial hiring, reasonable suspicion, and random. The later category in the early 90's required a 50% testing rate, later dropped to 25% when it was shown that positives rate was infinitesimally small. (i.e. if company has 100 employees in certain category, a minimum of 25 random drug tests must be administered throughout the calendar year.) Yes, marijuana, along with several other drugs are on the "laundry list" to be screened for. @motorhead- Does Ford do random testing along with 1-2 aforementioned categories ? @Nina- A recent post of yours seems to imply that drug users that you're acquainted with "might" be slipping by the test with "one of those kits." That cute stuff doesn't cut it in the DOT world. One coworker with over 20 years at company random test showed excessive nitrates, which would be indicative of an additive to the urine sample. He got his licenses back on a lengthy appeal (chain of custody procedures had some gaps in it, he had a top notch attorney on his case) but still lost his job with co. He maintains that he didn't do drugs or an additive. Point being that it's nothing to screw around with.

    Top 100 clubs
I get that a lot of clubs in the top 100 are clubs that happen to be the best for that particular area, and would not make anybody's top list in another city. With several threads over the years asking for the best cities to visit, I propose that founder put up a sticky thread with a poll question-"If you won a grand prize with airline tickets and 4 star or better hotel accommodations plus $1K or more club spending allowance, which cities would be your top 3 choices, in order." "In those 3 cities, which clubs would be your top 3 choices, in order of preference." Poll could close by a certain date, or be continuously updated as software programming would allow. Two tables, one with cities, one with clubs, would be tabulated , ala Olympics style, with number of gold, silver, and bronze "medals" won by number of first, second, and third place votes. That would give a more relevant guide for the best cities/clubs to take a road trip to.

    Top 100 clubs
As of today, I've been to 24 of the top100 (overall ranking) clubs, including 4 in the top 10. I would return to the vast majority of those, though I'll admit that it has been over 7 years or more since I've been to most of them. I've posted this multiple times before, but I feel that the overall score is a reliable guide for selecting the best clubs to go to in a new city. What I do is click the city/metro area of interest, pick the top 3 to 6 scoring clubs (depending on size of the city), then read the reviews of the top scoring clubs to narrow my focus for upcoming visit.

OT: Latest New Tech. Options In Cars- Actual User Experiences
To expound on things a bit: I took a test drive in a loaded Chevy Impala a few months ago that had the lane assist option. Dealer rep had me hold the wheel straight with a slight curve coming up. I could feel the wheel nudge me over back in lane. Feature keyed on the camera image of the lane lines. Although an example often cited for the desirability of this option is the driver falling asleep, IMO, this could also be useful in the whiteout snowstorm scenario, or heavy summer downpour, except for the lane assist keying on the camera image. I'm curious if anyone driving a car with this feature under those conditions have experienced the system going apeshit on them, and running them off the road. If you can't see the lane markers, the camera can't either. Seeing an occasional lane marker just might throw off the LA enough to make it do something that you'd just as soon not have it do. Ideally, lane assist should be GPS based, but that would require a system with the accuracy of finding a dingleberry on a gnats ass. OK, engaging in hyperbole here, but being 50' off approaching an intersection on my current Garmin would not be up to that task.

OT: Latest New Tech. Options In Cars- Actual User Experiences
VM- Read my post. Do you routinely leave your keys under beach towel and hope nobody will steal them ? That or risk water damage to key fob. Again, I'm talking the keyless ignition, not the large number of older cars that have a regular ignition key and fob. Fob being used to lock/unlock doors and open trunk. If fob battery dies in those versions, you won't have fob control to do those things, but you can still unlock doors with key. The newer cars, if start/ignition control module does not get a signal from recognizable fob, you can push start button all you want, but nothing is going to happen.(except you geting po'ed) Maho, what kind of car do you have ? Are we on the same page here ? Yes, the newer keyless ignition cars do have a key, but they're merely an alternate means to get in the car if fob or car battery dies. Are there cars with a Fob actuated push button start AND a key ignition as a backup ? I've not seen any cars like this.

Have you ever neglected to write club reviews?
I've punted several times throughout my membership years on clubs that I visit many times per year. What I've been doing lately is combining 2-3 visits into one review, particularly if I've gone different days, or even a night visit one time, day visit another.
