https://medium.com/@wpegden/a-call-to-honesty-in-pandemic-modeling-5c156686a64b Here is an article with longer term modeling on the effects of social distancing. It doesn't make much of a difference. Dugan is right. The sooner it ends the better for society as a whole.

After COVID-19 Clubbing MIleage going up or down?
It's funny I have seen a few posts by strippers saying "stop selling nudes for $5 because clubs are closed we should be charging more not less" And yeah I think that is pretty crazy. A ton of people are out of work. A ton of girls are desperate for money and are missing being at the club. And the group of guys who want to keep spending (like everyone on here) is going to be bargain hunting once everything opens back up.

You know before all of this I never fully bought the idea that SJG was really homeless. But now that it's been 2.5 weeks it seems hard to dispute.

^^^ "100-200 thousand dead just in the US is considered a best case scenario and i believe it. The only thing that could stop that is vast immediate improvement in care and treatment" From my read of the data I would disagree. Of the people who get put on a ventilator only 10% will survive. No matter how many doctors, hospitals and ventilators we have it won't make much of a difference. That is a hard thing to accept but if you can then Dugan's logic starts to make sense.

@nicespice - Ok I'll bite... First off I see your point about the elasticity of the lower wage class. As time has gone on I have am not as worried about that group and now I am really worried about everyone in the middle. I have a lot of friends who are middle and middle-upper class (many of them small business owners) who are fucked by what's going on. Almost no businesses are setup to withstand 2-3 months of complete shutdown while still paying a lot of their overhead. No one that I know in that middle/upper class has not started looking for other temporary work yet. I am happy to give a list of specific real world examples. Two really interesting cases I have heard of: 1. I bought a skateboard a few weeks before everything went to shit. And although the small business that I purchased from is totally capable of functioning during the shutdown and has even seen an increase in demand they can't actually sell anything because their stock ran out and they can't get a resupply from china. 2. Apparently some churches may go under. Since people aren't going to church in person they are not giving money to churches and some might not last long.

One other point I would bring up is that all of the talk about lack of ventilators is nonsense. There have been numerous open source ventilator projects that have sprung up over the past few weeks. There is a really cool design that uses 3d printer parts I may try to replicate this week. There is another design someone made that uses industrial supplies to make a single ventilator that can handle 100 people at a time. And then there is a group I have been working with where we found a way to make a ventilator with REALLY basic parts from autozone. I do understand that there are probably other bottlenecks that would come up if the ventilator problem was solved. I pitched the idea a week ago of the goverment taking over a hotel chain and it was badass to see the US Army Core of Engineers came up with the same idea and is going forward with it. My latest idea I have been trying to get some traction on is to quickly retrain veterinarians to treat human covid patients. That would obviously massively increase the number of available doctors. Final note - If anyone here is elderly and super worried about dying of covid I would recommend going on amazon and buying a manual respirator. Even if we run out of ventilators you can still technically just manually respirate someone and those devices are readily available for purchase. Also a lot of the DIY ventilator projects use those as a base so buying one of them (I think mine was $23) is cheap insurance.

I actually agree with Dugan. I posted a week ago on another non-monger forum about the negative 2nd and 3rd order effects that an economic shutdown could have. Someone is going to lose their business, which will destroy their marriage, which will drive them to suicide. Someone else is going to lose their health insurance and die from inability to afford care. And there will be people who end up homeless and die from something related to that. So while I do agree that some shutdown is warranted going to the lengths some people want are too far. In my area before the full shutdown they limited business to 50% of their normal capacity which I thought was a smart compromise. And even then most businesses were pretty empty as a large percentage of people are not going out from fear rather than government mandate. Everyone is going to die, it's only a matter of how soon. If covid was taking out everyone under 20 then I would feel a lot differently about the situation but instead it's the opposite. Most of those who are going to die have lived a long and full live already. All of that said when I made these points before (on the other forum) there was a TON of outrage so I've pretty much kept my mouth shut since then.

@Muddy - Founder has a soft spot for SJG so I don't think he is going to ban him. I think our best chance is the 2% that the coronavirus takes him out. Maybe it's 3-4% for the homeless.

Yeah that is interesting comment. Weird how things have changed. Personally I am more about wide hips than a big butt. Classically extreme hip/waist ratios were considered beautiful regardless of how thin or thick was in fashion throughout time. Where now a lot of people want big buts and don't care about hip/waist ratio.

    Closed club due to virus
Dallas is closed. Fort Worth is limiting places to 50% of their normal capacity or 100 whichever is smaller. Personally I think this is a smart compromise that will let restaurants and bars stay open but still limit virus exposure.

A while back I made the decision that I wasn't going to post here much any more. While most people here are cool there is such a long list of things that suck: the lack of moderation that lets people like SJG and trolls run free, the harassment of some of the few female members, and people (like scpandit and toychaser) posting openly about violence against women. This just is not a website I really want to contribute to. It is great to see founder take a step in the right direction but there is still a lot of trash that needs to be taken out. For those who would prefer a moderated forum here is an alternative that keeps growing: https://www.reddit.com/r/stripclubs/

Too much of a good thing is never enough
    Dancers and pimps?
@heaving - I think part of it is that there are a group of low IQ people out there who like the idea of being taken care of. To that kind of person it is really appealing when a pimp offers them a place to stay, a car to drive, food, and money for clothes. It is even more appealing if the person is down on their luck, maybe they are homeless, and their friends and family have stopped being willing to help. Some in that position feels really helpless and deserted. Pimps know how to find someone at that low point in their life and offer an "easy button". The girl that I know her mom and dad both died when she was a teen. Her life had been really fucked up after that so the "easy button" seemed like a good deal. And yes she did have a romantic attachment to the girl who was pimping her. This last part is just my theory - I think some of us might not notice it at first that someone is really low IQ if they happen to also be a really pretty girl with good social skills.

Too much of a good thing is never enough
    Dancers and pimps?
So a while back I had a CF who was being pimped. I met her on her first day and was blown away at how open she was as far as mileage for a day 1 newbie. I went to see her at a different club (baby dolls dallas) and she was pointing out all of the pimps. She even had a comment about how not all pimps are bad if they "invest" the girls money in the drug business so they can make even more. Fast forward and a few months into her stripping career we talked and it turned out she had been working for another girl who was herself working for a pimp. The higher ranked girl had been taking all of her money and supposedly saving and investing it. Then when my CF asked for a large amount of her cash for a down payment on something found out it was all gone. Over 3-4 months she had made pretty much nothing...

TSA PreCheck vs. Global Entry vs. CLEAR: What’s the difference?
I have global entry. Well worth it if you fly a lot. As others have stated global entry includes precheck and is only a tiny bit more expensive than precheck by itself.
