No shower expectations before the session and have never asked the lady to do so either. Me and the lady have showered (separately) after one particularly messy session. The only way I would ask a lady to shower before the session would be if I told her I'd like to shower with her for some preliminary fun. Otherwise she might be insulted if you simply ask her to shower, and she'd probably decline anyway. I've done arriba with around 8-10 ladies and have had no hygiene issues. As others have stated, it's hit or miss whether they stamp your passport. I've crossed maybe 15 or so times (multiple times per visit during five visits) and have been stamped only once or twice, so I'd say a 10-15 percent chance. If they stamp your passport, I'd recommend just carefully tearing out that page rather than spending the $150 or whatever it is to get a new passport. It would be ideal to live in SoCal, but cost of living is too high. I don't think the cost of living is that high in Vegas and Phoenix, thought I haven't looked into it. But ideally, I'd retire to one of those places and be close enough to where I could make occasional driving trips to TJ but not so close that I'd want to go every week.

I agree with @RedBaron. Once you walk into HK you'll wonder why you wasted so much time and effort trying to pick up a non-pro. My first time was five years ago, and it's unlike anything I had ever experienced.
