I would lean towards either TJ or Detroit as they are mongering cities with lots of mid-sized to large venues to hop as a group. Lots of options are nice for a bender. Plus a fair amount of sleaze. Cities with a single good club can prove to be a bust when planning a trip several months out. A series of raids can completely change the experience and services available for a considerable amount of time after. Just look at Phoenix as an example. People used to sing praises about Hi-Liter. After a series of raids, the party atmosphere diminished and we mongers no longer cite Phoenix as a destination. I would also be down to travel to new (to me) places just so I could review the clubs. Juice's attendance obviously adds a little something after being teased the last few years. Will it all be worth it in the end?

I was going going to pay yesterday and ask whether juice was committed still. Then I thought, "just wait a day for him to cancel again." The cynical part of me wind, yet again. So when is the next meetup for you, juice? Detroit will be thawed out if we wait a few months. Or, there's always TJ.

Ticuan is an okay hotel. Its rooms are just a step below Hilton or Marriott imho. It is safe, and in a slightly more touristy part of town a few blocks south of zona norte. It is also much more quiet since there is no attached club blasting music. While you may have read that Ticuan is more chica friendly, it was most likely not in reference to how the hotel treats working girls. Girls can come up with you without issue. Escorts can come to the hotel but the front desk (right next to the elevators) won't let them up unaccompanied unless you come down to meet them. Ticuan is noted as being more chica friendly because a lot of girls don't like to be seen in zone norte. The conservative Catholic influenced culture makes girls not want to be recognized by someone they know (but the male friend hanging out in the red light district is cool) while in zona notre. So this only comes into play if you want to check out the escort scene in TJ, as many of those girls refuse to meet you in Cascadas but have no issue with Ticuan.
