Hotel Ticuan Tijuana

Has anyone stayed at Hotel Ticuan? I heard that its chica friendly but, some of the reviews on Tripadvisor indicate that it's not?

I'm looking to stay in TJ but am kinda skeptical about staying at Hotel Cascadas. Ive stayed before for a night or two but am leery about bring my laptop and staying connected for work. I mean, it's great for a short time but, certainly isn't the safest place around.

I normally stay in San Diego but, the commute and border are kinda a pain in the ass.

Any other recommendations are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Ticuan is an okay hotel. Its rooms are just a step below Hilton or Marriott imho. It is safe, and in a slightly more touristy part of town a few blocks south of zona norte. It is also much more quiet since there is no attached club blasting music.

While you may have read that Ticuan is more chica friendly, it was most likely not in reference to how the hotel treats working girls. Girls can come up with you without issue. Escorts can come to the hotel but the front desk (right next to the elevators) won't let them up unaccompanied unless you come down to meet them.

Ticuan is noted as being more chica friendly because a lot of girls don't like to be seen in zone norte. The conservative Catholic influenced culture makes girls not want to be recognized by someone they know (but the male friend hanging out in the red light district is cool) while in zona notre. So this only comes into play if you want to check out the escort scene in TJ, as many of those girls refuse to meet you in Cascadas but have no issue with Ticuan.

With sincerity, why would someone need escorts in TJ with adelita and hk right there?

What am I missing??

I stayed there a few weeks ago. It’s a much nicer room than Cascadas, and I felt very safe there. When I checked in the receptionist at the front desk told me if I have any additional guests they would have to check in at the front desk and they would call up to confirm I was expecting them. Later that night when I went up with my dinner date we went straight up with no problems. That being said I’m pretty sure escorts are probably treated better than street girls, and it makes a HUGE difference if you are taking them up or they are going up alone to meet you in your room.

The other question that you should ask yourself though is are you looking to get Chicas from La Zona to your room at Ticuan, or are you willing to sleep there and then pay to go up with a bar girl at a hotel in La Zona. Bar girls are not going to head up to Ticuan while they are working. You’ll have to arrange a meeting when they are off if that’s what you want.

I’ve known a lot of guys that take thier laptops to Cascadas and never had a problem, but I understand your concern. If that’s a real problem and you end up staying on the US side stay in San Ysidro or Chula Vista to make the commute to the border easier. Staying in San Diego can add a lot of traffic and hassle to getting back and forth to the border.

I have stayed at Pueblo Amigo a few times. The rooms are nice. Had a HK girl meet me there for a TLN recently. The hotel was her choice. She said she was not allowed to stay overnight at Cascadas. I have had other TLNs at Cascadas, so I don't understand her reluctance, except she wanted privacy. (Kept meaning to ask her details. OTOH, there were HK and AB people that I didn't want to run into either, so it worked out.)

When she arrived, the hotel staff would not let her go to the room alone. I came down stairs and told the staff she was my guest and they just nodded. I have taken other girls up to my room at Pubelo Amigo. They walked in with me and we were not questioned.

Also, there is a Motel 6 in Chula Vista that is across the street from the E Street trolley stop. Stayed there once. It was the most expensive parking the company ever paid for and the maid must have been happy that the room was in perfect condition the next day.

I wouldn't be worried about having expensive electronics in Cascadas any more than in any US hotel. I have never had a problem and typically travel with an expensive camera and tablet that are left out in the open while charging.
