They have a guy who monitors the number of dances the girls do and announces the running total after every dance for every girl currently doing dances. This is great, since there's no over-counting and no dispute, and as long as you're paying attention, you will always know how much money you've spent (you pay afterwards). I also think the dances are based on a set length of time, not by the song. When you're finished, the girl will open the door a crack to signal the guy to stop counting, giving you a chance to, um, clean up and not be charged. It's a good system.

This is very welcome news, easily the best change Follies has made since they got rid of the pool table 10 or 12 years ago and put in more couches for lap dances. It's also probably the ONLY change they've made since then! ;-)

This is OK for a first review, NJoy, but kind of generic-sounding -- other than mentioning the spiral staircase, it could have been about almost any club. Now that you've gained VIP status, over the next four weeks please take the time to read a whole bunch of reviews to see the kinds of things others report on. Most readers here want more details about costs (parking, cover, drinks, dances, VIP room), the girls (ethnic mix, body types, general hotness and sociability of the girls), and what kinds of dances are available (private, non-private, topless only, nude, amount of contact allowed, etc.). Some readers care about the layout of the place; very few care about the food in a strip club. Probably the most important thing for a TUSCL review is to give someone who has never been to the club an idea of whether it's worth their time and money to check it out. You're a fine writer, so please visit more clubs and post more reviews -- with more details.

Very nice review. The comments above are correct about the parking lot behind the Jack-in-the-Box, including what Liwet said about the charges being for 8-hour increments. One additional comment: As the posted signs will tell you when you enter that lot, if you are even one minute past eight hours when you come back, you will have to pay for an additional 8 hours. Not that an extra $8 or $12 would be the end of the world, but in terms of aggravation, I think it's better to know that in advance.

Just curious: What are the "new restrictions"? Is it more than "This is not the EI of old, as no breasts were exposed while the girls were on stage"?

Yes, a great write-up; thanks for providing all the details. I've been to HK nine times and I *still* learned things from your review. Glad you had a good time. You obviously did your research beforehand and it paid off. Now that you've popped your TJ cherry, imagine how great it will be the next time you go!

Shadowcat is absolutely right. Whether you're headed to one of the two single rooms or the big room, it's not unusual for the girls to ask you for the $50 room fee (along with their fee), and in the scenario shadowcat describes, they just keep it. In doing so, they're scamming the club, not you, so it's not that big a deal because you'd be paying it no matter what. The problem is that while you're supposed to get 30 minutes for $50, some of the girls will do everything in their power to rush you to completion. The less time they spend in the big room, the less likely they are to get asked for the room fee by the bouncers, who pop in from time to time.

Well, Juice, here is my reasoning on this: It depends on a) the girl and what you can negotiate with her, b) what you want, and c) how long you can last. For me, at Follies I can usually get what I want from a girl I think is super hot for $150 ($50 for the room and $100 for the girl) and I can time it so I last the full 30 minutes. I always want 30 minutes, and I insist on it upfront. $150 total. The limo at TC for 30 minutes is a non-negotiable $340 plus a fully-expected $20 tip to the driver, so $360 total. $150 at Follies vs. $360 at TC makes TC more than twice the cost for the same thing. That, to me, is pricey. I like a full 30-minute experience, but if you finish in 5 minutes I guess you could do the 15-minute limo for $220 plus the $20 tip for the driver, or $240 total. That's still $40 more than the most expensive Follies girl. Frankly, if I could only last 5 minutes, I would probably think the VIP in *any* club is pricey.

Great review, doctorevil (as always), and helpful post-review comments between you and GoVikings. I've been here quite a few times myself, and I agree that it's a very nice club with girls who are both attractive and friendly -- and that the pricing structure is more complicated than it really needs to be. Yes, there are cameras everywhere, as I found out shortly after they first opened the Treasure Room. I was told by the girl that we could do anything in there, but I was reprimanded by a disembodied male voice when my hands roamed a bit too far. Kind of pricey for such limited mileage. The limo is pricey, too, but there is definitely no camera in the limo. Just sayin'.

^ Thanks for the clarification. Yeah, Outer Space is certainly not large (especially the bar itself), but from your description I was thinking it was La Pearl. When I said that Outer Space was much larger than La Pearl, that's an accurate statement as far as it goes. Just about anyplace would be larger than La Pearl, which has to be one of the smallest "strip clubs" in the entire country -- if not the world.

Chocoman, was this at the small bar on the first floor? If so, you were at La Pearl Lounge, which, as Papi notes, does have very quirky hours. The Outer Space Club is upstairs, and it's much larger than La Pearl. Same front door, though. La Pearl is to the left and Outer Space is up the stairs to the right.

FYI, there's no charge for a booth during the day.

Hmm... First-time post on TUSCL -- a rave but generic review with no details whatsoever. Everything was "the best." Concludes with "Check it out, bring a little $ to spread around, it’s worth it." Sorry, but this one smells like a club ad to me.

I've been with Cake twice. First time was absolutely fantastic -- complete GFE. Unbelievably fun! Second time (maybe a year later) was just so-so. You pays your money and takes your chances.

Excellent review. Very well written and informative. Although I've only been here once, everything in the review seems 100% accurate to me. I was there a year and a half ago on a Monday afternoon, and they ran a special -- "4 for 3" nude lap dances for $103. That was an especially good deal at a place that's otherwise very, very expensive. Not sure if they still offer that pricing. As stated above, the eye candy here is spectacular.

I was here only once, and yeah, it's very pricey -- even more so at night, I think. The girls are absolutely gorgeous, though, and they get paid more by management to walk around the club (and stop to chat) while fully nude, which means the eye candy alone is worth the price of admission.

Yeah, SSJ's is hit or miss. Sounds like you got hit by Miss Caramel. She delivers, but she's a real shark. The other girls there also deliver, but are much less aggressive.

My recollection is that if the bar is on the left side of the room when you walk in, I was at a table on the right side.

So uhh... I'm surprised you rated the Dollar Value as 6 out of 10. From your review, it sounds more like a 1. $40 for valet parking? On a Thursday afternoon?? At *this* club??? Thanks for letting us know.
