Breathe, breathe in the air
@Sancho the lead character is a chain-smoking, drunken, cynical, Irish misanthrope (and those are his good points). It's a deliberate skewering of the drunk mick stereotype, but people no longer understand satire.

In the UK, Black Books could not be made today even though it was hysterically funny. Dylan Moran is one of my heroes.

I grew up in California in the '70s and '80s. You idiots thinking it was paradise under the GOP in general and Ronnie Raygun in particular are completely fucking delusional. SIGALERT ring any fucking bells, or did you enjoy breathing orange air and drinking olive-drab water?

I'm on hiatus from clubbing; been spending WAY too much time and money over the past six months (when a typical visit runs over a grand and I'm not independently wealthy, yeah, that's too much). Fortunately I have plenty of other hobbies to keep me entertained.
The oxytocin withdrawal is a bitch, though. Strippers are my only source of physical affection. I know, kri moar PL.

Flying is probably my only luxury (if we're defining it as "expensive and not strictly necessary"), even if my airplane is the equivalent of a 1977 Toyota Tercel and not "luxurious" by any means. To go further with the original "other people think it's dumb," yeah, others' reactions to finding out I'm a pilot are pretty evenly split between "OMG that's so cool!" and "OMG you're gonna diiiiieeee" and "OMG HOW VERY DARE YOU GO AROUND SPEWING LEAD AND NOISE AND GETTING 10 MILES PER GALLON YOU PLANET-KILLING BASTARD".
So, yeah.

But we *are* G. rexes. It comes from living in a place where the sun actively tries to kill us nine months out of the year.

@CJ: "Unintended/unwanted pregnancies are not "accidents." They are predictable consequences of having sex without protection/contraception."
You do realize that no contraception method is bulletproof, right?

I have five strippers' numbers. None have approached me for OTC, and only my ATF pings me just to say hi and ask how I'm doing.

I’m early Gen X. My son is early millennial and fits every negative stereotype. I did my best to raise him by example, not helicoptering nor outsourcing his education to devices, but apparently I failed. Dude can’t even be bothered to get his drivers license and can’t hold a job.

tool is one of the more popular spins in my club, especially tracks from Opiate and Undertow. For some reason, when I asked the DJ to spin "Vicarious," he politely declined.

Like others have stated, I've known a few pibbles and they're the silliest, sweetest goofballs until you fuck with their pack. I'm not even a dog guy, I much prefer cats, but if I had the time for a doggo, it would be a pit.
One of my CFs has two mini Schnauzers. They're about as vicious as a hamster.

Carving a perfect line through a decreasing radius turn.
Sticking the landing in tough conditions, or greasing it on with a nervous passenger who says "Wait... did we just land?".
100 shots in the X ring, so that the other old-timers on the range ask me if I get bored putting them all through the same hole.

One of my faves is in her 50s. She's a petite, perfectly proportioned fireball who's very energetic on stage and in private. And she makes way more bank than the bored young GPSes.

Satsuma has the right of it, I think. I know it's a game. My faves know it's a game. As long as there no expectations, doesn't mean we can't have fun in the meantime. OP is overthinking.

I used to drive a Hornet. Holy mother of god and all her wacky nephews, that thing was a barely-rolling shitpile.
But the Bobcat was *worse*.
Therefore, Hornet. QED.

I'm good with anything but '60s & '70s wild bush. My main faves both have very well trimmed landing strips; being a flyer, I had to make wisecracks about short vs soft-field landings. Another, upon telling me she's a Brazil native, I challenged her to prove it.
Narrator: "She did in fact prove it."

*shrug* I don't do group things as a rule, and Sturgis is absolutely not my jam. Mesa (two towns over from Phoenix) does Motorcycles On Main in the less-nuclear-hot months, that's about as groupy as I get.

Reputable charities don't spam people begging for donations. I get 10-20 spam per day about Camp Fucking Lejeune since the settlement was announced, even though I'm not a Marine and wasn't part of the class action. Look up Red Cross or similar if you want to donate to Ian relief.
@Muddy those "would you like to round up for [local for-the-kiddies]" are bullshit. I asked a few of them how much money actually makes it to the stated beneficiaries: none. Not one fucking cent.
