My workout club used to be open 24×7 so I used to hit the gym shower after a night of clubbing to wash off the glitter, cheap perfume, etc.

This sounds like one of those "Get poor quick schemes"
To think Hertz was going to issue more shares not too long ago and was blocked by the SEC. The bet on that stock is that people start traveling again by air asap and renting cars (and buying used ones at the rate pre-covid) like crazy. That's a bad bet and even the airlines know it and are decommissioning aircraft at a high rate knowing no demand in the near future.

@ PD From where I sit I agree it's not right. I bet many politicians think it's not right too. But they are pandering to their constituents and interests. For most politicians it would be political suicide in the US especially now it's all tangled up with this very wide interpretation of "trafficing".

@Eve in theory yes. But in practice politicians make compromise legislative deals and lawyers make money on those laws created from those deals. Both make decisions based on their own self-preservation and enrichment.

Don't really care. I leave my own baggage at the door of the club. I am there to have a good time and if I was there to meet like minded people then it would be boring and likely everyone has their clothes on.

Shotguns are very practical for home defence, high power at short range, wide spread, knockdown power, low velocity, not going to cause collateral damage.

I would say if you think it's all coming apart then put your money where your mouth is. Shift the bulk of your money to commodities like gold, silver, bitcoin, etc. and ride it out. If you are long usa equities then you really don't feel that way.
Personally I am and always been long and strong usa equities. I am still bullish long term but have hedged with a bit more commodities medium term.
Its election year and the fear mongers from both sides are out in full force. Just turn down the volume on the TV and carry on with life. (Unless you live in downtown Portland in which case hunker down and lock and load).

Communication and media are a force beyond anything in the past. These so called riots are small potatoes exaggerated by media and those with an agenda.
The late 60's were a terrible time in America for civil unrest and serious riots. Union protests and riots early 20th century, Civil War protest northern riots, Whiskey rebellion, you name it the USA has had real rebellions. This is nothing if you study American history.

Poker Stars is a solid proxy site for live play. Unfortunately I find if you like tournament poker is has pretty limited options for designing your own structure. Poker Bros is another big proxy free play platform for that but is designed just for mobile devices. Much more flexible with tourney structure design but I find playing on a small mobile device somewhat annoying. I prefer Stars overall and it's fairly stable.

Ford got it right with the redesign of the Navigator too. That's a pretty "cool" recent vehicle IMO. But yes, Ford needs this new image.
