Reading Reviews
Eww, just noticed this (usually only check for local reviews once every couple of days.) I agree with OP - it makes it hard to browse reviews when there's been multiples since I last checked. @Papi_Chulo: I'm not seeing that button even after a reload on the review page itself - I see something similar on the club list though. Where are you seeing it? I can't be -that- blind...

Has this happened to any of you?
I know of at least one local PL that I might randomly run into and say hi if I knew who it was, but ultimately (like many in this thread it seems,) I'd really prefer to club alone. Getting a lapdance is only a two-player game as far as I'm concerned - I don't want any other joysticks thrown in the mix.

How common is it for PLs not to pay dancers?
I find it interesting that I'd never been asked to pre-pay or pay in the middle of a string of dances until recently, especially since getting a long string of dances was my norm. Now, I just do the 3/$100 deals to try dancers out before moving to VIP. I think it depends on when I'm asked. Being asked before I even sit down for the lap dance carries the implication that I'm a cheap bastard that can't pay. I don't like that, and I especially don't like that in a club where I'm a regular. On the other hand, being asked after getting 5-6 dances (which is easily $200+ around here) and shooting for more? Totally fair, and I'm a lot less likely to be annoyed by that - especially since I've been in a situation where I double-checked and found I was a $20 or two short of what I -thought- I had in my bankroll.

> I hate vapers who are inconsiderate and say "it's just water vapor" Yeeeeah. That's a great line when you're talking about how it's better than smoking, but it's not right. It's propylene glycol vapor (which is the exact same thing as a "smoke machine" at a concert or something.) And if you're blowing shit in people's faces, no matter what, you're just an asshole.

Yup, sounds like you ran afoul of a popular dancer and all her friends by being who you are.

Touching during lapdances and private parties questions
Can't speak to the "private" parties, but touching "anything not covered by cloth" during a topless lapdance is fairly standard. Some girls have more or less strict boundaries. In the other direction, the dancers may do anything from light friction/teasing to stick shifting - again, as a standard. Of course, this isn't -strictly- permitted by a careful reading of the law, but for now, nobody seems to care. And of course, there are places where more is possible - big shock there. IMO, if you're doing things outside of the club norms, find another club. If you're giving air dances in a full-contact club, you're not going to make much in the way of money. If you're giving full-contact dances in an air dance club, you're fucking with other dancers' money and potentially risking bringing heat down on the club. Neither one is a good situation. The weird bit is that you say you're NOT really doing more than the standard - maybe you just ran into a catty dancer that took an immediate dislike to you? The above isn't particularly bad advice, but it may not apply.

Just here for a good time.
Chicago, specifically Oakbrook/Lombard Area
This is relevant to my interests, since I end up in Oak Brook for business once or twice a year on average. Thanks for the review compilation, DD - it's hard to find a "good" club that's within a reasonable distance if you don't know the area.

PinkSugarDoll: >We had a club open here that is not Djv and it is finally starting to impact Djv business. I'm pretty sure I know what club you're talking about that's changing things, and it explains a whole lot. In the case of the downtown core DJV, fuck 'em. Prices are too high - if I'm going to spend my limited entertainment budget at a club, I'm going where the dances are cheaper (and better.) It's not great for the dancers obviously, but if they start losing the dancers who make them money, maybe house fees will come down? I can only hope. The other downtown club, I'd be sad to see go - it's chill, the girls there seem happy (for certain values of happy,) mileage is decent, and prices are "okay" (still a bit high, but not price gouge high.) I admit, as a Seattle PL, even I have started going to the new club - it's just a way better value for my limited "entertainment" budget.

Anybody here live super close to a SC
I live 2-3 blocks from the closest strip club. It's not an amazing club by most people's standards, but I definitely visit that club more often than pretty much any other in the area. The problem is, I'm the sort to go in once every month or two and drop $800, rather than getting 2-3 lapdances ($80-100 total) every week. If the dances were cheaper? Yeah, I'd probably visit a bit more often.

What days do you usually go to the strip club?
I'm not much of a daytime clubber - with very few exceptions, I almost always end up doing evenings (early-ish, like 8-11pm.) As for days, I don't have a specific preference. I tend towards weekdays because the clubs tend to be quieter, but I'm not averse to going on the weekend since the clubs around here don't seem to get really busy until 10pm anyway. I can't think of a time (at my main club, at least) where there haven't been enough girls there for me to enjoy myself.

You're mistaking cynicism for being jaded. Cynicism is a good defense against getting fucked in the club (and I don't mean FS either.) Being jaded is when you stop going to the club, because you're no longer having fun.

Okay, just checked with the Wikipedia article, and it looks like I was off - the weighted average would combine for a rating of 2.5 - still significantly lower than the unweighted 5.5 though.

Wouldn't -any- weighting be better than no weighting? I can't make the math work out in my head here. CL 10 gives 1 point to a club. CL 2 (for ease of math) gives a club a 10. No weighting: Club gets (10+1) / 2 points in their review, for a total rating of 5.5 With weighting: Club gets ((10/12 * 1) + (2/12 * 10)) / 2 points in their review, for a rating of 1.25 (if I'm remembering weighted averages correctly, at least - weight of an individual review would basically be CL/total CL.) That barely moves the needle on a shitty club.

@Huntsman: To be fair, I research each club pretty extensively as well - I can probably appreciate your viewpoint more than you think. I'm just not likely to take pen and paper to write down what's available on which day - I just get an overall feel for the club, but the "overall' was skewed by a lot of weekday daytime reviews, when I was going on a weekend night. Not that I didn't have a good time, but it was a bit different from what I was expecting when I walked in.

are you the only one in your immediate family that loves SCs?
Immediate family? Definitely - I'm an only child, my dad's dead, and who cares where my mother is. :V If my dad were still alive, I'd bet VIP money that he'd WANT to go to a strip club. He just wouldn't have been able to because of the aforementioned mother. As for the rest of the extended family - I've got one cousin who I sort of suspect is either a current or former dancer. I'd be entirely unsurprised (a bit squicked, but unsurprised) to walk into a club "back home" and see her there. The remainder of the extended family is pretty straight-laced Christian - not that it means anything, but it's hard to imagine the rest of them even driving past a club without catching a case of the vapors.

@Clubber: Yeah, I don't think the rating is worth a damn - but time of day is very useful, if only because it seems like you'll get similar service (or "service") at similar times of day. Similarly, one local club apparently has a really shitty manager on Tuesday daytimes - I guess they're a lot more attentive to the lap dance room than the average. This is good intel in the moment, but a trend like this would pop out given a sufficient number of reviews. @Huntsman: I was thinking of something really simple, like a drop-down that lists the times of day, and then a dropdown that lists days of the week. You could pick "anytime" or one (or both) of the times/days, and it'd only show you reviews that matched that.

There's already different times for reviews; what may be helpful (and what I think you're asking for) is a way to filter on various aspects of the review, i.e. time of day, day of week, money spent, etc. Not that you shouldn't read all the reviews, but filtering for your particular case could give you more focused information (i.e. I'm looking for another club to skip out to after a shitty experience - how does it look during this day of the week and what can I get for the money I have in my pocket?) I visited a very "extras" club a couple of weeks ago because of exactly the above scenario (shitty club visit,) and it was... nowhere near as extra as I was expecting from the reviews. Much like Darkblue999, more careful reading of the reviews made me realize that most of the extras are dayshift - evenings are slightly more normal. Fortunately, I wasn't there looking for the extras, but I can see how someone could make the mistake.
