Compliment you receive from dancers
Over on SW, one of the big techniques for girls seems to be "figure out how to stroke 'his' ego." Just because a compliment is genuine doesn't mean it's not still SS.

What does it mean when a stripper hugs you after you tell her you aren't buying
+1 for the sales technique. Still applies if you're a regular, too. I often get hugs from dancers who are happy to see me... because they know I bring money with me into the club. I won't say they're not genuinely pleased to see me in there, but I'm just cynical enough to know that if I were a broke-ass PL, I'd get a WHOLE lot less attention.

Soft, formal-looking pants with belt loops - looking for recommendations?
Lots of good suggestions for types of pants to look at here, and plenty of good info for people who have looser requirements than I do. +1 on the Haggar pants by the way - these are actually my current favorites, even if I'm looking for something better. Linen and silk pants are two other good ideas. Hell, I might even get a pair of pajama pants based on @houjack's suggestion and have a friend of mine alter them to have belt loops - she's good at that sort of stuff (although I suspect if she knew the reason, she'd be less than happy to do it :V) For me, @wallanon hit it on the head with "wearing the clothes that give you the most confidence going into the club is a good idea." Sure, I could wear basketball shorts and an untucked shirt, but I'd spend the whole time feeling weird about it whether I was in the club or not. I'm a fat PL, so I feel like I need to look semi-nice to make up for it.

Question for experienced mongers only.
I'm probably more in the journeyman category than experienced, but this has happened to me exactly once - and it was because of prices that were way too high for the area. Of course even then, I went elsewhere and spent it. If you're going to an unknown (or even known) club that turns out to suck, have a second option in mind before you walk in the door and be willing to take it.

Papi_Chulo: Also, thanks for that link. I vaguely remembered reading something like that somewhere, but couldn't find it. Gee, I wouldn't have to triple post if we could just edit our comments. @Founder.

Soft, formal-looking pants with belt loops - looking for recommendations?
shailynn: Actually not an older dude, but I do still have that problem. It's also a style thing, since I usually club in a button-up shirt and black slacks - I think untucked shirts look a bit trashy. I blame it on old military indoctrination. :p Honestly, from what I've seen, most dancers will just unbuckle the belt if it bothers them.

Soft, formal-looking pants with belt loops - looking for recommendations?
Papi_Chulo: Without a belt, pants tend to fall down when you DON'T want them to. And huh, silk pants. I never actually considered those, although looking around it appears they're not quite as common for the "big and tall" crowd unless you want to pay $200 a pair.

Fake body parts
If I can identify it as fake, it's too fake for my tastes. I've seen (and felt) a couple of excellently-done boob jobs, but some of these girls look... almost too pretty (or "pretty," as the case may be)

How did you come up with your TUSCL name ?
Shuffling the random numbers because "1234" is always taken. Riveting, isn't it? Being "anonymous" keeps the... less socially acceptable things separate from the more "public" image I've cultivated. Not that it's too much better, but y'know, anonymity of the Internet and all that.

BAD RAP EXTINCT
Well, at least it's a clearly-marked club ad. :V Remember, you don't clean up your rep in a day. Tidy the place up, get some hot dancers in, post some pictures somewhere (Facebook, website, etc.,) and maybe you'll attract some people. And there's a -recent- review that indicates that nothing has changed since the earlier bad reviews. And remember - lying/posting false pictures might get a couple of people in once, but you'll lose out even more in the long term once the reviews hit. Shitty management is just as bad as - if not worse than - a shitty club.

Clapping
+1 to SirLDA and Bj99. Pretty much always clap, always tip if you're watching. Even if I don't particularly like the dancer, it's just polite and cheap goodwill in the grand scheme of things. And even if you're not watching from the stage, I imagine clapping > no clapping at all. I think about the only time I don't do both is if it's a dancer that's pissed me off in the past for one reason or another. I'll pointedly get up and leave the stage area when she comes on, and no claps.

Hell yes. It doesn't cost anything to clap, and the approaches tend to be a lot friendlier (at least around here) when you do.

I considered it, but I don't get paid 'til midnight and I don't have enough cash hanging around that I can have my "typical" night at the club. I guess I could go for a really late night, but meh. Need to work tomorrow and too much bullshit to do.

Question for you "older guys"
I'd put the split at 30 and 50. 30 or younger would be young, older than 50 would be "old". We'll see how I feel in 15 years when I hit "old" though. ;p

Do I cut this PL? (Long.. sorry)
Reading this, it sounds like you didn't wait for (or ask for) a cue from him. i.e. "Oh, sorry, were you wanting to get dances from her? I assumed that since you sat with me..." or something to that effect. Now, the lying bitch in question... call it disorientation, drink, or whatever, but you missed one crucial bit - he sat with -you-. Personally, I'd blackball a dancer for pulling a stunt like that, but keep in mind - he might have problems with being assertive as well. Ultimately, I think there's three places to blame - the PL, for not sticking with you when he wanted to at least hang out with you; the dancer who came up, for being a liar; and yourself, for not catching that you got played (as someone who often lacks situational awareness, I fully understand this by the way.) tl;dr: Don't cut him, at least not without giving him another chance. Seems like he's one of those "good customers," especially since he dropped you a $20 - if he's as much of a regular as you implied, you'd just be losing a potential good income stream for a single incident.

Giving Details vs Being Vague
^^ This. It's plausible deniability for the PL and the dancer. That, and MY lap dance experience won't necessarily match EVERYONE'S lap dance experience. I've had great dances from girls who have been totally shat on in reviews, and shitty dances from girls that came highly recommended. I find that my attitude in a strip club (ask before touching, let them know when I'm spending money, etc.) gets me further - at least with SOME girls. Of course, I like to go into detail on a dancer's appearance and attitude - anything beyond that is between her and the PL she's sitting on, but appearance and attitude are pretty consistent.

From SW: How to spot a timewaster
@Subraman: Saw it a week or two ago, actually. Well, heard the DJ announce it since I was actually getting dances. They closed down the stage for about 30 minutes because nobody was tipping or getting dances out there. Of course, it's also a no-alcohol club - they were literally just taking up space at that point.

Interesting what gets people defined as a timewaster. -->"Refuses to interact with you during your approach and greeting. Is not interested in your offer to come back with a friend. This guy has no money & came in to fill up space." No, this guy has no money for YOU. Or you're being rude and approaching him while he's very obviously watching stage shows (this is actually me most of the time.) -->"Appears to be under the influence of hard narcotics or is very drunk (smells and looks drunk.)" -->"Indian guys who ask you to show them your pussy while you're on stage. I showed him my middle finger poking out of my crotch and told him he could suck it later, very effective." Eh, mostly fair cop here from what I've seen. These are the guys who caused the stage to get closed down for a half-hour because they weren't tipping OR getting dances. -->"Guys that talk constantly without letting you get a word in edgewise. They don't want you to have time to talk sexy and ask for a dance." Kind of douchey, but what do you want from the kind of guy who goes to strip clubs in the first place? Social skills? Pfft. -->""What, it's an extra 10% to pay with my card? 10%?!" I know they're going to be a pain in the arse as soon as I hear that." "Ha, I'd love to hear this stripper's reaction if she were told the club were taking an extra 10% from her. She's very generous with other people's money LOL" <-- Agreed -->""What does your man think about what you do?""Your man let's you do this for a living?""If were your man I would get you out of here and take care of you."" "I'm with the girls on this one!" <-- Agreed again. Oh, SW. Such interesting insights into certain people's minds.
