    Raids
I've had two related experiences. Both were at the now-closed Honey's, in Everett, WA. One time about three cops came in in full uniform. The (female) manager on duty was able to get over to the VIP area, where I happened to be at the moment, and quitely walked among the fourtee lap dances booths and told all the dancers there to stop dancing. It turns out it wasn't a raid. The cops were there looking for a specific individual that had been reported in the area. Another time, the same manager approached me as I came in and suggested that I wait a while before getting any dances. There were undercover cops in the club. She knew just who they were, where they were sitting, and she said she'd let me know when they left. About 40 min. later she told me it was okay now. I really appreciated that.

    She's Gone . . .
What went wrong is you, Steve. I always advise other club-goers not to get wrapped up in just one dancer. I have always had several faves at any one time. Knowing full well that a dancer could disappear without warning, I have others I can turn to when that happens, and it has happened a few times to me.

    Seattle area clubs.
I don't think there is a high mileage club in Washington state, anymore. Pandora's and Sands are the only "moderate mileage" clubs. Day shift is probably better than night shift. All Washington state clubs are nude on stage, but for lap dances the dancers are required to keep their clothes on. Some dancers will flash for you. I have heard of condom wrappers being found around the club at Pandora's. In general Washington is not a high mileage state. Let us know if you do go to a club here, and what your experience was!

Rock & Roll strip club coming to Vegas.
I wonder if Vince Neil bothered to study the age group that spends money in strip clubs to see if that corresponds to the age group that likes the environment he intends to create in his new club. Me thinks not.

Boyfriends and husbands in the club
I'm with lopaw on this one. I didn't like it just the one time was ever mentioned to me. If I knew a boyfriend or husband was in the club, at least I wouldn't get dances with that dancer that night. In all my years of club-going, that didn't happen to me until a few months ago. I was asking the dancer that I knew, if she was still living with her grandmother. She said, "Oh no. I moved in with my boyfriend about a month ago." I then asked if he was a customer of hers. She said, "Yes, and he's sitting right over there (pointing to someone about 30 feet away)." I wish she had told me that before our dances. As I left the club a half hour later, she was sitting in his lap.

Seattle Talk Radio Show Host Discusses Trip to Strip Club
@ Alucard: True! Dreamgirls is a Deja Vu-owned club. Low mileage. Even as low mileage as Seattle Clubs are, generally, John Curley could have taken them to two others, better known for better "performance."

    More shit from Utah
When I was about ten years old, I remember hearing a story on TV or radio news with my dad present in the room. It was about something generally considered immoral. (I don't recall the exact issue, now.) My dad was explaining to me what a waste of time, money, and taxpayer resources it is to "legislate morality." I have never forgotten that parental advice. This is just one more example.

Ever had a lap dance that was too rough?
Like GoV said, I too like my lap dances slow and sensual. I was passing through Bullhead City, AZ in 2005 and stopped at the lone strip club there. There wasn't much of a choice of dancers, but I chose to get dances with one girl. There was a three-song set for a special price. After the first song started I had to tell the dancer to please slow down. She acknowledged me, and seemed to make an effort to change her tempo. But, nothing was different. I had to ask her two more times. Still no improvement, so I cut my losses and got up and left the club in the middle of the second song. I've also been nearly injured by dancers slamming their butt into my stomach before.

    Strippet REJECTION
I knew a dancer once of your same description. I was a regular of hers. Keep trying. That part of the country has the greatest population of anywhere in the U.S. There has to be clubs that will hire you. Also, look for a private message (PM) from me.

    Seattle South King County
Maybe further south, in Pierce County, is where you'll have to go. The two clubs you mentioned are the only south King County clubs. Sin Rock is very strict in enforcing the rules, and at the Deja Vu, Tukwila, you probably won't find enough dancers to find one that you like. If you can, call the Deja Vu, Lakewood, first to see how many dancers they have, compared to Tukwila. If Lakewood has substantially more, I recommend going to Lakewood. It's a much longer drive, but the other two are likely to be very disappointing.

    Stripers and Eyeglasses
In the past year or more, I have noticed a lot more dancers wearing glasses. I don't know if it's the economy and they can't afford contacts, but there's definitely an uptrend in wearing glasses in the clubs I go to. With good choosing, a pair of glasses can add an accent to the face, much like jewelry can elsewhere.

Dancers that don't go on stage
mjx01, I agree with you on the benefits of a dancer advertising. I've always advocated that to any dancer I've known that was shy about going on stage. Some dancers think they're good enough at getting dances just circulating on the floor, and that going on stage is a waste of time for them. I have two long time faves right now that avoid going on stage whenever they can. One just doesn't like to be the center of attention. I can understand that, but I think she'd benefit from the exposure (my puns are always intended). The other is self-conscious about her appearance. She hasn't told me that, but it's easy to figure out. She's gained a lot of weight in the past couple of years, and she knows it. In some clubs, dancers can avoid going on stage by paying an extra fee ($40. at one club that I knew of). Some dancers will avoid it by tipping the d.j., with the understanding that the tip for for keeping them OFF stage.

Zoning Keeps a Strip Club Closed
@ xedin: It's most likely the use that became nonconforming, not the structure. I don't know what the amortization schedule is for termination of nonconforming uses for the city of Warren, MI, so the article is all I have to go by. When either becomes nonconforming, cities don't usually like to allow the expansion of a nonconforming use or structure. Yes, any city I ever worked in required zoning approval prior to issuance of a building permit. The article seems to indicate that at least some, maybe most, of the work was done without the benefit of a building permit. Then, when the club got caught it tried to apply for a zoning variance, after the fact.

Zoning Keeps a Strip Club Closed
I worked in city planning for over twenty years. Much of that time was in zoning. I particularly understand zoning of adult or sexually oriented businesses. Just from reading the newspaper article, early on it states that it was a legal, nonconforming business. That means that it was likely legal and conformed to all zoning requirements when it was first built. But, the zoning requirements changed after that. It's now nonconforming. The business may remain at that location, mostly likely only for a limited period of time. It is generally very difficult to obtain approval for an expansion of a nonconforming business. By nature of its nonconforming status, the local jurisdiction wants to eliminate that business from that location, not allow it to expand. Another strip club, but in the L.A. area, the Hawaii Theater in Industry, CA ran into a similar problem, due to its nonconforming status. The essence is, that once a property or business owner who has been determined to be nonconforming, time is limited to remain in business at that location, and any expansion usually isn't worthwile.

The topless clubs where you can drink or the fully nude clubs that you can see e
With regard to where customers can get better mileage/extras, I've said this before: It seems that generally, clubs that serve alcohol are more strict in enforcing their rules, than nude clubs are. This is because alcohol-serving clubs make most of their money from alcohol sales. If they get busted for lap dance violations, they risk loosing their liquor licenses. Non-alcohol clubs risk less if they get into trouble with the law. As a related observations, my experience mirrors what lopaw described above.

I'm with Alucard on this one. I don't lie to dancers. I just steer clear of any conversation where I don't want them to know the truth. In my situation, I really have very little about my life I don't want dancers to know about. I have two strong faves right now. They both know about the other. They work at separate clubs presently. What I don't tell them much about is that I go to other clubs as well. I downplay that aspect of the club-going habits.

It's 2 AM - do you know where your Stripper is?
Steve229, Your experience beat mine by 30 minutes. The latest I've ever received that kind of call was at 1:30 a.m. I went to bed at 11:30 p.m. that night. The club that that girl worked at was open until 4:00 a.m. However, I always turn my phone's ringer off before going to bed, so I didn't even know of the call until I awoke in the morning, and listed to her desperate-sounding voicemail. I've usually made my plans for the evening by 9:00 p.m.(even if the plans are not to go out at all). When dancers call me after that time, they're usually SOL.

    Feature Dancers Survey
This is a substantial enough of a topic to be a thread on its own: I agree with all the others above, on the subject of giveaway caps and T-shirts from strip clubs. I sense they don't get worn out of anyone's house very much. I've only received two that I though were socially acceptable enough to wear outside: A baseball cap from the Blue Zebra, in North Hollwood, CA (a Spearmint Rhino property) and a long-sleeve T-shirt from Diamond's (now Scarlett's) in Oregon, OH.
