[OT] What are you reading?
The Witcher: The Last Wish. The basis for at least portions of The Witcher TV series. Next on the list is a re-read of Sanderson's Mistborn series, because I just picked up books 4 through 6 of the series.

Turning a civilian into a suger baby or OTC date
Long ago I was checking out at Walmart. The cashier was a very attractive young woman, about 5 months pregnant, whom I'd seen there a number of times over the last year. She'd checked me out maybe half a dozen times, and we'd exchanged minor pleasantries. We struck up a conversation again, and the conversation turned to how she was going to deal, since baby daddy had left. I remember expressing that at least she had a job, and she lamented that it was one with insurance. So I said, "it sounds like you need a winning lottery ticket." I swear to the gods, she replied, "or a sugar daddy." She must have not intended to say it out loud, because she turned beet red. She must have quit right after that because I never saw her again there, except for at the farmer's market a few years ago with a kid and a man trailing along. Too bad; it would have been mighty tempting to try to follow up on that.

Rant/ question
@Livviebarbie: After reading all of your subsequent posts, I stand by my original post. The help you truly need won't be found in a sugar daddy; you need to change your life in ways that mere money won't do. For a while, I couldn't decide if you're far enough into the mental instability rabbit hole that you can't recognize the help that's available to you, or if you're simplly not interested in that help and just want people to give you money.

Rant/ question
I don't want to sound flippant, but it really sounds to me like the last thing you need is a sugar daddy, unless it's a sugar daddy who is willing to get you the kind of help it sounds like you really need, like entry into a woman's shelter, life and job skills, etc. Women in your position are absolutely ripe for exploitation by unscrupulous types, pimps, traffickers and assorted other scumbags. Most of the women who are truly successful at sugaring and content creation seem to already be in a place where they don't really need it. They have family, or other jobs, or something else to fall back on.

@Call.Me.Ishmael: "Interestingly, though the price of meat has gone up by orders of magnitude at the supermarket, the price increases at my local farm have been much more modest. The price gap between supermarket and local farm has closed considerably." I've noticed this as well. Even Walmart and Kroger have skyrocketed, but the farmer's market stuff is still pretty much where it was two years ago. It's gone up some, of course, because of other things, but as one of the guys at one of the most diverse stands put it, "we pay more for fuel, and other stuff we can't self source, but almost everything else we make or grow ourselves."

Have yet to get an actual dedicated sous vide appliance. I've used a pot and a candy thermometer. It's probably not as "perfect" as a dedicated appliance, but it still produces some amazing results.

The Three Stooges
The Three Stooges exemplify the truth that the things we find easiest to laugh at, and laugh at the hardest, are people being hurt or discomfitted, either physically or mentally. We laugh at pain, both our own, and that of others.

@rick: Stove top to oven or grill in one pot is just soooooo bloody handy. My dutch over broke from being dropped on concrete about 15 years ago, and for a variety of reasons, I didn't replace it. At a garage sale about 5 years later, I found a set of two cast iron ones. One is a large (8qt, I think?) camping version with the top able to hold coals, and the other is a smaller, more typically kitchen sized, 4 or 5 quart, ones. They were both rusted to hell, but I got them for a dollar. Took me a week of alternating vinegar baths, scrubbing (a wire brush on a drill is your friend here), and baking dry on my grill burner, followed by re-seasoning to get them back, but now, while not yet quite as good as my old one, they're both still awesome. I also have a skillet and a griddle that my grandmother gave me before she passed. (Boy, was my aunt pissed off when she found out they were gone after she died! 🤣🤣) That's where most of my bacon, eggs, pancakes, burgers, and steaks are cooked.

Food network and a few YouTube channels, e.g. Bon Appétit, allthingsbbg, Gordon Ramsay, Mad Scientist BBQ have been a few I've kept. Agree with the InstaPot sentiment expressed earlier, but I use the hell out of my crockpot. While I prefer to sear most roasts before putting them in, I've found the easiest way to get a fork tender corned beef brisket is to in the night before straight from the freezer. Yes, I know that's a waste of electricity, but the results are amazing. I can no longer eat unseasoned vegetables, and almost all of them are better stir-fried in a little olive oil along with your favorite seasonings. Zucchini and Summer Squash with some toasted sesame oil and a pinch of cayenne. Learn how to roast garlic! A tiny bit of fresh habanaro or ghost pepper goes a long way. I make a double (4lbs of meat) batch of chili with half a ghost pepper, sans seeds, and it's bloody awesome. Jalapenos are too bitter for me unless they've been smoked dried into chipotles. My only gripe is that my house doesn't have gas, so I'm stuck with an electric range. But, cast iron mostly doesn't care.

Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life
Dayton, Ohio
A dancer who used to work at Cheeks told me several years ago that Cheetah's was populated by Cheek's rejects. 🙃 Haven't been to Lex in a number years, but some of the dancers who bounce between Louisville and Lex claim that, in general, the Lex clubs are better for the girls than the ones in Louisville, so take that how you will. If you're looking for nudity, the choice is clear between them: Lexington. I personally don't have a problem with clubs in the Ville, but I've lived here for two decades.

Yeah, we don't have Amazon Fresh here in Louisville, either. We do have a Whole Foods. My majority purchase there these days is the deli meat. It's more expensive than other places, but it actually tastes like food, and not loaded down with salt.

Happens a lot, if posts on USASG are any indication. In fact, more often than not. Most of the "discrepancies" seem to be girls using older pictures of their younger, slimmer, healthier, and less worn out selves. Another group seems to at least try to find representative pictures, ostensibly to maintain their own personal privacy. Of course, many of these substitutions are porn stars, so "representative" can be, ahem, subject to interpretation.

Been using it since around last October or November. It's bloody convenient as hell. I don't always get "same day" delivery (especially for out of stock items that have to come from another store or a warehouse), but as long as the order is over $35 total, it is free, even if they split the delivery. And yeah, no cold stuff, diary, meat or produce in the delivery stuff. Just not worth letting someone else pick it. I do sometimes get meat from them, the reduced stuff that goes in my freezer immediately for a crockpot meal later on, or sometimes burgers that I'm going to cook that day, but I def examine them very carefully before picking them. Most of my meat I get from a couple of local farmers who have their own store, and the produce I get from Kroger.

No, being old and white doesn’t make you the customer almighty automatically
@nicepsice: your comments about younger guys spending more immediately matches what I've been seeing lately as well. The youngest guys seem to make a decision, whether it's to spend or decline, pretty fast. The next age bracket seems to take a little longer to decide, but seems more amenable to saying yes, and spending some more. It's us older guys who want to spend the entire night talking for a $20 tip and offer marriage and vacation getaways instead of dances and VIPs. One of my favorites mentions this fairly often. She objects to the youngest crowd because when they find out she won't fuck for free, they lose interest, so she actually has to work harder (as in act not irritated) to make additional sales, where as the older ones aren't as focused on getting "free" sex.

Hypocrisy, Tetradon. Hypocrisy. The politicians are telling others that they shouldn't have what they themselves were given.
