Chandler, do you ever get east to PA or MD? I know a couple of funky little joints that I bet you'd like.

Shadowcat, I'll send one of FONDL's chief inspectors out to verify your claims. But he probably won't be able to get there until sometime in late October, he's pretty tied up right now.

Shadowcat and Chandler, it sounds like the clubs you are describing are what I would call either GC-wannabes or neighborhood bar-LD factory hybrids, both are quite common. The GC-wannabes are those places that pretend to be GCs but haven't made the big investment necessary to really fit into that category, nor are they usually able to hire the top quality dancers in their area that the GCs can typically attract. But they often do try to charge GC prices. I'd put many of the chain clubs in that category.
The hybrids, on the other hand, usually have the friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices of a neighborhod bar but are often bigger and feature LDs much more so than do most neighborhood bars. I'd but Brad's in that category. But those are my classificatins, others probably classify clubs differently (or not at all.)
And Chandler, I don't know of any true GCs that are located near airports, although your area may be different. Or more likely your definition of a GC may be different than mine; by my definition, there aren't very many GCs anywhere, they're not very common. Although that's what everyone thinks of when they hear "strip club." Except us of course. We know better.

My ATF is 30 but she was 20-21 when she danced. My other two faves were both in the 20-22 range when I knew them. Like Chandler, I'm generally drawn to girls about that age in clubs. And I don't think it's necessarily their looks vs. older dancers, I think it's more their personality.

Innocent girl-next-door-type with big fake tits? Shadowcat, your definition of innocenct-looking is different than mine. And the girls you live next door to are very different than the ones I see around here. Must be a Southern thing.

Chandler, the only gentlemen's club I've been to in the past 20 years is Gentlemen's Gold Club in Baltimore, and while it isn't too bad it isn't one of my favorite clubs. I avoid GCs because they're usually way overpriced, there's too much attitude, and they're usually located in downtown areas of big cities, which I also avoid. Like you and Bones, I prefer the smaller neighborhood places, they're a lot more fun and usually much better value.

Chandler, it may make you feel that way but I don't think it necessarily should. The times that my ATF and I have been closest in a physical sense OTC were times when she was pissed at her BF.

Chandler, I was about to say exactly the same thing. I'd add that the only other time I've found it to be worth it is when you get a private room for just the two of you for a reasonable fee, and I don't know of many places like that. Most VIP's are a rip-off and I've always avoided them. In fact, except for BBF, none of my favorite clubs even have a VIP room.

Bones, I know you are joking, but believe me I know. I know this girl better than anyone else on the planet, and I don't mean in a biblical sense.

Shadowcat, sorry about that, but as I'm sure you've noticed before, sometimes I can't resist being silly - you're slip just tickled my funny bone.

I also think a lot of dancers have been rejected by their family since they were born. They've come to expect it.

I once wrote a fairly explicit review here and a couple days later received an email asking if I'd be willing to participate in a conference call about this particular club. I didn't respond but I did email the previous person who reviewed the club and he had received the same email. I assumed it was LE trying to gather evidence against the club. I haven't written an explicit review since. I don't much care what happens to the club but I have no desire to be called as a witness.

Casualguy, there are always some regions that aren't doing well while others are doing great. For example, where I live every small business has a help-wanted sign in the window. Regional differences are normal in a free-market economy. I've been listening to strippers complain about the economy for 40 years, it gets very tiresome. People always want to blame someone or something else for their problems.

"What is there to lose?" Adventureman obviously would like to continue talking to this girl because he enjoys it. But if he comes on like a sex offender, she will probably stop communicating with him. So he doesn't want to appear too eager.

Shadowcat, this particular girl is in fact a full-time college student from a very broken home working her way through college. She's actually on her second tour of duty as a dancer - first time around she was a party girl, now she dances to put herself through school. She started dancing right out of high school and got really messed up on both drugs and alcohol. So she quit dancing for awhile and straightened herself out by going to AA meetings. Eventually she started dancing again but doesn't do any drugs or alcohol anymore. She's pretty intelligent and mature for her age. In that respect she reminds me of my ATF. I think there are a lot of dancers like that out there - it's what I usually look for.

I can honestly say that nothing of this sort has ever happened to me. Maybe that's because I always try to be very clear up front on the prices of any dances. It's probably also a function of the kind of girl I prefer.

Clubber, I guess I overstated my position to make a point. I won't spend time either with a girl who doesn't do something for me. What I meant is that sometimes I'll settle for a girl who is pretty decent but not really my type, then later spot one who is. That's especially likely to happen when I'm exploring a new club because I want to see what the dances are like, even if I don't see a girl who really turns me on. Funny thing is, I've had some pretty good times with a girl who wasn't my type (eg. I always look for the young ones but have had some great time with older dancers.)

For me it depends on how long I've known the girl and how much I like her. I remember once asking a girl to join me who I'd never met before, and as soon as she sat down she started going on and on about how great her boyfriend was - this was a total turn-off for me because it was completely inapproariate. But if I have taken the time to get to know a girl pretty well, then I think some personal discussion is appropriate and I enjoy that. But ony when we're sitting talking, not during a dance.

Shadowcat, I just reread the title to this thread and realized that we weren't addressing the main issue. And I think you are right, whether you are talking about strip clubs or whore houses, the witch usually is going to be the winner.

NJ_pete, I can't believe that you prefer Playhouse Lounge to the nearby Erotic Cafe and Dangerous Curves. I'm curious to know why?

I would also add Sherry's Showbar in Baltimore to the list. It was so bad I haven't been to a strip club since and that was 2 years ago.

I agree with Scott, approach it very very gingerly if at all. I once had a young woman of about 20 email me after reading my reviews here who wanted to try dancing. She actually tried it for a short time somewhere in Indiana, I forget where, but didn't like it. We corresponded for a long time but never really tried to get together - she was interested but I wasn't. Last I heard she was working at Disneyworld. She's actually the second woman who got in touch with me after reading my reviews.

Kimberly at Gentlemen's Gold Club in Baltimore. She's the only perfect 10 across the board - looks, personality and dancing ability - I've ever encountered in a strip club. Unfortunately it's been a long time since I've seen her, but that's another story. Anyway, according to their web site she's still there.

I agree with Shadowcat and DandyDan, I don't mind it at all, in fact I enjoy hearing about the presonal life of a girl who I really like, it makes me feel more like a friend and less like a customer.
