Chandler, I think it's also because some of them are totally bored with their jobs, their minds are a million miles away and their mouths are on autopilot. I've never had a dancer mistake me for someone else but I've had several who forgot having spent time with me the prior week. But that's probably also partly due to how dark clubs often are.

Chandler, I never heard that before but it makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately, like so many good government intentions, the application has become totally illogical and they've completely lost sight of the original objective. The whole point of PA's LCB today is to reward political cronies with high paying jobs that require them to do nothing. Other than that it serves no useful purpose that I can see. Now it's the government who is the organized crime.

No "Miss Anything" contest should require the girls to open their mouths. Who cares if they have a functioning brain, it's not an IQ test, it should be about looks, period. And the costumes should be skimpy bikinis or less. And there shouldn't be any female judges. In fact I'd like to see the judges be all pro football players. Or dirty old men like us.

Harrydave, Baltimore also has nude dancing and alcohol but the rest of Maryland doesn't allow it. Which is why the girls dance nude at Gentlemen's Gold Club and they have a full bar, but 2 blocks away Wagon Wheel is BYOB - they're outside city limits. Both places also have topless laps and you can fondle boobs at the Wheel but not at GGC. And McDoogals, a couple miles away in yet another county, has nude laps and is BYOB but no touching boobs. And if that's not confusing enough, nearby Washington, DC, also has nude dancing and alcohol but no private dances or touching of any kind. Does all this make sense to anyone?
Robofan, that was very amusing but not very historically accurate. Both topless and nude dancing have been around much longer than you indicate. I actually think you've told half the story fairly accurately, but there's another half you missed. At the same time that bar owners were adding go-go girls there also existed the very raunchy dives of places like Boston's Combat Zone and Baltimore's Block. I think today's strip clubs are largely a merging of these two totally different kinds of places. If you want to see what those raunchy places were like, visit Baltimore's Block, which hasn't changed in 50 years. I don't think anything like it exists anywhere else in the country today. It's worth seeing, but only once, and if you go, hang on to your wallet.

OK, I'm with you. I think a really fancy overpriced high-hustle joint could easily qualify for the worst club list. I don't happen to know of any because I don't frequent places like that, but I'm sure there are some. But I wouldn't call such a place a gc, the absence of high hustle is a major characteristic of a true gentlemen's club by my definition. At GGC there's virtually no hustle whatever - girls will circulate and ask if you want company but they're very polite about it and will immediately move on if you say no.

PA is like that now, you have to choose between nude and alcohol. It's no big deal, it just results in more variety. Most of Maryland is like that too.

I also remember running into fashion shows in upscale restaurants in the South (Atlanta or maybe Florida?) but that was well over 25 years ago. I used to hang out fairly regularly in an upscale cocktail lounge in DC where all the barmaids and waitresses wore skimpy nighties with nothing underneath. Very pleasant way to relax.

Chandler, I didn't say that I liked Gentlemen's Gold Club, I just said that it's my idea of a true gentlemen's club. I don't like the place very much because it's too expensive, although it's not a bad place to stop by for a drink. In addition GGC has the same problem that all Baltimore clubs have - there are too many clubs in the area for the size of the city, and as a result none of them can draw enough attractive dancers, so dancer quality is always uneven.
My idea of a GC is a place that has the atmosphere of an exclusive private club. That includes a high level of amenities (eg. a choice of different fancy VIP rooms and a full bar with good brands and a bartender who knows what she's doing - GCs sell mostly mixed drinks not beer), a very nice physical plant, and customers are treated with the utmost courtesy (I've never seen bouncers anywhere who are as courteous as those at GGC. Or dancers and bartenders either for that matter.) A GC doesn't have to be large (eg. I consider Nepals to be a GC) although most of them are. And it doesn't have to be expensive athough again most of them are - they generally need to be to pay for the plush surroundings.
I don't know of many such places anywhere, and I don't know of any that are near an airport although there probably are a few. Most of the places that consider themselves to be GCs may have fancy decor but lack the courteous private-club atmosphere. I consider such places to be GC-wannabes. And there are loads of those around. They're the places I avoid - places with GC prices but not the GC environment.

ShotDisc, if you aren't willing to drive through major snowstorms, stay out of upstate NY from Sept. to May. That's what I do.

Casualguy, in some clubs the private rooms don't cost much extra. For example, at Playhouse Lounge in NJ you can get an LD out in the open for $20 a song, or in a private room for $30. And some places like BBF the cost per song in the VIP room is actually less than buying individual dances out in the open because you're paying by the half hour instead of by the song. You don't always have to pay hundreds of dollars extra for a VIP or private room.

I've only actually had the experience with one dancer. I had a semi-fave for a short time who was a single mom, no BF (she said she didn't want one), who frequently talked about her little boy. I enjoyed it because it helped me to get to know her a little better and she was a very nice person. It was also something she obviously enjoyed talking about which made us both more relaxed. I'd rather have a girl talk about something that really interests her than sit like a bump on a log and expect me to carry the entire conversation the way so many of them do. That's what I find most annoying.

Arbeeguy, one easy way to tell if you have someone on "ignore" - look at the discussion board without loggin in, which I occasionally do accidently, and if you see topics that aren't there when you are logged in, then you have the person who started that topic on "ignore."

Large, I forgot about Playhouse Lounge, I've been there and they do indeed have little private rooms. Don't know about the cameras though. That's pretty rare in the Northeast, I guess it must be a regional thing.

Forgot, I do have one on my list: Player's Club (aka Wagon Wheel) in Baltimore. I've driven by it a thousand time and never stopped because (a) they're only open at night and when I'm in that area it's usually daytime, and (b) it's a membership club and I think the annual membership fee is something like $30. But it is THE LD factory in the Baltimore area, it has the reputation for the best looking girls and the most contact in the state. And once you get inside it's fairly reasonably priced. Someday ...

Correction - White Manor (above) should read White Haven. White Manor is a hotel near White Haven. There may also be a town by that name, not sure and I'm too lazy to look it up.

OMG how did I ever Adult World in Harrisburg? The only place worse was the place right next door, which isn't on the list and hopefully no longer exists.

I agree with Chandler, girls who have just started haven't learned the rules about keeping dancer and private lives separate, that's why I prefer girls like that. It's how I became friends with my ATF, I met her the first week she ever danced and as a result she always treated me more like a personal friend than like a customer. There's as much of a learning curve for dancers as there is for customers.

The airports I'm most familiar with -
Philadelphia has a couple strip clubs nearby but none of them would meet anyone's definition of a Gentlemen's Club, they're small and pretty downscale (but not bad).
BWI (Baltimore) - no strip clubs nearby.
Dulles (Washington) - the closest strip club is an hour away.
Reagan (Washington) - only one club nearby and it's a small neighborhood bar-type place.
New York - 3 major airports, no strip clubs near any of them that I know of.
Tampa - several strip clubs nearby but primarily because the airport is downtown and so are the clubs, and I wouldn't call any of them GCs, not even close.
Boston - no strip clubs nearby, no GCs anywhere in the city, or state for that matter.
Providence - no strip clubs nearby, they're mostly downtown, a good half hour away.
I guess I'd have to agree with Shadowcat.
Chandler, let me describe Gentlemn's Gold Club in Baltimore, which is the GC I'm most familiar with. From the outside it looks like an ultra-fancy restaurant and is brightly lit, you can see it from a mile away. You pull under the protico at the entrance and a parking attendant takes your car and the doorman opens the door for you. Or if you're in a downtown hotel, they will send a limo for you if you call (unlike most GCs, GGC isn't downtown.) You walk into the large reception area and there's a counter where you can purchase souvenirs (glasswear, T-shirts, photos) and expensive cigars. You then pay an admission fee and enter the club through a turnstile and metal detector. And you can go into the main club to the left or the private party room to the right. If you go into the main room, there are two large plush full bars connected by a long large stage, the entrance to the stage is a long fancy staircase leading down from the upstairs dressing room. The area between the two bars and on either side of the stage (which is more like a runway) is full of plush easy chairs and little cocktail tables, including several more private elevated areas along the walls and in the corners. There will be about 20-40 dancers there, depending on the time of day, most of whom are pretty attractive including several knockouts, and except when onstage, the dancers are all in long gowns. There's a private walled in LD area in one corner, plus 3 different large VIP rooms with different decor, different degrees of privacy and different price levels, and a fourth room for private shower shows. There's a full kitchen that's always open. There's a dj booth elevated above the larger bar. There are about 40 dancers and maybe half a dozen well-dressed bouncers, all of whom look like ex-college football players. And there are attendants in the mens' room, which is probably the cleanest and fanciest men's room I've ever seen. The whole place, inside and out, is extremely fancy and it's huge. And it's also expensive - the girl I used to hang with had a customer who gave her $1,000 every time he came in. It's the kind of place where you expect to see professional athletes hanging out. And they have regular features including the annual Miss Nude Baltimore contest, first prize $5,000. They also have a fancy van that they use to take some of the dancers to special outside events like Ravens games. And they have a fancy web site that includes lots of photos, an active message board, girls' schedules and more (http://www.gentlemensgoldclubgirls.com). That's my idea of a true gentlemen's club. And I don't know of many other places that are remotely like it.

There's nothing worse than being in a southern city with an inch or two of snow on the ground. I was in Washington, DC, once when it snowed about 2 inches and the whole city shut down. I hailed a cab and the Arab driving it got stuck in the hotel's driveway. I finally got out and hailed another one, and didn't stop laughing the whole way to my destination. I won't drive in the South when it snows, the other drivers are too dangerous. And I won't drive in an ice storm.
Which reminds me of another curious experience. I was driving through southern Virginia early one morning following a night of freezing rain, and the highway was littered with vehicles that had spun off the road out of control - there must have been dozens of them. And here's the funny part - virtually every one of them was a 4-wheel drive vehicle.

But then how do we know? The 22 yo is probably pretty honest about her age, but I doubt if the 31 yo is.
And I'm glad we don't have spellcheck here, some of the misspellings are downright funny (mine included.) Braincheck would be a help though.

I think whether the guy has a gambling problem or not is irrelevant, he definately has a problem of some kind. If we excused everyone who has a problem, we'd be excusing everyone who does something illegal, there's always a reason why the guy did it. I would try to forgive the guy in my heart but I'm not sure I'd want to plead for a lenient sentence, those are two very different things.
We don't just send people to jail to punish them, a large part of the purpose of jail is to discourage others from doing something similar. And as a general rule I think we're much too lenient with white-collar criminals. Frankly I have a lot more sympathy for a criminal who is poor and uneducated than I do for one who is fairly well off. And yet the poor almost always receive longer sentences for far lesser offences.

I like smaller dancers but 90 pounds is a little too small, I'd feel like I was with a 12 year old. I only ever recall one time with a dancer who was about that size - she curled up on my lap in BBF's VIP and fell asleep - it was kinda fun. I'd describe my perfect dancer as 5 foot 3 inches, 120 pounds, although my ATF is slightly bigger than that in both dimensions. So I guess she wouldn't qualify even though she's pretty small.

The only weather that affects my plans would be a heavy snowstorm. Which reminds me of a funny story - many years ago I had a business trip to Chicago in the middle of winter. We landed in a raging snow storm, one of the last flights to land before the airport closed. I made it to my hotel, which turned out to be 1/2 block from the Playboy Club. The city was shut down for 2 days and all my meetings were cancelled. I spent the time at the Playboy Club and had a great time, it was like a big continuous party because nobody could go anywhere. Two days later I was able to make it back to the airport, which had been closed the entire time and was crowded with people who had been there throughtout the storm. My flight left on time and was one of the first to leave after the airport reopened. Now that's my idea of a business trip.
I've been in a strip club when a storm came through and they lost power. Unfortunately the emergency lights were brighter than their normal lighting, which ruined all the fun.
