@Red don't take this wrong as I've met you and know you do this cause you can and have compassion for their circumstances but this is an example of how over paying can come back to bite you in the ass. So any new mongers making the trek to tj let this be an example of how over paying not only drives up the prices for the rest of us cheap fuckers but can make you a target from the Masero's and management to shake down for extra money any chance they can.

@Red it's got to be they know you and the $ you spend. It's unfortunate that they have you targeted in this way. That's actually one of the better taco stands in TJ from what I've read online and had myself. I too walked around quite a bit with a buddy my 1st time and never felt uneasy. Downtown SD waiting for blue line was more sketchy than in TJ.

@havenfan if you decide to take a girl up for arriba you can rent a room for under $20 but will be on a time limit. I have a feeling once you get there and acclimated to HK your going to find a girl your going to want to spend some quality time with. Aa far as the border it's not as intimidating as it seems reading on here. Go check out HKclub on Instagram or FB as they have videos showing you the whole process for getting across, finding the shuttle and arriving at HK.

I had the same experience there last week. Pushy maseros & girls for fichkas etc. Quality of girls was pretty disappointing for my taste.

*Update* finally recovered from my 1st trip to HK & TJ. Article forthcoming but just wanted to say thanks to the Tusclers that reached out and that I met up with on this trip. Had a blast and will definitely be back soon. bsmitty was a great tour guide! Still blown away by the experience.

@bdunning if your just getting sober again after a relapse tj might not be the best place for yea and your sobriety, unless your still getting loaded then it's a great place..lol
