Countryman, I love Mexico and the chicas as much as you do. Maybe more. Honestly, I could give a shit what anybody else says about it. Everybody is entitled to their opinions. People talking shit about Mexico, Tijuana, and the beautiful women that make me happy doesn't bother me one bit. It doesn't lessen my enjoyment south of the border.
My dos centavos advice: don't let it bother you. Who cares what other people think? As long as you are happy, that's all that matters. Cristobal, I've only been to a few of those events. I usually try to avoid them because I don't like the big crowds. Occasionally they are okay, just for a change of pace, but I prefer a regular HK night over an event night.
Last night I checked out the Avengers theme party at Chicago Club to use a free beer coupon I had. It was kind of silly. After that had one beer in Tropical and was planning to go to bed early. Then, decided to do just a quick walkthrough in Hong Kong before bed. Well, that didn't happen. Next thing I know they are pulling me on stage and pouring tequila and beer down my throat. Then, about 20 minutes later, they pulled me on stage again for a body shot contest which I failed miserably at. I was muy borracho. I'm afraid to see the video of the fiesta when I return to Cascadas. I fear my political aspirations have been ruined. :)

I think they've been wearing hats for a long time. Back in the 2000's when Tiger was dominant, he was one of the few guys that would lift weights, do cardio, etc. Since then, many have followed that example and you see a lot of fit/athletic pro golfers now. It's not like in the past when there were guys with pot bellies on the Sunday leaderboard.

When I first started going a couple of years ago, a two day planned trip turned into a 7 night bender. After a week, I finally dragged myself back to the U.S.
Since then, I've done several one week trips. At one point, I was living with a bar girl and stayed there for 30 to 60 days straight, only returning to the U.S. for a few hours as necessary.
The past six months, I've been spending more and more time in Tijuana. As I've discovered the many great things TJ has to offer, away from Zona Norte, I've found myself very content living south of the border. I basically live here full time now, splitting time between Cascadas, nice hotels and condos outside of Zona Norte, Ensenada, and the occasional trip to San Diego, Los Angeles, or vacations elsewhere in the U.S. or Mexico. Life is good on the fun side of the wall.

Tijuana has changed a lot and continues to change. New luxury hotels and high rise condos have been opening in recent years and many more are currently under construction. The culinary scene here is thriving. Gourmet restaurants for every cuisine imaginable are all over and doing brisk business from wealthy Mexicans, wealthy Americans, and other international travelers. Gastroparks and hipster cafes and bars and breweries are everywhere too.
HK, Cascadas. Adelitas, Tropical, Rizo, and Chicago Club are all nice, but the area surrounding them is pretty crappy.
To see the best of Tijuana, outside of HK, you need to get out of Zona Norte and go explore the nicer areas of TJ.
I've met many well to do Americans, including a few this past week who are impressed with how much TJ has evolved. All three were seriously looking at the new high rise condos and considering selling their houses in the U.S. to move here.
I ate at an excellent Brazilian steakhouse here recently. Absolutely delicious. It would cost you over $50 in the U.S. Here, it cost under $20 including drink and tip.
I respect Shadow and his opinions, but I think he probably hasn't been here in a long time or seen the transformation of Tijuana.

I'm not sure if it's a private party. It was closed off yesterday, but I went in there. There were construction workers and they were doing some sort of construction in there. My chica, mesero, and I were a little persistent and they let me into one of the lapdance rooms reluctantly. We could hear the construction going on, but we played music on our phones for the dance. It might have been construction for the private event, but it looked like some kind of small remodeling to me.
