Quick story. 6 months ago I arriba one of the more popular HK chicas. She leaves about 30 or 40 minutes later and I shower. 20 minutes later a mesero is banging on my door looking for the chica. I tell him she left 20 minutes ago and he leaves.
5 minutes later he's banging on my door even harder looking for the girl. They can't find her. I tell him she left a while ago and probably went on break or something. He's not having it and won't leave until I open my door and let him search my room. I open the door, he sees she's not there, and he leaves.
The bar manager went looking for this girl the minute the hour mark hit and was relentless until he had her back on the floor selling drinks.
SJG, out of the zona is good, but no matter where it is, getting her when she is off the clock is best. When she's not working and it's her off day, it's a lot more relaxed for both of you. As for TLN, it's unlikely but possible when you first meet a chica. However, whether it's possible or not, I won't do it right away. I like to know them for a long while before I trust them enough to fall asleep while they are in my room.

From my experience over the years, it seems as though the bar managers are super aware of the chicas that sell the most fichas and therefore make the bar the most money. Because of this, a popular chica that sells a lot of fichas is tracked very closely. If she's gone an hour, the manager will send a mesero to the hotel to bring her back or to make the customer buy a bucket.
They want their top earners on the floor selling fichas and making the bar money.
Chicas that don't sell a lot of fichas and don't make a ton of money for the bar are less likely to be bothered if they are gone for more than an hour.
If the bar has 100 or more girls working, the managers can't keep mental track of all of them, but if one of their superstars is missing for too long, they are on top of it right away.
There's also the possibility of an enterprising mesero checking on the girl after an hour on his own, without management intervening, just because he sees it as a way to make an extra buck.
Like all things in TJ, YMMV. What happens one day is no guarantee it will happen again the next. Best to hope for the best and prepare for the worst, so you make the best of it and don't let it ruin your experience. It sounds like you already have that perspective Cristobal, which is a good thing.

25 spot on. Cops love targeting U.S. plates down here and shaking down the drivers for B.S. traffic violations. Especially in Zona Norte. They'll search you and try to find pot or a vape pen or anything else to shake you down for even more of a bribe. Best bet is to park on the U.S. side, cross on foot, and take Uber to everywhere you want to go. Uber is super cheap in TJ and you don't have to worry about crooked cops or Mexican liability insurance.

I have a friend that wound up eating dinner next to Donald Jr. and a couple of his friends the other night. After about an hour and a few drinks, he heard him say with a big grin on his face that the world is finally beginning to realize that he's not the dumbest Donald in the Trump family after all. His friends burst out in laughter and they all toasted before taking a long swig from their drinks.

The Super Bowl halftime show performers don't pay to perform.
They get paid "scale", which is basically nothing. They forego their usual large appearance fees for the honor of performing and the free exposure and publicity, but they don't pay anyone to perform.

Wait times to return to the U.S. are longest on weekends and weekday mornings. Weekday mornings there is a rush hour commute when everyone is crossing to go to work or school in the U.S.
If you can cross back to the U.S. on a weekday afternoon or evening you'll have very little or no wait at all as a pedestrian.
