Why would anyone bother telling someone that they're not hot? Even if someone did post something like that on her page she'd probably block them and the post would disappear. If she's a sb then she's a 300ppm at most. If she's a dancer I might get some dances because I kind of like her look but I wouldn't choose her ahead of other's I've already had dances from.

WW1, WW2, and the Cold War were things which pretty much brought people together. A common goal and common enemy that most agreed on. Sure there was Vietnam but most were against communism and authoritarianism. 30 years on from winning the cold war and we now have communists (disguised as democrats) as mayors of large cities.
Initially the Floyd incident brought people together against police brutality. It was universally condemned. But that has quickly turned in to a huge divide as politicians have let leftist agitators destroy cities and proclaim all white people (alive or dead) as racists and white supremacists. Free speech and free thought are being destroyed.

Nice plus money usually works. If that doesn't work (low mileage) it's easy enough to disengage and find a dancer where it does.
My experience has mostly been that the dancer's attitude is that they are there to please and don't mind taking directions and giving me they type of dance I want. I go slow, communicate and they let me know how far I can go.

ABC- 20 shows
177 main characters
50 black characters (28%)
3 shows the stars or co-stars were black (15%)
6 shows at least 50% of cast was black
10 shows with at least 3 black characters
CBS - 26 shows
192 main characters
42 black main characters (21%)
7 shows the stars or co-stars were black (26%)
4 shows at least 50% characters black
6 shows had at least 3 black characters
I don't know if this means that blacks are under or over-represented (or just right) but i think definitely not hugely under-represented.

Hey, you are right about Culture Club and I'm right about Madonna. I had just turned a teenager at the time and never was in to MTV that much or pop music - I like hard rock. I had to look this stuff up. The only videos and songs I remember from those two are Karma Chameleon and Like a Virgin. That's why I thought Culture Club came after Jackson because that song did, but like you said they had another album a year before that one. I always thought Like a Virgin was Madonna's first big song.
I think you're going to be wrong though about blacks still being under represented on TV now.

Daddilac is pretty accurate but BET didn't become a full time channel until July 1983. MTV had started playing Michael Jackson's videos a few months prior. Culture Club and Madonna didn't become popular on MTV until after they had already started playing Michael Jackson. I also wouldn't consider any of them r&b.
The real reason MTV didn't play black artists at the beginning is because they were mostly a rock oriented station. When Michael Jackson had his big videos they realized there was way more money in pop than album rock and they switched formats.

Don't attend or watch pro sports events and let the owners and broadcasters know why. Pro sports should be boycotted. Their ratings and attendance did take a hit the last time this happened and I think a lot of people are quietly going find other things to do.
