make eye contact with the girls walking by and smile. if a guy makes eye contact with me I'll stop and speak to him. a lot times its just really awkward when two guys are talking and the dancer tries to say hi..

Living well and enjoying my retirement
for whatever reason i've seen it in the club time and time again. the patron would rather get a dance with an obvious druggie (i.e. brown teeth, sallow skin, nodding out with a cig in hand) than get one with a pretty healthy dancer....baffles me everytime

this happens in all hospitality related industries. I'm talking restaurants, bars, married manager or not, you spend more time around hot younger girls than your wife, girls who like a man in power it will happen. Then add to it the girls are naked a majority of the time, how can it not happen. I've learned from restaurant experience not to engage in acts with managers or even other lower level co workers because it only creates drama. But in a strip club it can really hurt the girl more so than the manager. because next thing you know he's moved on to the next girl and he's taking the old girls regulars to his new favorite...

Agreed, I just wish they'd have some decent girls. Being a small club doesn't mean you need to hire just anybody. the dancers just seemed....cheap. which ruins any renovations they did.

The only people who disagree with a higher cover charge or the cheapos who only go in to watch anyway and see if someone will bone them for 20 bucks. They're the guys who go to Vegas or West Palm and get a rude awakening when a girl says its 3k for a vip room. Ha its amazing the way guys will treat you in one state, like you're not good enough for them and then you go to another state and a guy comes buys a dance and tips you what 4 dances are worth. Its about the culture. If its a place where lots of wealthy people live, even if you're not wealthy you will go in and feel like you need to spend to fit in. if its a working blue collar town, you will comfortable being tight with a dollar because everyone else is also as cheap. I mean I've broken my foot 3 times working that pole and will get down and see $2 on stage. then someone from out of town will come in and throw 300 in ones on stage and you just see all the locals get super uncomfortable.

Dancer opinion: Customers don't spend money like they use to. Attractive girls eventually leave after not making anything. I've danced in 3 different states. Money in one state was consistently $300-$1200 per night. Current state is $60/night on average. $200 if I'm really lucky. Then add in the investment of shoes, outfits, hair/makeup and its just not worth it. I wasn't ready to stop dancing, but as long as i'm living "up north" i'm done. After a while you realize you can make more waiting tables which is less physical wear and tear, doesn't require buying outfits and shoes and makeup, and doesn't require paying dj, house mom, club, or security fees. And so what the customers end up being left is bottom of the barrel. If girls hear they can make money somewhere they will go. but customers just aren't spending like they used to. At least not up north

@Juslovin you are 100% correct. I have met people that I didn't even know weren't interested in my "type" and will say after speaking with me, you are so different than what I expected. I've noticed when i ignore #2 and #3 and just act like its a no brainer to go with me I do better. Insecurity isn't cute on anyone!

The girl wrote an article don't be mean to her, while yes this may be a mostly customer website it is TUSCL not the TUSCL-for customers only. I will say as a dancer I made bank in the beginning, its when its slow and you're not making money that your mental toughness has to come into play. Beware of burn out. I haven't worked in 2 months because of it. Also, theres a reason why most dancers end up dating the bouncers in the club, regular guys just can't handle it, too jealous.

Ok its really annoying when you guys have this mentality that black dancers can only work in Atlanta or in these hood clubs. I have NEVER danced in Atlanta or a 'black club'. I've made my most in Florida and South Carolina. I have no "hood" in me. I'm not "thick" enough for a black club and I"ve danced in SEVERAL states and made crazy good money. Its this particular region/ state that the guys are cheap because its not just me. Girls I'm working with are starting to feel it now too. I"m talking selling only one dance a night! These guys always say, "I just came in to watch the show and have a beer and then i'm leaving in 45 minutes." If the white girls can only sell one dance a night then I'm definitely not selling one.
I wanna know why guys think its ok to buy a $3 beer, tell me that you like the girl on stage, and when I recommend you go show her some love you say no. Think about it, the club charges each dancer a minimum of about $60. If you have 21 girls working in a Tuesday night and NO ONE makes it our club won't make us pay it, but they're gonna come up with the difference somewhere. I don't know this for a fact but I would say food and alcohol would get more expensive. Furthermore we're all getting jobs doing other things, clubs get empty, dancers stop dancing, your left with ugly crackheads that smell like b.o.

@oldlion888 I am not ghetto. at all! private school, college educated, only black girl in my entire neighborhood growing up. i'm the opposite of ghetto. it seems like thats what is actually working against me tho. The smart girl is usually not the girl thats gonna give you a $20 bj so they avoid me because unfortunately the town i dance in now is a very cheap town compared to previous areas I've danced. I've danced in the whitest most southern places you can think of and made bank. This is a more "northern" area and I don't do as well as the girls who are obviously on stuff.....sad reality. I've started "dumb" myself down, and not look as nice, less diamonds, less class, seems to be what sells here i guess.

Haha this was great! but i will say I do tend to avoid speaking to a guy if a girl is already there. If he's a somewhat regular than oh well too bad for her I'll say hi. If not I might say hi or give him a look just letting him know "yes i'm here and yes I see you but your....busy". Scanning id's...i believe is so they know they're real? (i have no idea).
Tell the ugly girl your waiting for someone! I actually sometimes "ask" someone if they are kind of giving them an out to low-key say they're not interested in me. If they say no they're not then I know that they are interested.

Game recognize game man, game recognize game.
Honestly I love that you wrote this in partial response to my article. What I've found in the club is even if i'm bored out of my mind (i.e. its slow and every custy in there is already "attended" to) I'll dance around to the music just looking like i'm having the best time ever. I'll go talk to a bouncer if theres no customers available, or go to the dressing room and change. For some reason CHANGING MY OUTFIT doesn't matter what outfit it is (gets sexier as the night goes) seems to always turn it around for me. I wonder why....

You guys are all right lol. The whole time I'm working up the nerve to talk to someone I already know the worst thing they can say is no. Its not a big deal yet we all still dilly dally lol. Its easy for me to tell a girl "Theres so much opportunity just do it! go talk to that guy or that guy or that guy" but when it comes to myself... it can be quite nerve racking! but once you get on a roll or when the club is packed its not as big of a deal. when its slow is when i get the most nervous because in that case EVERY conversation could be THE ONE

Pontiacguy- that was burnout talking. I could take that article down I would. I was overworked and just grumpy. I've realized when I feel like that whether I want to or not I need to take a week or 2 off or travel.
To everyone else great suggestions and papi ur right I'm not "black enough" for black clubs and black men typically don't go for me. Let's just say they've nicknamed me ores at my club. I've always danced in upscale mostly white clubs and im not the only black girl in my club but I am the darkest.
In my experience I've always done better in the south believe it or not. I've found men usually want the opposite of what they have at home so white men in the south love me. I'm currently dancing up north and it's still the same just not as frequent. I will definitely try to bring the heat I bring in my dances to the main floor too

Honestly, you should have done a bit more research HOWEVER sometimes the internet isn't so helpful in your search. I often search the clubs hashtag on ig to see what the dancers look like to try and gauge if i'll fit in. The being said you did the right thing to run out of that club. However, the VIP was $65.... i've traveled quite a few places and even the smallest clubs had their vip set at $250 minimum....if I were you I'd look for a club more up to your level (as you mentioned you looked cleaner and more attractive than the girls working there)

Honestly you guys don't get it. In my original post I said milder fetishes are weird but I don't screw the guy over. Like someone e mentioned it's all how u set it up. If we go in vip and u never even once hinted u wanted dex that's not fair that a bait and switch on me. If your nice I'll politely decline and compensate some other way. If your rude and demanding I'll be rude and demanding. I match the behavior it's not my job to just take crap from people. U can find another dancer and I can find another custy. No lie I have this old man his money back because he was nice but wrongly assumed vip was for sex. U guys hijacked this article and turned it into something weird

I've heard some horror stories. I've danced for a few years but nothing that bad has happened as far as getting hit. I often use the "i have to pee excuse" and get up and leave. Or sometimes i just calmly say hold on, and just walk away lolol.
I've been fortunate enough that I've never had to audition before but man i wish strip clubs offered stripper training. I've been paying a civilian pole dance teacher to teach me tricks because of course girls are trying to hustle not teach you their tricks.

This post was just to talk about some of the funny things that happen during dances and ya'll turned it into this angry dark post because you don't like hearing a dancer won't just let you have your way. Any girl that will do extras for $ she could make anyway I would be weary of....and get tested.
Again you guys are getting defensive because you're probably the guys going to the strip club looking for hookers. Just because this is my first post does not mean this is my first club. I've danced on the east, west, north and south geographic areas of this country. At some point you stop feeling sad about men being mean and decide to get even. Thats just a way of getting even. If a guy is NICE and still doesn't listen AS I MENTIONED IN MY OP, I get up and leave. If he is a rude ass douche page that thinks $20 is going to make me suck his dick then yeah I'll take him for all he's got and still not suck his dick. The nice guys get respectfully declined. DOUCHEBAGS GET TREATED LIKE DOUCHEBAGS. Its that simple.
The security at my club is insanely on point, and works to route (spelling?) out those girls and I'll be damned if I'm getting fired because you pulled it out just at the time security pops their head in and it makes me look like I'm at fault. (Which would never happen because they know I keep it classy.) FURTHERMORE my club has not only cameras but audio in our rooms so good luck.
At a gentleman's club act like a gentleman. At a strip club, expect a girl to strip not perform sex acts.
I tell them I'm very liberal with touching just ask first i.e. no inserting anything, I'll grind, I may even touch you if its ok with you. But I just do not and will not do extras and i can almost guarantee 90% of my co-workers don't either and we're the nicest club in town for that reason. And that means I have issues? Ok then, so I have issues. ha!

I think what you guys are missing is the part where I said most guys are nice and will stop when I say stop. I approach everyone with honesty. I ALWAYS STATE CLEARLY WHAT I DO AND DON'T DO BEFORE I GO INTO A CR. But if I've given u 4 or 5 warnings that you are making me feel violated then why shouldn't I take your money? I have never extorted a respectful guy even when he's pulled his Penis out. But if you are rude and degrading to me and You seem to think you can help yourself to my body even though I've asked you nicely to stop pulling ur dick out or to let go of me then you deserve to get screwed over.
Ur about to get thrown out anyway . I was always kind till a guy tried to rape me even tho BEFORE we went to CR i told him no sex. SO I think guys like that deserve to have their wallets raped. It's a lot less damaging in my opinion. No means no. Don't want to get played listen the first 60 times I told them.
