Advice to the New Stripper or Auditioning Dancer

What do I need to audition?

You need your ID, makeup, and few outfits (usually bra, thong and boy short type panties or shorts). You may need pasties depending on where the strip club is. Have a few songs in mind that you feel comfortable stripping to.

How do I make it though the audition?

Just do it. Each answer is different for each dancer. I had a drink and just made it happen. I was scared but just looked at it as stages and next thing I knew I was wearing heels and a smile. Most managers don't care if you can't dance. They only care if you can take off your clothes. It's a nerve test, nothing more.

Will I be expected to break the rules?

I can say all girls break the rules to some extent. Some allow touching when it shouldn't be and others are full out banging dudes. That is a life choice but understand the consequences of what you decide.

Are customers mean?

Yes and no. Some are great and some are assholes. I've been hit by customers, cussed at, and spit on. Guys get hard and sometimes they pull it out and if you're not OK with that then back out and get his ass tossed. One of the worst ones was getting burnt with a cigarette while working.

Will it change me?

Simple answer: yes. I hate to generalize, but most all of us strippers are loud. We cuss a lot. We have very little formality. But that doesn't mean that you will or everyone will. It's how you handle yourself in your environment. Easier answer is if you change it because you wanted to.

What about my man?

Leave him at home. Drive yourself and don't mention him. You're selling your body; maybe not fully but at least visually you are. This makes you hot, naked, and in the same room as a guy. Last thing they want to find out is that you're married or have a boyfriend. He needs to know that you're acting single for however long you're at work for it to work.

What do I need to keep up my body?

I had a great DJ friend at an old club always say to me that he could always tell the stripper in the room no matter where he was at. The reason he said was because it was the hottest girl in the room that he actually thought he may have a chance to fuck. The way you act needs to correlate with how you look. My routine. Tan, workout occasionally, eat well all the time. Hair, nails, make up must be done and prior to going into the club. Teeth clean, smelling clean. Be ready to go when you get to work so all you have to do is change and get to making money. And most of all importance you have to be shaven everywhere with one exception. Your ho ha can be trimmed if that's what your customers prefer. Again an issue with boyfriends. "Sorry Hun, cant shave. Jim the big tipper guy likes it like this." Probably not going to go well.

What's one thing you didn't think you needed to know that you did?

Know how to talk sex. Not only know how but don't be afraid to. You're going to get asked sexual questions. You're going to get asked questions from people you never thought would ask and if you want to make money you better keep the conversation going as much as possible.

Hope this helps some of the new girls on here. If any girl is getting into dancing or is new and needs advice or anything send me a message and I'll be more than happy to help.

Good article. What % of customers are assholes? What % of customers ask for p4p OTC?

I would say it depends on the night but most of the time its usually 70 nice 30 assholes. I got hit a few times but mostly because of people wanting more then a dance. I had a drunk guy spit on me while on stage. Most every girl that has ever danced for a while has these things happen. I think its a mix of people being assholes and people being drunk, Plus as people drink and buy dances we as dancers give the impression that we are just waiting to get off and come over and have sex even if we aren't. so they get handsy and when they get turned down they lash out. So its def. a combo of things.

only thing I can think of that ever happened with me was a guy with his wife (this guy was an ass and I didn't like him to begin) in a doubles with a another dancer was getting handsy. He was asked several times by the only staff person we had at the time (who wasn't really a bouncer but acting as one. To keep his hands down) This guy was into some kinky stuff which sure I'm cool with kinky but I am not comfortable with kinky shit from people I don't know especially when they didn't ask me if they could do something first. He placed his hands around my throat but didn't squeeze but it was enough that I wasn't comfortable with him and kept a good mind to keep my feet where I could kick him in the nutz and break his hold real fast if needed. Cause frankly the guy being the bouncer was a marshmallow compared to that guy. ( It was a time I was happy to know self defense, a bit of muy tai, and kick boxing. ) Luckily it was just awkward and a tense uncomfortable dance and nothing bad happened.

I have had some sleezy disgusting comments and guys try to touch where they were not allowed to. I almost broke some guys fingers once for wiping a dollar bill on my pussy while I was on stage. Him and his fellow friends were being assholes and kept trying to touch while I was on stage. Lucky for him the bouncer finally stepped in before I had it my way. (I was not in a good mood that night, usually I'm not so violent but I was not putting up with peoples shit that day. I don't like people doing stuff without my ok.)

"Last thing they want to find out is that you're married or have a boyfriend."

This is the killjoy type of dancer, who has a need to keep it so real by letting the custie know up front that he doesn't have a chance in hell of ever being considered as more than a lowly PL. It is a safety gambit to keep a guy in line, but in the process kills the seduction fantasy.

That's the way I feel about it anyways.

you let people hit you. I would have been fired for hitting back. Your crazy if you just let hitting and spitting become a fact of life.

I've heard some horror stories. I've danced for a few years but nothing that bad has happened as far as getting hit. I often use the "i have to pee excuse" and get up and leave. Or sometimes i just calmly say hold on, and just walk away lolol.

I've been fortunate enough that I've never had to audition before but man i wish strip clubs offered stripper training. I've been paying a civilian pole dance teacher to teach me tricks because of course girls are trying to hustle not teach you their tricks.

My home club has been offering training to the dancers on Sunday afternoons. Most like it and welcome it, according to them. I few are annoyed because it is uncompensated time. It is mostly pole dancing instruction but they also appear to have better convo, selling/closing tactics, and better LD moves now. So it appears to be a positive change!

The advice at the top is very good. She makes one point that is rarely made: talking about sex! Exactly. Sex-talk is one of the things that turns me on and, I find, turns on a lot of girls, too. Talk horny, girls!

Yeah I've never been hit or spit on and if I did, I would fight back. That's not normal and not OK to do that to a girl just because she's a stripper... Idk what kind of club would allow that behavior.

I'll also add to the first question of what you need to audition: the best way to know is to call the club first. I've danced at many clubs where you just need ID. There are some clubs (like Deja Vu chains) that need and ID + social security card. At my club, to audition you need your ID and a dance license.

Clubs have different dress codes, so it's also best to ask about that when you call inquiring about auditions.

good post. and I find it totally unacceptable that anyone could abuse any stripper. I can see pushing the envelope in a good/ fun way... butt not to abuse.
