Dogs
"Pit bulls, along with lions, poisonous snakes, hippos (yes they kill people too) should all be banned from domestic situations." Yeah, I am so sick of hearing about infants being stomped to death by the pet hippopotamus the family kept in the bathroom. When will people realize you just can't domesticate a hippo. (Damn, that must be some good weed you're smoking.) Look, during my lifetime I have seen different breeds get the "needs to be banned" treatment. In the 1960's it was German Shepards will turn on you. In the 1970's Doberman Pinschers would eat their owners if they nicked themselves shaving. In the 1980's it was the vicious Chow-Chows and Shar-peis. The last 20 years it has been the bully breeds. America's nanny dogs. Bigger dogs have bigger bites and do more damage, but no breed is inherently mean or dangerous. (Except maybe chihuahuas.)

Dogs
If you state pitties should be banned, your opinion is based on ignorance. I have had American Pitbull terriers and Staffordshire terriers all my life. They are wonderful dogs. Like all dogs, they should be train for basic skills and most importantly socialized, but you won't find sweeter, goofier, love sponges than pitties. Look at any old photos of Americana, there is a nanny dog on the porch. It is some variation of a Pitbull. As a kid, I would watch old reruns of Our Gang and Little Rascals. Guess what, Petey was a pittie. Instead of banning dog breeds, how about we just jail assholes that take sweet puppies and turn them into aggressive dogs. Lets also jail assholes that chain social loving animals outside until they go mad from loneliness and neglect. Let's ban the Michael Vicks of the world, not any specific dog breed.

Way OT
I would say C, even though I haven't been on a horse in 40 years. When I was in my midteens, all the rich girls had horses. If you went with one of them for a ride, somewhere along the trail they were probably going to be riding you. Needless to say, I rode horses with them as often as I could. I never really cared about having a horse. Too much work and I always kinda thought of it as a chick thing. I worked my ass off for a year saving up and bought a used 1973 combat wombat. I much preferred dirt bikes. When I got banged up on a dirt bike it was because I did something stupid, not because the horse did something stupid.

Good luck getting a Florida homeowner' insurance policy with a $500 deductible. Most are written with 2% or 5% deductibles. The wealthy can afford the rebuild. The poor will be subsidized. It's the middle class that will get hammered. Grandma's mobile home with no insurance. The people who bought a $285k home in a beach town 25 years ago that is now worth $750k. They are $15 - $37 thousand dollars out of pocket before insurance pays penny one.

Hello police? I'd like to report a crime. Some guy on a message board threatened to kick my ass. Dispatcher: what is this person's name? I don't know it's an anonymous message board. Dispatcher: he threatened to assault you? Well he threatened to assault my username. Dispatcher: so he doesn't actually know who you are? No. Dispatcher: okay we will serve him in February.

How the Autism - Asperger's - Neurodivergence Hoax still rages on
ABIDE - Autism Brain Imaging Data Exchange Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is characterized by qualitative impairment in social reciprocity, and by repetitive, restricted, and stereotyped behaviors/interests. Previously considered rare, ASD is now recognized to occur in more than 1% of children. Despite continuing research advances, their pace and clinical impact have not kept up with the urgency to identify ways of determining the diagnosis at earlier ages, selecting optimal treatments, and predicting outcomes. For the most part this is due to the complexity and heterogeneity of ASD. To face these challenges, large-scale samples are essential, but single laboratories cannot obtain sufficiently large datasets to reveal the brain mechanisms underlying ASD. In response, the Autism Brain Imaging Data Exchange (ABIDE) initiative has aggregated functional and structural brain imaging data collected from laboratories around the world to accelerate our understanding of the neural bases of autism. With the ultimate goal of facilitating discovery science and comparisons across samples, the ABIDE initiative now includes two large-scale collections: ABIDE I and ABIDE II. Each collection was created through the aggregation of datasets independently collected across more than 24 international brain imaging laboratories and are being made available to investigators throughout the world, consistent with open science principles, such as those at the core of the International Neuroimaging Data-sharing Initiative. For details about these initiatives visit the collection specific pages: ABIDE I and ABIDE II.

Effectiveness of N-acetylcysteine in autism spectrum disorders: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials Tsung-Min Lee 1 , Kuan-Min Lee 2 , Chuan-Ya Lee 3 , Hsin-Chien Lee 4 5 , Ka-Wai Tam 6 7 8 9 10 , El-Wui Loh 6 9 10 11 Affiliations PMID: 32900213 DOI: 10.1177/0004867420952540 Abstract Objective: Currently, pharmaceutical treatment options for autism spectrum disorder are limited. Brain glutaminergic dysregulation is observed in autism spectrum disorder. N-acetylcysteine, which can be converted to glutathione and subsequently release glutamate into the extracellular space, and thus reduce glutamatergic neurotransmission at synapses, is considered a potential drug for autism spectrum disorder treatment. Here, we analyzed the treatment effects of N-acetylcysteine on autism spectrum disorder in randomized controlled trials. Study design: Updated systematic review and meta-analysis. Data sources: By systematically searching the PubMed, Embase and Cochrane Library, we obtained five randomized controlled trials. Study selection: Meta-analyses were performed to examine the improvement in autistic behaviors as measured by the Aberrant Behavior Checklist, Social Responsiveness Scale and Repetitive Behavior Scale-Revised, using mean difference with a 95% confidence interval and a random-effects model. Data synthesis: After 8-12 weeks of N-acetylcysteine supplementation, the pooled result of four trials revealed an improvement in Aberrant Behavior Checklist total score (mean difference = 1.31, 95% confidence interval = [0.42, 2.20]). When one trial was excluded, the sensitivity test result was stronger (mean difference = 1.88, 95% confidence interval = [0.92, 2.83]). The pooled results of three trials revealed significant improvements in hyperactivity (mean difference = 4.80, 95% confidence interval = [1.20, 8.40]) and irritability (mean difference = 4.07, 95% confidence interval = [1.13, 7.04]). Regarding Social Responsiveness Scale, the pooled result of two trials showed significant improvement in social awareness after 8-12 weeks of N-acetylcysteine supplementation (mean difference = 1.34, 95% confidence interval = [0.09, 2.59]). No differences were observed in the pooled results of two trials using Repetitive Behavior Scale, either in the total or the subscales. Conclusion: We concluded that N-acetylcysteine is safe and tolerable, reduces hyperactivity and irritability and enhances social awareness in children with autism spectrum disorder. However, further evidence should be sought before a general recommendation.

"This is what censorship looks like." It seems unlikely to me that Founder would tolerate members miscoding html to close threads, but get so bent by your DM that he shut down the board temporarily. But who knows. There was no accompanying message. Maybe to avoid the inevitable ADA law suit SJG would surely file if he was banned, Founder is just going to shut down the board Monday through Saturday from 1 to 7 PST with the above banner. (Except library Holidays of course.) 😈

Songs to listen to under the influence
When I think of getting high and listening to music, I think of one of two things: Bands that are/were great live and have extended jams like the Allman Brothers band, The Revivalists, My Morning Jacket, Donna the Buffalo. Great headphone music like Radiohead Ok Computer/Kid A, Pink Floyd Animals, Yes Yes-Songs, Pure Reason Revolution The Dark Third, My Bloody Valentine – Loveless

Drug dealers in the club. Yea or nay?
Generally speaking, I would be against drug dealers in the strip clubs. However, a dude sitting in the back during day shift selling little blue pills might have a viable market and be a boon to the club. Also a dude selling Prozac or Zoloft to a desertscrub type rage monkey would be appreciated if we happen to be in the club at the same time.

You ever fly out a girl to you or considered it?
Are you already gotten bored with fucking every reasonably hot woman within driving distance? It's one thing if you're in a relationship, but flying someone out just for pussy seems like a major hassle.
