TUSCL is a business whose primary offering is free speech. It’s also a business that must be aware of potential legal liabilities. It’s a tricky business threading your way through those conflicting forces.

I don’t understand why people would participate in a free speech forum, only to demand cancellation of people they don’t agree with. Odd. Ironic. Hypocritical. Something like that.

Hell, Founder even gave us the ability to personally block people we don’t want to hear from. That’s further than a lot of open forums would go to.

There is no such thing as free speech in the constitution or anywhere when the censor is a business. The first amendment only protect speech when the government wants to shut it down. There is no such requirement to allow free comments for private enterprises.

It seems to me that Founder is never going to be part of the "cancel culture". If I were him, I'd cancel the person asking for someone to be canceled. I guess he did that in a way.

623 but businesses can create a free speech environment for example rumble or some of the other platforms created after some conservatives were banned on twitter. The tricky thing with free speech is what actions are allowed in response to verbal or written threats of violence or theft. Some people think you can take physical action in response to verbal threats or even verbal insults.

If you pulled down the discussion section for some but not all based on viewpoints, then it is censorship. Taking it down treats every opinion equally and wasn't censorship, just an overreaction; again, the owner's right. In reality its almost time for this board to end anyway. Everything has been discussed again. Once the new site is up I can go back to reading the paper because I decided to get it delivered again.

If we're all about free speech here, then the users should have the freedom to ask why some members get privileges and leeway that is not afforded to others.

And, it's also fair game to ask why one member is allowed to take over another user's thread for over a year and 400 posts (even when it has been explained to them over and over again that they only need to start their own thread on the topic and it will cease to negatively impact the other user)? And if the answer to all of those questions is "Because FU, it's my website.", then that's perfectly valid. But let's stop pretending that it has anything to do with rights, free speech, or cancel culture.

Personal opinion ... Giving TUSCL members some internal control over their own user experiences here is not an assault on free speech. Someone should be able to *truly* block another user (as far as I'm concerned, the current tool is broken). And users should be able to close commenting on the threads they create.

There is no user on here, and no moderator anywhere, who does not allow his or her own personal beliefs and biases to influence who they boot and who gets a pass. Moderation, shadow banning, cancel culture all spring from the same place of "I do not like what you say, and so you should not be free to say it." That is wrong, period. Full stop. Be grown-ass men and accept responsibility for feeding the trolls. If you want moderation, go to Reddit or the netherlands website. If you want content control, start your own website.

Besides the banned members Tetra mentioned there have been others, txtittyfag, trucidos 2 or 3 times, and spammers/advertisers such as the Indian packers/movers, and Indian escort sites so there is selective moderation.
All of them combined have resulted in less dissension, spam, and arguing than the creep has fueled here.

I've said it before, it's Founders board, he does what he wants with it, he's a businessman and it's his business. But this board specifically exists as a location to gather reviews and other information about strip clubs. The life blood of this forum is the reviews and sharing of club information through those reviews, the creep has never contributed to any of that.
Instead what we get from him is threads on starting a fiat, obscure subjects that only he posts about and comments on with no interests from others.

All of us have either pay or post reviews to get valid memberships here.

@drewcarey, that is what happened. That is what you would see if you tried to look at the general discussions of the site or try to read any individual threads. Though oddly, if you went over to individual sub forums (front room, politics, etc), you could view thread titles and even create your own thread. I created one yesterday while the discussions were down just to test it out.

I just tested it out right now.. 👀 So I individually have been effectively “shadowbanned” from posting photos. BUT the ability to inject HTML for either general photo purposes, trolling purposes, or potentially at some point outright malicious purposes are still around. And there has been nothing said to address that, and at this point who knows if it ever will.

Founder of course has a right to to prioritize any issue he deems that’s the biggest priority and address it as he sees fit. But if blocking one dancer from posting something “very offensive” is what the priority is…then I’ll just put out my personal opinion that this is a very very weird hill to die on.

I want everyone on this site to know that I will personally be going through my PMs and deleting every single conversation that has anything that might even be remotely bad for it to be out there. Whether because the information is doxxing, or just simply that if somebody hasn’t put something out on the board, it might be personal in some other way and better not read. I don’t have the power to make the site more secure, but I will do my part that if anything ever DOES happen (and hopefully it never does happen), then I can feel satisfied knowing that I did my part. Especially because some of the cool people I’ve met in real life on here sometimes feel comfortable writing things in PMs that they wouldn’t want to do on the board.

I always try to remember that founder sold me lifetime VIP membership for very cheap (probably regrets it now), and gives it away for very small contributions. I'm not a charity case, and if anyone else is, go see what they can do for you at The Salvation Army. We can't expect founder to be shelling out (or shell out more than he may already be) to keep this site up. The very, very worst moderator is one who volunteers to do it. You'd need a paid moderator. Or founder would have to pay the opportunity cost of using his own time to moderate. And even with a good moderator, there's a lot of hard judgement calls. So, I'll say it again, use the ignore button.

Ooh yeah, I’ll go ahead and clear the air on that one. SJG was given VIP access last year for a month in October/November because I specifically PM’d founder and asked him that if I paid for one month’s worth of VIP if he can grant it to SJG. And that was what happened. It was right around when a bunch of people were calling for him to be banned (more than usual anyways), so I thought it would interesting to see how people would react. And people’s reactions were indeed hilarious. Oddly enough during that time period SJG was more calm and posting less, erm, inflammatory posts at that time. And that was despite the fact that I may or may not have PM’ed him encouraging him to post comments on people’s reviews to enlighten them about front room makeout sessions. But that didn’t happen. I love doing things just to see how people react and I have no regrets. Fun times.

Ok, so I looked at the post drew and the icee one are squabbling over. It's too much to paste. Drew thought he saw a tranny in a club, was grossed out. But he didn't use the slang words, he tried to be PC about it.

Stuff happens.
